    Game #82 of the Season

    Baltimore(CPU) 4 @ Boston(ME) 0

The Orioles got solo HR's from Luke Scott in the 2nd inning and Ty Wigginton in the 4th to grab an early 2-0 lead. The game would remain 2-0 all the way to the top of the 9th as Jon Lester and Kevin Millwood were locked in a fantastic pitchers duel. The Orioles stretched their lead in the top of the 9th to 4-0. Millwood would remain in the game to pitch the bottom of the 9th and would get the complete game 3 hit shutout. Millwood would K 10 batters and Lester would strike out 11 Orioles in defeat. Victor Martinez was injured on the very first pitch of the game as he chased a foul popup and dove near the on deck circle.

Victor Martinez has been placed on the 15-Day DL with a shoulder strain.

Kevin Cash has been recalled from AAA Pawtucket

        Game #84 of the Season

        Boston(ME) 1 @ Tampa Bay(CPU) 3

Daisuke Matsuzaka and David Price each hurled gems as both pitchers has their A games. Bill Hall made a crucial 2-base throwing error in the bottom of the 6th which led to a run for Tampa to make it a 1-0 game. The Red Sox would tie the game 1-1 in the top of the 8th on an RBI single by Davis Ortiz after Jacoby Ellsbury singled and stole 2nd base. The game would go to extra innings and Carlos Pena would win it in the 10th with a 2-run walkoff HR.

          Game #85 of the Season

          Boston(ME) 4 @ Tampa Bay(CPU) 3 (14 Innings)

The rubber match of the series was another nail biter. Tampa took a 1-0 lead in the 3rd inning on an RBI single by Jason Bartlett. The Red Sox finally got to Jeff Niemann in the top of the 6th on RBI singles by Jacoby Ellsbury and David Ortiz. The Red Sox scored a run on a passed ball to make it 3-1 Boston in the top of the 7th. Josh Beckett's stuff was filthy as he struck out 11 hitters through 6 1/3 before having to leave with an injury in the 7th. Tampa would take advantage after Beckett's departure and got a 2-run single from Sean Rodriguez to tie the game 3-3. Tampa would load the bases in the 9th but Hideki Okajima would escape the jam and the game would remain tied into extra innings. Tampa would threaten again in the 10th with runners on the corners with 2 outs but Daniel Bard would get Bartlett to ground out to end the inning. It looked like Carlos Pena was going to hit his 2nd walkoff HR in as many days but Darnell McDonald was able to catch the fly ball at the warning track and send the game to the 13th inning. Dustin Pedroia would hit a leadoff triple in the top of the 14th that just missed leaving the yard by inches and he would score as David Ortiz drove a double off the wall in RF to put Boston up 4-3. Jonathan Papelbon would come on to pitch the bottom of the 14th and would close it out to give Boston a huge victory to take the 3 game series against the first place Rays.

Josh Beckett has a blister on his finger and should only be out for a few days

            Game #86 of the Season

            Boston(ME) 4 @ Toronto(CPU) 10

Boston grabbed an early 2-0 lead in the top of the 1st on a 432 foot HR into the 2nd deck in LF by Kevin Youkilis. The Red Sox would stretch the lead to 4-0 on an RBI sac fly by David Ortiz in the 3rd and an RBI single by Marco Scutaro in the 4th. Clay Buchholz would implode on the mound as he couldn't get through the 5th inning. Buchholz allowed a 3-run HR to Travis Snyder in the 4th and John MacDonald would get a key 2-run single in the 5th as Toronto stormed back to take the lead 6-4. Aaron Hill would add a solo HR in the bottom of the 6th to make it 7-4 Blue Jays and a 3-run HR in the 8th to blow it open as the Blue Jays scored 10 unanswered runs.

              Game #87 of the Season

              Boston(ME) 3 @ Toronto(CPU) 2 (16 Innings)

The Red Sox and Blue Jays traded early runs as the game was tied 1-1 after 3 innings. Vernon Wells crushed a solo HR in the 4th to give the Jays the 2-1 lead. The Red Sox would tie the game 2-2 in the top of the 8th on a Dustin Pedroia solo HR down the LF line. The game would remain tied into extra innings. The Jays had a great chance in the bottom of the 13th after a leadoff double by Travis Snider but Jonathan Papelbon was able to escape the jam and keep the game tied. Edwin Encarnacion would leadoff the bottom of the 15th with a double and a John MacDonald sac bunt would move him to 3rd with 1 out. The Red Sox would intentionally walk Fred Lewis and Lyle Overbay to load the bases for Adam Lind. Lind would hit a grounder to Beltre at 3rd and Beltre would come home for the sure out and the bases remained loaded now for Aaron Hill with 2 outs. Ramon Ramirez would strike out Hill to end the 15th inning and the game would continue. Kevin Youkilis would hit a 1 out triple as his liner in the gap got past the dive of Vernon Wells. Adrian Beltre was up next and hit a bouncer up the middle that scored Youkilis to put Boston on top 3-2. Ramon Ramirez and Dustin Richardson would combine to cpitch the bottom of the 16th and close the game out.

                      Game #91 of the Season

                      Texas(CPU) 5 @ Boston(ME) 2

The Red Sox grabbed a 1-0 lead in the 1st inning and Texas scored in the top of the 2nd to make it a 1-1 game. Cliff Lee and John Lackey faced off on the mound and both pitchers were strong despite having to throw a lot of pitches. Texas finally got to Lackey in the top of the 6th as they got HR's from Josh Hamilton and Nelson Cruz and suddenly the Rangers had a 5-1 lead. Boston would cut the lead to 5-2 in the bottom of the 7th on a sac fly by Mike Cameron. Neftali Feliz would get the save as he closed it out in the 9th.

The Red Sox are now 50-41 on the season

Dustin Richardson has been sent back to AAA Pawtucket - Michael Bowden has been called up to pitch out of the bullpen

                        Game #92 of the Season

                        Texas(CPU) 3 @ Boston(ME) 12

Jon Lester labored through a 34 pitch 1st inning but managed to allow just 1 run as he escaped a bases loaded jam. The Red Sox would push 5 runs across over the next 3 innings and take a 5-1 lead with the key play being a Dustin Pedroia 2-run HR. Taylor Teagarden would knock Lester out of the game in the top of the 6th with a 2-run single to cut Boston's lead to 5-3. The Red Sox would answer in the bottom of the 6th as Pedroia lined a 2-run single into RF to stretch Boston's lead to 7-3. Jeremy Hermida would add a 2-run HR in the 7th inning to put Boston up 9-3. The Rangers loaded the bases against Daniel Bard with 2 outs in the 8th but Jacoby Ellsbury made a leaping catch against the green monster to rob Michael Young and end the inning. The Red Sox would strike again in the bottom of the 8th on a 2-run single by JD Drew and and RBI single by Adrian Beltre to make it 12-3.

The Red Sox are now 51-41 on the season and are headed to Oakland to start a 10 game west coast road trip.

Victor Martinez came off the DL after the game and Kevin Cash has been sent to AAA Pawtucket

                          Game #93 of the Season

                          Boston(ME) 10 @ Oakland(CPU) 5

The Red Sox got things started with a 3-run top of the 2nd on an RBI single by Jacoby Ellsbury and a 2-run double by Dustin Pedroia. Oakland would tie the game 3-3 in the bottom of the 2nd on a Jack Cust solo HR and RBI singles from Ryan Sweeney and Cliff Pennington. Boston would take a 5-3 lead in the 5th inning when Mike Cameron hit a 2-run triple off the CF wall. Victor Martinez connected in the top of the 6th inning for a 2-run HR in his first game back from the DL to put the Red Sox up 7-3. The Red Sox loaded the bases in the top of the 8th and David Ortiz delivered a 3-run bases clearing double to increase the Boston lead to 10-3. Kevin Kouzmanoff hit a 2-run HR in the bottom of the 8th to make it a 10-5 game but that was as close as they would get. Manny Delcarmen and Mike Lowell both left the game with injuries.

Mike Lowell has been placed on the 15-Day DL with an inflamed hip
Manny Delcarmen has been placed on the 15-Day DL with a pulled hamstring
Eric Patterson and Scott Achison have been recalled from AAA Pawtucket

                            Boston(ME) 5 @ Oakland(CPU) 4

Tim Wakefield got a rare start to allow the rest of the staff an extra days rest. The red hot Dustin Pedroia gave the Sox a 1-0 lead with an RBI single in the first inning. Oakland scored 3 runs in the 2nd with the key hit being a 2-run triple by Adam Rosales to give the A's a 3-1 lead. David Ortiz got an RBI single in the top of the 3rd to make it 3-2. Pedroia struck again in the 5th with another RBI single to tie it at 3-3. Kurt Suzuki knocked Wakefield out of the game in the 6th with a solo HR to put Oakland on top 4-3. Boston would come back in the top of the 7th with RBI singles from Eric Patterson and Dustin Pedroia to take a 5-4 lead. The game would remain 5-4 heading into the bottom of the 9th and Jonathan Papelbon closed it out to give Boston the victory. Jacoby Ellsbury drew 3 walks and stole 2 bases in the game.

Eric Patterson has been sent down to AAA Pawtucket

tried these sliders out... I got a stacked team and still am batting like .200 after 5-6 games. lol... wth? might have to up the timing or something. pitchers just aren't giving anything to hit. even on 2-0 it's usually a low strike on the corner. insane.

the thing I hate most about The Show 10 is when the CPU starts stringing hit after hit. it's like an unstoppable rally. regardless if you got an ace pitching or not.
