Doc if we use classic pitching should we lower pitch control and consististancy to 6 each instead of 7 ?

If you are finding pitching too easy, then yea. Just play a couple games and keep an eye out for what you're seeing. User sliders are mostly subjective to the User's skill. I think 7/7 is a good starting point especially for Meter guys which tends to throw more meatballs and the CPU punishes you. Classic made my pitching a bit easier, so I had to lower my pitching sliders.

I'm finding pitching and hitting way too easy with these sliders. I pitched a one-hitter with AJ Burnett and have been consistently getting around 8 - 12 hits a game with the Yankees, which is accurate, except for the fact that I always seem to get most of them in the first few innings and pretty much have control of the game from that point forward.

Outside of those two small issues, though, I really like these sliders. I'm drawing walks and getting a fair mix of XBH and HRs each game...these seem to work best for me.

You may want to increase CPU Timing to 4 first, and if that doesn't work for you also increase CPU solid hits to 4 also. That should do the trick for the CPU hitting.
As for your pitching being too good, I would try changing pitcher control to 6 and if you need to, also change pitcher consistency to 6.
I really think this will help you since you are good at both hitting and pitching, but still give the "feel" of these sliders. I would start by only adjusting one user pitching slider at a time and only one CPU hitting slider at a time first. Do the first ones I mentioned because they seem to work the best.
Thanks for the feedback, and let us know how that works out.

The most enjoyable aspect I get is that there truly is a difference from team to team and there's a real ebb and flow to the game that feels natural and not glitchy. I definitely would suggest these to anybody looking for sim like play against the CPU.
That's great to hear. Sounds like everyone is upping pitching speed, lol, I am getting old and the reflexes are shot I guess
I totally agree with you about the different teams, and also different players play differently. I really like the flow of the game with these sliders as well. I tended to get frustrated with some of the other ones, and the bottom line is to have fun and enjoy the gameplay and hopefully stats work out well too (mine have so far based on my skill and the CPU settings).
These sliders aren't for the uber MLB 09 gamer that can just rake the ball, but I think those players know that.

I like these sliders a lot. Like the pitch speed, because I normally chase a lot of pitches, and the slower speed helps me see them a little better, to get some walks and some higher counts.

Only problem I am having is that I can't hold a lead to save my life. 0-4 in my Mets Chise with these sliders and have blown 2+ run leads in every game....

...wait a minute, that sounds like the real Mets...

I will say this: I don't know if it's the newest patch that SCEA released or what but my hitting is MILES better than it was 2 or 3 weeks ago. I had to send my PS3 in for repairs to Sony, got it back last week and I'm like a totally different hitter at the plate lol.

I was a big chaser too. I have found the best approach for me is to look middle up and if I don't get it, not to swing, even if it is a strike until I get to 2 strikes. Then with 2 strikes, I protect and try to foul off tough pitches, and take balls (easier said than done, lol).
Slowing the pitch speed down has allowed me to take more pitches. If I played more frequently, I could probably raise it, but I am only getting 1 game in a day nowadays, so my timing gets off. On a good day, I get 2 games in.
Lol, on the Mets. Don't know why, but I seem to have a soft spot in my heart for the Mets these days . I guess it's been the collapses. It's like the Cubs most of my life, lol.

I thought so after the patch too, but just chalked it up to placebo effect.
Looking forward to seeing what you settle on.

Still having good games with these. I hope to post some stats after a few more games since I restarted.
Anyone got any stats after several games?

hey Dr. Ursus. first, i liked your sliders !
i play yesterday 10 Games in my royals Franchise..... but here is my problem : am I tooo bad or are the Royals tooo bad ? my record is 2-8 after 10 games.. my biggest problem with the sliders are , that my Relievers are giving up too many long Balls and hits! my Starting Pitching is bad, too. with these sliders i suck at pitching, and i am good at batting.
the Batting Stats are very realistic, i think. i hit one Homerun per game... sometimes 2. sometimes 0. and i have 7-8 hits per game. i like those Sliders! but, my question :
Must i use the Classic pitching ???? ( is it easier then?)
now i use the new meter..... and i suck a striking out the CPU batters. i give up way to much hits and homeruns....

But that is the omly thing, i dont like with these kewl slider set. in batting, the sliders are perfect for me. many variations, like triples, doubles, homeruns , stolen bases etc .

and sometimes the CPU pitcher going out tooo soon.... the Manager cames soon from the Dugout.... but not often!

thanks for the sliders, Dr Ursus !

p.s. : what i like too, with these sliders, i can draw some walks. when i got patience, i can draw 4-5 walks per game. with most other sliders that is not possible. and, my Stole Bases Stats are 100 %. ( 8 trys , 8 stolen bases) hehe

and, SORRY for my english, i am from Germany. i hope u can read, what i write.

I have some stats (25 games in)....I just need to take the time and post them up

Most of it is looking pretty good, except my team batting averages are a bit high. Almost everybody is in the .285+ range, and my team average is a hair under .300. I might have to lower my Contact a notch or two, we'll see.

My homeruns have taken a big dip. I've hit like 1 over the last 10 games or so, don't know what happened to me there. I was on pace for 1 per game until that point.

We'll see after more games, everythign feels great overall. I'm having issues/frustrations right now with the CPU Pitching Confidence though. Right now it seems like I'm facing Greg Maddux every game.

My Cubs franchise with CPU roster control ON based on Ridin's (no stat glitch) except I changed most guys back to stock SCEA ratings), but updated with new SCEA players up til Monday will be put up in my blog soon for download. This will save you the time to fix all the lineups after the CPU scrambles them after spring training since I fixed them for opening day lineups/rotations.
I'll try to post it by tonight. I did all the faces for all the Cubs players called up so far like Scales, Fox, Blanco, and used SCEA ratings they gave them. Most of the stances and equipment are accurate too for the Cubs.
My sliders are online under DrUrsus All Star sliders, but I have CPU power at 7 on that one. I prefer CPU power at 6, so you can make that change yourself if you agree. Every other slider is correct though.
