    Game #37 of the Season

    Boston(ME) 6 @ Detroit(CPU) 0

The wind was blowing straight in at 18mph for the second night in a row in Detroit causing a power outage for both teams as any well struck fly ball was Knocked down by the wind. Jon Lester was a beast pitching 7 shutout innings while throwing 106 pitches. The Red Sox knocked Max Scherzer around and cruised to an easy 6-0 victory and snap their 3 game losing streak.

    * Kevin Youkilis extended his hitting streak to 13 games

The Red Sox are now 21-16 on the season

      Sounds good.

        Game #38 of the Season

        Boston(ME) 5 @ Detroit(CPU) 7

The Tigers got HR's from Brandon Inge, Johnny Damon and Miguel Cabrera to pace their offense to the 7-5 victory. David Ortiz was 3 for 5 w/ a HR and 3 RBI for Boston. Jacoby Ellsbury had 2 stolen bases in the game. The Red Sox had the bases loaded in the 8th inning trailing by a run but were unable to get the tying or go ahead runs across when Dustin Pedroia flew out to end the inning. Jose Valverde picked up the save for the Tigers.

          Game #39 of the Season

          Boston(ME) 3 @ NY Yankees(CPU) 5

The Yankees were powered by 2 HR's from Nick Swisher on their way to the 5-3 victory. Daisuke Matsuzaka and Andy Pettitte were both good but not spectacular. The Red Sox had their chance in the 8th inning when Adrian Beltre crushed what would have been a go ahead 3-run HR to LF that must have went foul by a hair as it sailed over the foul pole. I watched the replay about 5 times and still can't believe the umps didn't call it fair or atleast review it - it's too bad it wasn't called a HR because it may have been the deepest ball I have hit yet, just a total moonshot. Mariano Rivera got Maco Scutaro to hit into a 6-4-3 double play to end the game and give Rivera the save.

The Red Sox are now 21-18 on the season

            Game #40 of the Season

            Boston(ME) 5 NY Yankees(CPU) 2

The Red Sox beat the Yankees 5-2 to earn a split of the 2 game series in New York. Jeremy Hermida has been playing for J.D. Drew who is out day to day with back spasms and Hermida came up huge with 3 hits including a double and a home run. Josh Beckett pitched into the 8th inning before tiring after 111 pitches, Beckett had 12 K's in the game. Jonathan Papelbon earned his 13th save of the season.

The Red Sox are now 22-18 on the season and head home for a 2 game series against the Twins.

              Game #41 of the Season

              Minnesota(CPU) 3 Boston(ME) 5

The Twins had an early 2-0 lead in this game. The Red Sox offense came alive with 4 runs in the 4th inning when Mike Lowell hit a 2-run double and the next batter Mike Cameron blasted a 443 ft 2-run HR over the green monster and off the light tower to make it 4-2 Boston. Scutaro added a solo HR in the 7th inning. Clay Buchholz gave the Sox a quality start going 6 innings and the bullpen shut the Twins down in the late innings.

The Red Sox are now 23-18 on the season and head home for a 2 game series against the Twins.

                Game #42 of the Season

                Minnesota(CPU) 16 Boston(ME) 4

The Twins embarrased the Red Sox 16-4 as the Red Sox pitching, defense and hitting were all equally horrendous. The Twins scored 16 runs without Joe Mauer in the lineup as he was given the day off. Jon Lester was victimized by his defense early when Bill Hall booted a grounder that would have ended the 3rd inning and enabled the Twins to blow it open. Tim Wakefield was horrible out of the pen and the rout was on.

The Red Sox are now 23-19 on the season and will begin a difficult road trip in Philadelphia before moving on to Tampa Bay. It's safe to say that this is going to be a very important stretch of games coming up.

                  Game #43 of the Season

                  Boston(ME) 3 Philadelphia(CPU) 4 (12 Innings)

The Red Sox got early solo HR's from J.D. Drew and Dustin Pedroia but the Phillies came back to take a 3-2 lead into the 8th inning. Mike Cameron delivered a game tying single in the 7th inning to tie the game 3-3 and knock Cole Hamels out of the game. J.D. Drew had to leave the game in the 8th inning with an injury after diving for a ball down the RF line. The game remained tied into the 12th inning as both bullpens were excellent. The Phillies won with 1 out in the bottom of the 12th when Ben Francisco singled in Jimmy Rollins after Rollins hit a lead off double.

JD Drew has been placed on the 15 day DL w/ a shoulder injury and will miss 2 to 3 weeks. Darnell McDonald has been recalled from AAA Pawtucket

The Red Sox are now 23-20 on the season and are struggling badly. Changes may be in order soon.

The Red Sox slump continues and panic time is approaching quickly. I know this slump has become ridiculous when I can't even get a run off Jamie F'n Moyer. Josh Beckett gave me a huge start with a depleted bullpen and allowed just a 2-run HR to Ryan Howard.

The Red Sox are now 23-22 on the season

The Red Sox losing streak has reached 5 games. The Red Sox took a 4-2 lead into the 8th inning when Ben Zobrist hit a solo HR off Delcarmen to make it a 4-3 gmae. Jonathan Papelbon blew the save in the 9th inning and then the Rays won it in the 10th on a walkoff single by Zobrist.

                          Game #47 of the Season

                          Boston(ME) 3 Tampa Bay(CPU) 4 (12 Innings)

The Red Sox and Rays played another nail biter. Jacoby Ellsbury and Marco Scutaro each had 4 hits for the Red Sox. The Red Sox had many opportunities to win this game and just couldn't get the clutch hit. The game was tied 3-3 in the bottom of the 12th when Evan Longoria launched a walk off HR to CF off Daniel Bard, it was Longoria's second HR of the game. The Red Sox bullpen is absolutely depleted right now and I may need to call someone up from AAA to help out.

The Red Sox are now 23-24 on the season and have lost 6 straight, Boston is 2-8 in their last 10 games. The pitching has been pretty good and the Sox are losing close games, they need to start getting clutch hits with RISP.

                            Game #48 of the Season

                            Boston(ME) 1 Tampa Bay(CPU) 2 (10 Innings)

The Red Sox slump continues as they lose another heartbreaker 2-1 in 10 innings. John lackey gave the Red Sox a huge pitching performance as he pitched 9 innings allowing just 1 run. The Rays took a 1-0 lead into the 9th inning and were 1 out away from the win when Kevin Youkilis hit a game tying solo HR off Rafael Soriano to tie it 1-1. Manny Delcarmen got the in the bottom of the 10th before Willy Aybar got a pinch hit double and then came home on the walk off single by BJ Upton.

The Red Sox are now 23-25 on the season and have lost 7 straight, Boston is 2-8 in their last 10 games. The Red Sox are just finding ways to lose games right now and there is panic in the streets iof Boston. The Sox are headed home for a 4 game set with the Kansas City Royals. If the Sox don't take 3 out of 4 - I may need to make a big trade to shake up the team

                              Kansas City(CPU) 2 Boston(ME) 5

The Red Sox snap their losing streak with a big victory at home. Jacoby Ellsbury hit a HR to leaad off the game and set the tone for the night. Daisuke Matsuzaka pitched into the 7th inning before leaving due to fatigue. David Ortiz also homered for a Boston lineup that was without Pedroia, Martinez, Cameron, Beltre who were all fatigued and in need of a day off and was also missing JD Drew who is on the DL. Jonathan Pepelbon got the 4 out save for the Sox.

The Red Sox are now 24-25 on the season and need tob uild off this win. The Sox play their next 14 games against Kansas City, Oakland, Baltimore and Cleveland. Boston needs to to get hot and win the majority of these games against weaker competition.

                                Kansas City(CPU) 2 Boston(ME) 4

The Red Sox have won 2 straight and are back to .500 on the season. Josh Beckett had a solid outing and Mike Cameron hit a 3-run HR to lead the Red Sox offense. Robinson Tejeda and Daniel Bard both did amazing work out of the bullpens for their clubs. Jonathan Papelbon picked up his 16th save to close it out.

The Red Sox are now 25-25 on the season
