I'm not saying never swing at a 2-0 fastball right down the middle.
Depends on the hitter you have at the plate and the situation.
With any middle of the lineup guy like Teixeira, Rodriguez or Cano, I will swing at that pitch more times than not. Some good results, some bad. Many times with a runner on first and less than 2 outs it will result in a double play with a slow hitter up there.
With other guys in the lineup like Gardner or Swisher I will take that pitch almost all the time.
Like I said depends on the situation.

      Right?

It seems to me that's the only way to draw walks in this game ... to have a laser-beam focus on NOTHING ELSE but drawing walks, and .. oh, maybe, swinging at pitches as a second-tier priority.
Do you feel that if you swing at a 2-0 pitch it will result in a hit, or an out?

Depends on the situation: batter, hitter, pitch type, pitch location, etc.

I've been at Default on PItch Control and Consistency, with CPU Strike Frequency at 2 (-3 from Default).

If I don't get this adjusted soon, I will (as usual with this game in past years) end up leading the league in least walks allowed and least walks received.

I DO NOT THINK THE PROBLEM IS MY HITTING. I use Guess Pitch, and have a good eye.

I've studies multiple Sliders Sets, and I've seen two approaches... some have Control at about 6 and Consistency at about 8. Others have Control way down at about 2 and Consistency at 10, with Strike Frequency about 2.

Anyone else had my problem, and found success with anything? I really, really, really wanna start seeing some walks ... on BOTH sides.
Move up to HOF for pitching, use coryhartsdaughters HOF sliders for pitching (use the meter)

Move up to all-star for hitting, stop using guess pitch, put CPU pitch control to zero and pitch consistency to eight.

Try this for three to five games, thats all it will take. I'm sure you will ge the results you want.

Re: Looking for some advice on Pitcher Consistency slider..

Just wanted to add my findings...

Been playing on HOF with Meter pitching with Pitcher Consistency set at 10 for both the User and CPU (I did this mainly because I was sick of all the HBP's and Wild Pitches/Passed Balls). I compensated by slightly turning down the CPU's ability to throw strikes (down to 4) and Control (down to 4).

The results have been good so far IMO (about 30-40 game sample size). Still seeing quite a bit of HBP's and Wild Pitches, but not as many as before. Liking it.
