I may have to raise cpu contact, etc to 3.

I am really shutting them down, but it was also the Nationals and Padres.

It's 8 on Hum power to high. I use about 5 maybe 6 power and I am hitting out about an average of 2 to 6 a 3 game series..I would figure that 8 would be rocketing them out of the park.

I use ToBrien's sliders if would like to know, They are good sliders but I don't know they lack the wow factor. Do you know of any sliders for Veteran that have that WOW factor?

You may be right, as I have lowered my power to 7.

As far as sliders I am back at default mostly but with my power at 7,

cpu... contact at 3, power 6, timing and solid hits at 4, Pitch control and consistency at 0. Pickoffs at 2.

My cpu hit sliders are taken from PsychoBulk's, with the exception of fouls. Maybe try his at veteran level, because his are for All-Star.

Cable Guy...I too am using PyschoBulk's sliders on veteran. However, I'm crushing the ball averaging 15 hits per game using the Nationals. Now, I've only played a couple of games and I realize it's a big enough sample. Have you seen this when you started? Did the hit totals come down after a while? The CPU hits me fine but I seem to score a lot of runs and get a ton of hits using veteran and pyscho's sliders. It's almost like I'm too good at hitting for veteran but not good enough for pitching.

              Yep.

I was smacking the ball around for a few games as well, but not the last 2 games. I had 1 run scored.

I would continue another couple of games and see if it continues. If so try lowering the Hum contact slider.

Thanks. I think I'm going lower human contact to 3 maybe even 2. I like veteran. I think it plays a great game. It's certainly the right pitching level for me and I think I can adjust the hitting to make it a challenge.

Yep, I really like the Veteran level. It does play a great game of baseball. I think you can adjust it to most skill sets, to which players play like there real life counterparts... but also to where skill is involved.

I just updated my post on Veteran vs All Star stats....the link is in my post #25 on this thread. Some interesting changes between the two. I'm thinking Veteran might still be the way to go, even tho I do tend to enjoy the All Star level as well.

Re: Veteran Level play and Slider talk

I have been using Pycho's sliders for the past day. I was playing on All-Star, but was finally fed up with the way the AI played, anyway. I too finally moved down to Veteran and am 6-3 so far and am loving the veteran level so far, but my power is gone!!! I am using the Brewers and 7 of the batters can hit the long ball, but I have only hit 2 homeruns in those 9 games from Tony Gwynn & Trot Nixon. Hardly the guys you would expect out of my stock lineup.

My question is do you all think having a high Solid Hit's slider may be effecting my homerun ball? I mean I make nice hits and I have noticed I had a few more doubles and triples out of these sliders, but the homerun totally gone.

I know a lot of you have had a lot more time with this level and or these sliders so I wanted to get an opinion from people that are in the know...

I never got good enough to even move up to All-Star this year, because that is the level I eventually move up to. Not this year. With just a little tinkering, Vet is very very competitive.

You definitely should be getting more HR's. 2 in 9 games is more than a slump for the whole lineup.

Bump power to 7, and that should do the trick. Mine was at 8, and I had to tone it down to 7.

Solid Hits should have no bearing on lack of HR's. If anything it might help.

Thank you. I thought it might have something with Solid Hits because I hit rocket line drives that never get up enough. I will try to up the power thing.

I think I'm going back to Veteran too.

I've been on All-Star for my last 50 games or so, have had a good run, but lately have been getting fed up too much and it's a snowball effect. I go in stretches where I either completely can't hit or just can't pitch to save my life. I know it's baseball, but it started feeling artificial to me.

I'm going to stick with the same sliders I've been using on All-Star for now and see how they play out. I started with Psycho's (Global was unchanged) and tuned it to my preferences.

I too like to keep sliders as close to default as possible, and only change what I feel is necessary.

I'll also take into consideration Autumn Wind's suggestion to put CPU Consistency back at Default. It worked for me on AS, but he's probably right for Veteran. We'll see.
