      Seems pretty accurate to me!

I'm going to play all of my ST on default (although I said I'd play Legend, I played 4 games today and lost by a combined 35-1 so I'm going on All-Star), and if I see anything ridiculous that's mirrored by the board, I'll adjust. I figure the 34 games should be a good base for my own adjustments as well.

        Re: Show 09 Sliders

I have been playing on All-Star like I did in 08 and hitting is definitely tougher this year. I still get the impression after playing several games that the defense is still too fast and takes too many "perfect" angles. There were only a couple of hits that fell near a fielder. 90% of the hits that are near a fielder were caught on several outstanding plays. Also, A. Ramirez made 3 diving stops in the hole for the Cubs against me as well. He's not a slouch defensively, but the web gems are getting out of hand. I turned fielder reaction and fielder speed all the way to the left to experiment and I'm not even sure it had an effect (ala, last year's game).

I also noticed that pitcher control is very very good for the CPU. I forced situations where regular fielders were forced to pitch and then changed teams. Chris Duncan and Ryan Ludwick both were painting corners like it was going out of style.

Out of the box it's a very good game, but those are just the things that may need tweaking along with pitch speed (which i haven't tried dropping yet but will).

Man, I feel you. Last year I averaged about 9 hits a game. This year on All-Star I'm averaging around 5 per and only 1 run a game. Almost everything for me are singles also. Can anybody help me out??? I'm 0-6 in Spring Training lol.

Wow I can't agree more... I never scored more than 3 runs in a game and never had more than 6 hits. I'm now playing on AS with default sliders... Is it me or do these CPU pitchers paint the corners all the time!! Don't worry guys, a patch is definatly going to be released sooner than later. Also these non-called errors are crazy, seems to happen once a game. Overall this game is great but the hitting is really weak. I feel sorry for people playing on Legend!

So far I have only played two games with Seattle in spring training. I am 1-1 with a .266 avg and 1.89 era. First game I lost 3-2 and second game I won 8-5, I am playing on All-Star straight out of the box and so far I love the feel of the hitting engine this year!!! Exciting stuff!!!

p.s. The reason my era is low is because I had four unearned runs in the second game.

Right now though default All-Star plays pretty solid.
I'm seeing the same thing. I've seen a lot of balls get past my infielders and I'm not used to that. I think fielding errors needs to be maxed out although throwing errors might have to be dropped one notch. I also think people will be dropping fielder run speed down close to 0. The OF still gets to balls too quickly on default imo. I've always felt relievers have too much stamina in the Show and so their stamina goes down to 0 for me.

I suck butt give me a few days and I WILL get better. It's that way every year a game makes adjustments you have to get use to the game the one day bingo, it all fall into place.
Example Killzone 2 I suck for the first to days online. Now I a at the least holding my own.

If you find hitting hard, just lower pitch speed and boost user contact. Problem solved (that's what I do).

I have had some decent success with default All-Star hitting wise. I think the key is this year you are going to have scratch out runs against the aces and try to pound the average to sub par pitchers. Seems like there is big difference between the two.

Just for example against the Twins using the Tigers I faced Liriano who can have some pretty good stuff when on. I could only muster 2 runs on 2 solo homers. The next game against a weaker pitcher, Jeremy Sowers of Cleveland I lit him for 5 runs in the first inning including 3 home runs. Unfortunately though I couldn't get anything the rest of the game and blew the lead and lost 10-5. The 8th when I brought Rodney in with it 5-4 in was a disaster. Walked 2 guys, 2 pass balls and a the only throwing error I have seen so far by Inge. I tried to bring in Zumaya to stop the bleeding but it was too late.

I have found after 5 games that User sliders on All Star are damn good on default. The only thing I touched was pitch speed and I moved that down 2 notches. CPU sliders are a different story. Seemed like in every game I would have a 2 or 3 run lead and they would start pounding the ball around the 6th inning. I think tonight I'm going to move CPU contact and power down a couple notches.

Yeah I have found the cpu hits really well and will probably drop their contact down a notch or two. As for me I am not hitting to good and may up contact a bit as for power I'll leave it on default for now and judge after a few more games.

I started to tweak All-Star sliders a bit... I have found the pitch speed is just about perfect at default. I am seeing what you guys are saying about fielders. I need to work on that a bit. My offense is fine I turned up the power 1 notch, but probably gonna be turning it back down.

Here is my problem and wondering if any of you have tried different things to try and fix it and that is getting the CPU to strike out. I bumped up my command hoping to be able to paint the corner better, but now I don't get those 2-4 walks a game which I like to have. I also tried to lower the CPU's contact and or solid hits, but I still can't get them to even think about swinging at a curve ball low out of the zone. The only way I am getting K's right now is throwing fastballs high and inside and they swing and miss. I would like to see a happy medium and I am seeing them swing at some stuff out of the zone early in the count and think all that is good as it stands, but want them to swing at the curve or slider low with 2 strikes. They don't ever!!! I want to be able to have good match ups where I set up my pitches and not throw the same stuff to get the realistic K count.

Say it with me people... Release a patch or get working on one pronto. Anyone who thinks i'm wrong on this let me just say that I thought MLB 08 was the best game ever. I'm a huge baseball fan and like as much realism as possible in my video games. In 08' the show with Nems' sliders i had a .270 avg, during a full season, 5+ era, realistic HRs and Ks. Can anyone honestly say they are ready to start a season right now on 09' and get these type of results? Oh yeah.. I don't use guess pitch, strike zone, or the ball marker while pitching.

The game looks great and does indeed have great additions but c'mon now, my biggest complaint is everyone pitches like CC. These pitchers paint the corners like crazy. Last game i counted 62 times they either painted an extreme corner or went extramly low center. 62 pitches like that and then factor in maybe 35-40 balls, hmmm WOW whats left 3-5 good hitable pitches. This game almost feels like HR derby. I can never manufacture any runs! Another complaint is errors. Very obvious errors are called hits almost every game with one of my games having 3 of them. This game needs help. 2 days in and i lower my 10 score to a 7. With a patch maybe a 10. FIX THE PITCHING SONY! I believe that is why so many people are have problems hitting. Oh yeah, lastly this game is NOTHING like the demo, which is a good thing but what were they trying to do... Trick us?

I think pitchers are too accurate on default. I play on Classic and have my pitch control at 0 and cpu pitch control at 1. It keeps everyone from painting corners.

I have noticed the cpu hitters don't chase as many pitches as the demo. The one slider they removed that was great last year was cpu plate discipline. I think that was a bad decision as you could finetune how many balls they chased out of the zone.
