Wow, thats the exact same settings Ive been using prior to increasing the user pitch control in the middle of my last game. blzer and psycho both have contact and timing at 3/4 respectively and blzer has control and consistency at 5/6 and psycho has it at 6/6 for human. Ive gotta decide if I want to leave things alone and see what happens since things were going fine earlier in the year or if I want to raise consistency and control for myself and see if that helps. In a way I want to leave it since I was getting good results previously but on the other hand Im nervous to mess with it since it could make things too easy if this "natural" slump goes away and everything returns to the way it was. Thanks though for posting those sliders for me.

Re: Breaking this Game Down on AllStar ,group effort
I dont have the stats in front of me but I ended up putting my pitchers consistency back at default since I liked the results I was getting before some of my pitchers went to ****. I then lowered the cpu's contact to 4 and got a much better flow to the game. I was playing Colorado with Kuroda pitching, it certainly didnt start off well as I gave up 1 run in each of the first 3 innings (only 2 were earned thanks to a Furcal error) so after 3 innings Colorado had 3 runs on 6 hits but I decided to stick with Kuroda and he ended up pitching the next 4 innings giving up no runs on 4 hits so he certainly settled down. I battled back after chasing Aaron Cook out of the game and blasting Huston Street but Manny Corpas came in and slammed the door shut and Kuo gave up a run in the 10th to lose it for me but the game played much more realistic thats for sure. I may still lower the cpu's contact to 3 as Colorado hit .305 for the game but Im going to let things play out over a longer stretch before I lower it again to 3 since Colorado is actually ranked 2nd in the league in batting average right now so its not like they havent been hitting well anyways. Thanks again for all the feedback though.
EDIT- Almost forgot, here are the exact settings Im using if anyone cares to try them...
USER
RP Stamina (0)
CPU
Contact (4)
Consistency (3)
Strike Frequency (0)
RP Stamina (0)
GLOBAL
Fielder Run Speed (0)
**I may end up raising the cpu's consistency back to default at some point if these hit batters issue doesnt stop as Ive been hit 6 times in my last 3 games and its starting to get a tad bit old.Comment

Re: Breaking this Game Down on AllStar ,group effort
I've always had the User's Consistency and Control at default...When talking about Control/Consistency, I was always referring to the CPU. I wouldn't even think about lowering it for User because the CPU punishes me enough already. If anything, it might be better to increase User Control/Consistency to 6 or higher.

Re: Breaking this Game Down on AllStar ,group effort
I probably asked you this before but are you seeing a ton of beaned batters by the CPU with their consistency at 3? I know in the description for this slider it mentions wild pitches, passed balls and beaned batters and Im seeing atleast 1 every single game right now. I hate to raise this as everything else is so perfect. This is exactly why SCEA needs to expand on their sliders atleast a little, dont have so many different aspects of the game tied into one slider.
Either way, it doesn't stand out to me so I can live with a hit batter if it means having a better overall pitching experience from the CPU.Comment

Re: Breaking this Game Down on AllStar ,group effort
I can't really say I see more hit batters. I get hit here and there, but haven't really been paying too much attention to it to tell you for a fact if it's once a game, or once every two games etc.

Anyway, I can't wait until I get my PS3 back. It's scheduled for April 8th!Comment

Re: Breaking this Game Down on AllStar ,group effort
Are you still having the constant bullpen problems from the CPU? Do you know if other people have been noticing it? If you remember, I experienced it only once, where the CPU was just atrocious and obviously suffering from some glitch/hiccup or something (I scored 10 runs that inning).

Re: Breaking this Game Down on AllStar ,group effort
Last game I was down 5-0 and in the 8th I finally got 2 runs off of Ubaldo Jimenez so they yanked him heading into the 9th. In the 9th I teed off on Embree, Buchholz and then Street to tie the game 5-5, in the 10th I scored another run off of a different reliever, whose name escapes me, and I won 6-5 after Broxton struck out back to back batters to end the game. Now that doesnt happen every single game but 4/5 games it does and thats frusterating to say the least.
Wainwright also got a bit dicey but nothing to bad before that , lots of pitches in the dirt , not to bad overall on those sets.Comment

Re: Breaking this Game Down on AllStar ,group effort
Played 2 more games before work using the sliders posted above by myself and got 2 good games again so I think Im fairly well set. When I was playing Colorado you could tell they had an offense that was pretty good and was hitting well and now Im playing SF who has gone 13/60 in the first 2 games of the series and you can tell the differences between Colorado and SF offensively atleast. My offense has picked the worst time to go into a rut, I won the first game 2-0 behind 12 hits but I could never get the big hit to bring anyone home. Game 2 I lost 1-0 and only had 4 hits total and couldnt get anything going at all, completely different game then the first one, and even though Zito walked 4 in the 6 innings he pitched I was unable to do anything with those free passes. Im 13-7 with a 1.5 game lead over Colorado currently and loving every second of it.
Damn this game is addicting.Comment

Re: Breaking this Game Down on AllStar ,group effort
I just posted a ridiculously long summary of my trial of Veteran in the thread on breaking Veteran gameplay, and I wanted to post in here to urge folks to try Veteran. It's no joke, and it's not a pushover level. I was too prideful to try it for a while, despite the fact that I was having to make global and pitching slider adjustments on All Star and still striking out too many times. Having the rest of the game feel good but whiffing so often was just too frustrating for me, so I tried Veteran default, with just reliever stamina and strike frequency adjusted (both to 0). The results were awesome. I posted 'em in the other thread, but suffice it to say here that if your sole problems on AS are related to judging pithes, drawing walks, and striking out too much on offense, then Veteran defautl with those two slider adjustments will likely be a very good fit.Comment

When I go into playoffs I still switch my level down to Veteran to diminish overdone cpu uber boosts.Comment

Re: Breaking this Game Down on AllStar ,group effort
The main difference I notice on Veteran is with CPU pitching. The pitch speed is just a tad slower, and with strike percentage at 0, the CPU will actually throw truly lifelike strike percentages. I've seen starters throw 53, 55% strikes over the course of the game. And the pitches are just a tad easier to read.Comment

Re: Breaking this Game Down on AllStar ,group effort
I ran some test games, and I find that the CPU offense is quite potent on Veteran. I had the CPU hit 6 HR off of me in one game on Veteran. That never happened on AS or HOF. The game just has so much variety.

Re: Breaking this Game Down on AllStar ,group effort
So, is anyone here playing on All-Star with CPU Contact at 3? Ive had it at 4 but on the season the CPU is hitting approx. .297 against me, Im one of the worst in terms of hits allowed yet one of the best in runs allowed, lol. SF hit .292 in my last series, Colorado hit .369 in the series before that and Houston hit .327 the series before that so you can see that the CPU is hitting far too frequently yet they arent scoring runs at all. Ive noticed that some people are lowering the CPU's Contact to 3 but raising their power to 6 or 7 depending on whose sliders you check. Has anyone tried the CPU's power at 6 or 7 and what were the results? Im definitely changing the contact down to 3 as SF shouldnt go 15/36 while roughing up Billingsley, they dont have the offense to do that and yet they did it in my last game. Basically, Im looking at the following....
CPU Contact (3)
CPU Power (6-7)
Power sounds like the harder the ball comes off the bat but not necessarily the increase in homeruns hit, is this correct?Comment
