I actually won the other day when Tejada let a ball go right through him and my guy scored from second. First time that happened to the CPU instead of me, lol.

I have settled in on 6 as my CPU pwr slider for now.
On 7, I had some guys jack some out on me opposite field with the wind blowing in, and wasn't too happy about it. I pitched a slider down and out just off the plate and some singles hitter hit it out over the fence in right field with the wind coming in at R field at 10 mph.
Stat-wise, I think 6 will work out for me, but I will have to play more games to find out. I gave up 3 HR's in one game alone (CPU power 6) with Zambrano because he just didn't have it the other day for some reason. It wasn't just my accuracy either. So it looks like 6 will work out for me. I will play CPU pwr at 6 for 15 games and then take a look at the stats. If that doesn't work, I may up timing to 4 like pbz has it and see how that goes, but I have been pretty happy with how the CPU plays except the number of HRs when I was on 5.
I thought about upping it, right up until the Rangers came to town and hit about 14 hr in 3 games. They were absoultely killing the ball. But, they lead the league in HR IRL, so it's pretty darned realistic.
With power at 6 I find that good power teams will rip you if you make mistakes, but you can still pitch effectively.Comment

I've spent the weekend using your sliders and I'm pretty pleased with the results, though I did change the Pitch Speed, Human Pitch Control, & Human Pitch Accuracy to 5. I've only played about 7 games with these, but I'm seeing a lot of variety in each of my games. The only complaints I have is that I'm not striking out the computer enough and they seem to swing at just about anything and everything, no matter what the count is; and I'm not seeing many foul balls at all. Couple that with the low strikeout totals and my starting pitcher's pitch counts are pretty low by the time I take them out or the game ends. I've used the Braves in all of my games and I'm even having trouble getting K's with Soriano, which is something I never have struggled with. Any slider adjustment suggestions? Just thought I'd drop in and leave some stats from my first game with these.
White Sox- 2runs, 10 hits, 0 errors
Floyd started and went 5 complete with 4 earned, 2 bb's and 1 k
Cubs(Me)- 6runs, 9 hits, 0 errors
Zambrano started and went 7 complete with 2 earned, 1 bb and 5 k's
The Sox had 4 extra base hits (2 2b's, 2 hr's)
The Cubs had 4 extra base hits (2 2b's, 2 hr's)
Overall I thought it played exceptionally well. I think I might drop the power slider from 7 to 6 due to the fact I was hitting a lot of warning track hits, I could've easily finished the game with 4-5 hr's, but I'm going to try a few more games out at 7 power. Getz hit a hr for the Sox which would have never happened with the sliders I was playing with, which is a really good thing. Hopefully with these sliders I'll actually be able to knock a few out with some unexpected players which would add a touch of realism. I drew 3 bb's and only struck out 3 times, the walks felt amazing and it really added to the overall flow of the game. Nice job on the slider set and I'll let you know how any further games go.Cubs

Don't drop the Power yet. I was hitting several homeruns early on, but over the last 5-10 games I barely have any. There's a lot of variance over a large sample of games.Comment

Verlander started for them and went 6 full with 4 ER, 3 BB's and 1 K.
Marshall started for me and went 4 full with 6 ER, 0 BB and 2 K's.
It was nice to have Marshall struggle because with the sliders I was using before he was 8-2 with around a 2.1 ERA, so I was having CY Young caliber outings consistently with an average pitcher. I still think the power is too high, but I'll keep playing it out on 7 and see how it goes.
Oh I hit my first ever HR with Theriot, which might have been one of the most rewarding at bats of my baseball video game career (I'm only 22, but believe me that's ALOT of games lol)Cubs

Yea, you might just be a better player/hitter than me. You might end up needing to lower Power, but just keep in mind of the variance and play around 20 games before making final decision.
I usually stick to sliders, but just keep mental notes of what I'm seeing, and after 20 or so games maybe tweak a little more. Just don't let a series or two be the determining factor.
In my season, i CRUSHED cleveland in a 3-game sweep, averaging like 13 hits and 9 runs per game and several homeruns. Then against Arizona I got shut down big time and squeezed out 1 or 2 runs in each game with no homeruns.Comment

Give these sliders about 15 games before changing, but you may need to raise the CPU timing slider to 4 like pbz did.

Do you use the L stick a lot? I only tend to use it with weaker hitters and when I have 2 strikes. I normally "sit" on my pitch otherwise. If you are really good at the L stick, you may have to lower it to 6.
Drawing walks is awesome. PBZ gets the credit for coming up with those awesome CPU pitch sliders. I am actually happier to draw walks sometimes than get a single, lol. You just can't draw walks consistently with a lot of the other sliders out there unless you are an eagle eye, lol.
One thing I really like about these sliders is the flow of the game. It is fun, feels realistic, get good stats mostly, and moves at a good pace. There is a lot of variety in the games. I have had shootouts, and i have had pitching duels. That is what I see with these sliders that separates them from others with my skill level that is.Comment

I think Theriot's power may be slightly underrated in the SCEA rosters since he is pulling more now. I definitely think Micah Hoffpauirs power is underrated with the SCEA rosters.
On a side note, I picked off my very first CPU player at 1b this year. I was with Harden too. Very rewarding feeling. But, I also threw one away into CF with Lily and let a run score, lol.Comment

Just wanted to say your sliders have given me the enjoyment I was looking for in playing the CPU. I upped the the Pitching speed & a few other little tweaks, but I'm using your overall settings as my base. The most enjoyable aspect I get is that there truly is a difference from team to team and there's a real ebb and flow to the game that feels natural and not glitchy. I definitely would suggest these to anybody looking for sim like play against the CPU.Comment
