Re: TNK - 2012 Realism Sliders Thread

Starting up a game right now where I will have my #5 starter against a #1 Ace to see how the CPU offense does against my worst pitcher and how my offense does against an ace.

Boston (ME) (Felix Doubront) vs. Detroit (CPU) Justin Verlander

    Stats and Recap to follow

Try batting using ZONE HITTING - that seems to have produced more runs via hits than HR for me

When using TIMING I was getting more runs via the HR than by hits
Thanks. I am using ZONE w/ PCI off now after watching some vids. I really like it compared to TIMING. Got my bat on a lot more pitches, and while it didn't produce any runs, the opportunities will be there.

Like ZOMB13, I, too, lowered the CPU foul frequency a click but that was after my game, haven't played another one yet. I've tried a couple other sets and this one feels the best for me. Thanks for the hard work, TNK.

Just played as the Red Sox against the Tigers & lost 4-0...3 of those runs coming in the 1st inning. I had 5 hits and the tigers had 5. Bard threw well after the 1st and Porcello threw a compelte game shutout, but I squared up MANY balls & made him throw 118 pitches. Very frustrasting though.

I switched to ZONE hitting & I liked it much better. You can really "feel" it when you turn on a ball or hit it well. I wish more would start falling...but this is baseball! Fielding wise...I love the throwing meter OFF as it takes into account the players skills. I am going to play another game now with NL teams and report back.

ZONE is where its at if you are looking to 'play' the game. I know some prefer to have the ratings have the bigger effect but I like to influence the game. How else am I going to win with the A's??

For fielding with the meter off, are you using Button or Analog?

Use button throwing.....tap for soft throw, hold a hair longer for normal throw, hold down to gun it

using your sliders TNK I just went 5 outs away from a no-no. Jered Weaver was on! Also hit my 2nd homerun ever in this game and barely held on to my first victory 2-1 over the Athletics. Good set man, I love your NHL ones as well. Good Work.

wow frustration. Lost 3-0 again this time as the Marlins to St. Louis. I did have 7 hits but also 3 errors. Need to be more clutch!

BOSTON RED SOX (ME) @ DETROIT TIGERS (CPU)

The Red Sox threw Felix Doubront against reigning AL Cy Young winner Justin Verlander. Detroit took a 2-0 lead in the 2nd inning on a 2-run shot to CF by Johny Peralta. The Red Sox got to Verlander in the bottom of the 4th inning when Adrian Gonzalez put on a great 9 pitch at bat as he fought off many tough pitches before lacing a single up the middle to score Carl Crawford who had doubled to pull the Sox to within a run at 2-1. The Sox then tied it up 2-2 on an RBI double by Youkilis. The game didn't remain tied long as Prince Fielder led off the bottom of the 4th with a solo HR opposite field to LF to put the Tigers back on top 3-2. Boston came back again in the bottom of the 5th as they erupted for 3 runs to take a 5-3 lead on RBI singles by Pedoria and Gonzalez and an RBI double by Ortiz. David Pauley releived Verlander entering the 6th inning. Vicente Padilla pitched a solid 7th inning for Boston and the game would go to the 8th with the Red Sox holding on to a 5-3 lead. The Tigers had the tying run at the plate with 1 out in the bottom of the 8th but Mark Melancon was able to get Brennan Boesch to ground into an innin ending 6-4-3 double play to send the game to the top of the 9th with Boston ahead 5-3. The Red Sox would take the 5-3 lead into the bottom of the 9th and call on closer Andrew Bailey who would have to face the meat of the order as Detroit had Miguel Cabrera, Prince Fielder and Delmon Young coming up to bat. Bailey struck out Cabrera for the 1st out, Fielder was up next and he hit a bomb to RF for his 2nd solo HR of the game to make it 5-4. Next up was Young and he singled up the middle to put the tying run on base. Bailey settled down and got Alex Avila to hit into a game ending 6-4-3 double play to record the save as Boston wins 5-4.

                  THIS WAS AN AWESOME GAME!!!!!

                  * In 5 innings of work Justin Verlander threw 93 Pitches (68% Strikes)
                  * In 6 innings of work Felix Doubront threw 90 Pitches (64% Strikes)

Re: TNK - 2012 Realism Sliders Thread

                    Hi TNKNGM

I have to say your sliders, have saved this game for me. I have been playing the show since 05 and the batting this year is so difficult in this game as compared with the previous years. I was having major problems getting any hits at all but since using your sliders I finally won my first game.

I can remember the box score being:-
                    R H E
                    San Diego Padres 2 6 2
                    Los Angeles Dodgers 3 6 2

It was a tremendous game, it went to the eleventh inning with Rubby De La Rosa picking up the win, Jonathan Cashner picking up the loss.

I'm from England and Baseball isn't our typical sport, but I am very loyal to the show as it made me fall in love with the game of baseball. So I would of felt a bit cheap going to the show 11 again or worse MLB 2k12.

Thankyou TNKNGM - you've saved the game.

Re: TNK - 2012 Realism Sliders Thread

Just had a great game with these. My only change is that I use pulse pitching.

                      Washington (me) 6 5 0
                      Giants 3 12 1

                      Was- G. Gonzalez 86 pitches 70 % strike 6.2 IP, 8 H, 1 BB, 4 K, 1 ER
                      SF- B. Zito 98 pitches 65 % strike 5 ip 4 H, 3 BB, 8 K, 5 ER, 1 HBP

                      Was- M. Morse 2-4 1 2B, 1 HR, 4 RBI
                      SF- A. Huff 3-4 1 2B, 1 RBI

Game played great, Zito was very wild which led to a big inning for me. If I had not chased some bad pitches I would have scored more. I really bailed him out a couple of times. My pen was a little shakey in the 7th and 8th with Lidge giving up 2 runs, but Storen was able to get a 123 9th to close it out for me.

                      4th & 1 - 49ers

have to agree with the foul frequency.

whast the real life stats of foul balls per game?

because in this game its at least 3 per inning.

TNK...Liking your sliders so far. I haven't used sliders for the show since 07 but this year I think i may try to find one and just stick to it.

Just a couple of questions. Do you ever use the power swing? Or are you strictly contact (x) swinging? I prefer to only use the contact swing and rarely do i use the power swing. Im also using zone hitting.

I also wanted to know if I increase Solid hits to 4, what else do you think i should increase? (Fielder reaction time/fielder run speed/fielder arm strength/ base runner speed)

Great job on these so far.

I use (X) regular swing 99% of the time......I only use a POWER swing in a 3-0 count with the a power hitter in certain situations.

If you increase Solid Hits to 4 - I recommend switching just that and play some games to see how it goes. Try to avoid making more than 1 change at a time.

                                TNK,

Just wanted to say excellent sliders so far, I'm enjoying the game with them. As for the foul balls mentioned above. I'm getting plenty of them.

                                Great work, bud.
