GAME #48 of the season (Pitching Matchup - Wade Davis vs. Clay Buchholz)
The Red Sox and Rays play the rubber match of this three game series with Jeremy Hellickson and Clay Buchholz set to square off on the mound, Hellickson ended up being a lte scratch and Wade Davis was given the emergency start for Tampa Bay. The Rays had two men on with two outs in the top of the 2nd but Buchholz got Sean Rodriguez to ground out to Aviles at SS to end the threat. The Red Sox had two men on with two outs in the bottom of the 2nd and Marlon Byrd would come through with an RBI single to make it 1-0. The Rays had runners at the corners with one out for Evan Longoria in the top of the 3rd and Longoria hit a tailor made double play ball to 3rd abse but Middlebrooks made a bad throw to 2nd base and everyone was safe as the run scored to tie the game at 1-1. Buchholz would get Carlos Pena to hit into a 6-4-3 double play to end the inning and avoid further damage. Wade Davis pitched a 1-2-3 bottom of the 3rd and we would move to the 4th inning tied 1-1. Clay Buchholz picked up 2 K's as he set the Rays down in order in the top of the 4th. Wade Davis pitched another clean inning in the bottom of the 4th and we would move tot he 5th inning with the score tied 1-1. Tampa Bay had two men on with two outs in the top of the 5th for Longoria but Buchholz would get Longoria to ground out to end the inning and keep the score tied 1-1. Davis pitched around a walk in the bottom of the 5th and the game would go to the 6th inning still tied 1-1. Tampa Bay took the lead in the top of the 6th as Matt Joyce came through with an RBI doouble with two outs to make it 2-1. Sean Rodriguez was up next and he drew an 8 pitch walk to keep the inning alive. Jose Molina followed with an RI single to CF to score Joyce and increase the Rays lead to 3-1 and knock Buchholz out of the game as Rich Hill came in from the pen. Hill allowed an RBI single to Desmond Jennings to make it 4-1 before the inning would finally come to an end. Davis got Adrian Gonzalez to hit into a 3-6-1 double play to end the bottom of the 6th and we would go to the 7th inning with the Rays holding a 4-1 lead. Rich Hill pitched out of danger in the top of the 7th to keep the score 4-1 as the Rays stranded two men in scoring position. Wade Davis put together another strong inning in the bottom of the 7th as he pitched around a single by Middlebrooks and we would head to the 8th with the Red Sox trailing 4-1. Scott Atchison came on to pitch the top of the 8th and got into trouble before getting Longoria to ground out with runners on the corners to end the inning and send it to the bottom of the 8th. Wade Davis remained in to start the bottom of the 8th and issued a leadoff walk to Mike Aviles. Dustin Pedroia would hit a rocket off the green monster for an RBI double to make it a 4-2 game with one out and that would be the end of the day for Davis as Joe Maddon would go to lefty Jake McGee with Ortiz and Gonzalez due up. McGee would get Ortiz to ground out to Rodriguez at SS for the 2nd out and cmae up with a hige K of Adrian Gonzalez to get out of the inning and send the game to the 9th with the Rays leading 4-2. Franklin Morales pitched a 1-2-3 top of the 9th for Boston and we would go to the bottom of the 9th with the Red Sox trailing by 2 runs heading into their last at bat. Tampa Bay closer Fernando Rodney would enter the game looking for the save and got Will Middlebrooks to fly out for the 1st out. Jarrod Saltalamacchia doubled with one out to bring the tying run to the plate in Ryan Sweeney. Rodney got Sweeney to ground out for the 2nd out and Kevin Youkilis would be called on to pinch hit for Marlon Byrd with the Sox down to their final out. Youkilis put on a good at bat but Rodney blew him away to end the game with a 97 mp fastball as the Rays win 4-2.
* The Rays take 2 out of 3 from the Red Sox and Boston has lost 3 of their last 4 games. The AL Central leading Detroit Tigers come to Fenway tomorrow to begin a 4 game series.

Re: TNK - 2012 Realism Sliders Thread
Do you intentionally pitch around batters to walk them or does it jist happen? I cant seem to get a realistic amount of walks when i pitch.
And is it a big deal if i use timing instead of zone hitting? Should i make some slider edits?Comment

Re: TNK - 2012 Realism Sliders Thread
You need to pitch to the corners & pitch off the plate at times....you can't aim over the plate and expect to throw many balls.Comment

TNK - RED SOX FRANCHISE
DETROI TIGERS @ BOSTON RED SOX
GAME #49 of the season (Pitching Matchup - Rick Porcello vs. Felix Doubront)
The Red Sox and Tigers begin a 4 game series on Memorial Day with Rick Porcello and Felix Doubront taking the mound. The Red Sox got off to a quick start as Jacoby Ellsbury singled to leadoff the bottom of the 1st, stole second base and came in to score on an RBI single by Dustin Pedroia to give the Sox a 1-0 lead before Porcello could even record an out. Procello would get out of the inning and strand runners at the corners as the Red Sox had a 1-0 lead after 1 inning of play. Boston went right back to work in the bottom of the 2nd as Ryan Sweeney drew a 9 pitch walk, stole second base and came around to score on an RBI single up the middle by Marlon Byrd to make it 2-0. Detroit got singles by Alex Avila and Danny Worth to give them runners at the corners with one out in the top of the 3rd. Doubront would come back strong with back to back strikeouts of Austin Jackson and Ryan Raburn to get out of the jam and keep the Tigers off the scoreboard. The Red Sox left two men in scoring position as Porcello wiggled out of trouble in the bottom of the 3rd and we would go to the 4th inning with Boston leading 2-0. Miguel Cabrera led off the top of the 4th with a 438 foot bomb to CF for his 13th HR of the season to make it 2-1. The Red Sox went back to work again in the bottom of the 4th as Sweeney and Byrd singled to start the inning and Nick Punto bunted them up to give the Sox two men in scoring position with one out. Jacoby Ellsbury beat out an infield single on a chopper up the middle to score Sweeney and make it 3-1. Dustin Pedroia was up next and he singled to CF to score Byrd and make it a 4-1 game. Jim Leyland had seen enough as the Red Sox had pounded out 9 hits already and called on lefty Duane Below to come on in relief of Porcello. The Red Sox made it 5-1 as Adrian Gonzalez slapped an RBI single to LF. Felix Doubront got some help from his defense as Jacoby Ellsbury made an outstanding catch as he crashed into the wall to rob Danny Worth and end the top of the 5th. Duane Below pitched a 1-2-3 bottom of the 5th and we would head to the 6th inning with Boston on top by a score of 5-1. Felix Doubront continued to roll as he got Miguel Cabrera to hit into a 4-6-3 double play to end the top of the 6th and he has held a potent Tigers offense to 1 run through 6 innings of work on the mound. Below gave the Tigers another strong inning of relief as he wiggled out of trouble in the bottom of the 6th to keep the Tigers in the game and we would head to the 7th inning with the Red Sox leading 5-1. The Detroit offense came alive in the top of the 7th as Prince Fielder walked to begin the inning, Delmon Young followed with a single and Johny Peralta hit a 3-run HR into the bullpen in RF to cut the Boston lead to 5-4 with nobody out. Doubront came back to get two big outs in Avila & Dirks to finish his day and Bobby Valentine would make the move to Vicente Padilla who would get Danny Worth to ground out to Punto at SS to end the inning with the Red Sox holding on to a 5-4 lead. Phil Coke would come on to pitch the bottom of the 7th for the Tigers and he pitched around a single by Ortiz to send the game to the 8th inning with the Tigers trailing 5-4. Vicente Padilla allowed a leadoff single to Austin Jackson to begin the 8th and got Raburn to fly out to CF for the 1st out. Miguel Cabrera was up next and he hit a slow chopper to Youkilis at 3rd base and the only play for Youkilis was at 1st for the 2nd out but that allowed Jackson to move up into scoring position for Prince Fielder. Bobby Valentine made the call to intentionally walk Fielder and take their chances against Delmon Young and the move paid off as Young grounded out to Gonzalez at 1st base who amde the flip to Padilla covering the bag and the Red Sox got out of the inning with their 5-4 lead intact. Phil Coke allowed a two out double to Nick Punto but he would strikeout Ellsbury to send the game to the 9th inning with the Red Sox clinging to a one run lead at 5-4. Boston closer Alfredo Aceves would enter the game looking to close it out and record the save. Johny Peralta led off the top of the 9th and he grounded out to Youkilis at 3rd for the 1st out. Aceves caught Avila looking at a filthy changeup on the outside corner for the 2nd out and the Tigers were down to their last out with Andy Dirks coming up. Dirks worked an 8 pitch walk and the Tigers had the tying run on base. Brennan Boesch was called on to pinch hit for Danny Worth and Aceves got Boesch to ground out to Dustin Pedroia for the final out as Aceves picks up save #15 on the season and the Red Sox hold on for a 5-4 victory.
* The Red Sox take game 1 of this 4 game series and will send Daniel Bard to the mound tomorrow against Drew Smyly for Detroit
* David Ortiz was 2 for 4 and continues to rebound from his poor start to the season as he now has his average up to .240

DETROI TIGERS @ BOSTON RED SOX
GAME #50 of the season (Pitching Matchup - Drew Smyly vs. Daniel Bard)
The Red Sox and Tigers play the 2nd game of this 4 game series at Fenway with Drew Smyly opposing Daniel Bard on the mound. The Red Sox had two men on with one out in the bottom of the 2nd when Smyly got Marlon Byrd to hit into a 4-6-3 double play to end the threat and the game was tied 0-0 after 2 innings. The Tigers caught a break to leadoff the top of the 3rd as Ryan Raburn ended up on 2nd base after he hit a routine fly to RF that was dropped by Darnell McDonald who was playing in his 1st game since returning from the DL. Austin Jackson was up next and singled to RF to score Raburn and give Detroit a 1-0 lead. The Red Sox had two men on with one out in the bottom of the 3rd and Smyly would get Pedroia to pop out for the 2nd out and struck out Adrian Gonzalez to get out of the inning as the Tigers had a 1-0 lead after 3 innings of play. Smyly pitched out of toruble again in the bottom of the 4th as the Sox stranded David Ortiz at 2nd base after he doubled with one out and we would go to the 5th inning with Detroit leading 1-0. The Tigers had runners at the corners with one out in the top of the 5th for Miguel Cabrera and Bard would bounce a ball to the plate that got away from Shoppach, Raburn tried to score form 3rd base but Shoppach would chase down the ball and make a great diving tag to get Raburn at the plate for the 2nd out and save a run. Cabrera would ground out to Aviles at SS to end the inning and the Tigers would blow a big chance as Bard gets out of trouble. Smyly made quick work of the Red Sox in the bottom of the 5th. The Tigers increased their lead to 3-0 in the top of the 6th after Bard issued a walk to Delmon Young and Brennan Boesch homered to CF. Back to back singled by Johny Peralta and Alex Avila gave the Tigers runners at the corners with one out but Bard would K Raburn and get Austin Jackson to ground out to end the inning with Detroit leading 3-0. Smyly would get Kevin Youkilis to hit into a 6-4-3 double play to end the bottom of the 6th and we would go to the 7th inning with the Tigers in top 3-0. Andrew Miller relieved Bard to begin the 7th and should have had a double play with nobody out but Kevin Youkilis made a wild throw to 2nd base and the Tigers suddenly had two men on with nobody out. The error proved costly as Prince Fielder blasted a 421 foot 3-run HR over the bullpens in RF as the Tigers extended their lead to 6-0. Drew Smyly should have been out of the 7th inning but Johny Peralta bounced a throw to 1st base that prolonged the inning and Mike Aviles delivered an RBI double to cut it to 6-1. Smyly would strikeout Jacoby Ellsbury to end the inning and we would head to the 8th inning with Detroit leading 6-1. Andrew Miller would get Andy Dirks to ground into a double play to end the top of the 8th. Octavio Dotel would enter with a 5 run lead to start the bottom of the 8th for Detroit and struck out the side to send the game to the 9th with the Red Sox trailing 6-1. Matt Albers came on to pitch the top of the 9th and Miguel Cabrera would leadoff with a solo HR into the monter seats to make it a 7-1 game. Detroit would add another run on an RBI single by Johny Peralta and we would go to the bottom of the 9th with the Red Sox trailing by a score of 8-1. Octavio Dotel made quick work of the Sox in the bottom of the 9th as The Tigers crush the Red Sox 8-1.
* The Tigers even up the series at a game apiece and tomorrows game will feature a great pitching matchup as Justin Verlander opposes Jon Lester in the 3rd game of this 4 game series. Lester has been slumping and will enter tomorrows game with an ERA of 7.00 in his last 4 starts.
* David Ortiz was 2 for 3 with a walk to raise his average to .246
* Kevin Youkilis was 0 for 4 with 3 K's and a costly error, he may get the day off tomorrow to clear his head and get Will Middlebrooks some at bats.
* Daniel Bard is 0-3 over his last 4 outings despite having a respectable 4.18 ERA in those starts

DETROI TIGERS @ BOSTON RED SOX
GAME #51 of the season (Pitching Matchup - Justin Verlander vs. Jon Lester)
The Red Sox and Tigers play the 3rd game of this 4 game series at Fenway Park with a big time pitching matchup as Justin Verlander opposes Jon Lester. The Tigers got a run in the 1st after Lester walked the bases loaded and Alex Avila hit a sac fly to CF to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead. Lester continued to struggle with his control and Prince Fielder blasted a 451 foot two run HR to make it 3-0 in the top of the 3rd. The Red Sox got on the board in the bottom of the 3rd when Adrian Gonzalez doubled down the RF line tos core 2 runs and the Tigers had a 3-2 lead at the end of 3 innings. Prince Fielder launched his 2nd two run HR of the game in the top of the 5th to make it 5-2. Verlander had 10 K's through 6 innings and it was 5-2 entering the 7th inning. Scott Atchison relieved Lester to begin the 7th and Prince Fielder hit his 3rd HR of the game to extend the Tigers lead to 6-2. Joaquin Benoit came on to relieve Verlander for the bottom of the 8th and got through the inning unscathed to send it to the 9th inning with the Tigers leading 6-2. Scott Atchison got the 1st two outs in the top of the 9th and then beaned Prince Fielder who had 3 HR in the game but there were no fireworks or ejections. Detroit stuck with Benoit to try and close the game out. The Red Sox got singles from Gonzalez and Youkilis in the bottom of the 9th and were down to their final out when Jim Leyland brought in Daniel Schlereth looking for the final out but Will Middlebrooks would line a double in to the gap to score 2-runs and cut the Tigers lead to 6-4. Tigers closer Jose Valverde would enter the game as Boston would bring the tying run to the plate as Jarrod Saltalamacchia stepped up to the plate. Saltalamacchia put on a great at bat as he worked a full count and on the 10th pitch of the at bat he got a pitch to hit and drove it deep to RF but it was a couple feet short of a game tying HR as Ryan Raburn caught ball on the just in front of the bullpen to end the game as the Tigers hold on for the 6-4 victory.
* Prince Fielder had a monster game as he blasted 3 HR and had 5 RBI. Fielder has 4 HR and 8 RBI in the last two games as he has feasted on Red Sox pitching in this series
* Jon Lester continues to struggle as he drops to 4-6 on the season with an ERA of 5.26. Lester has been the Red Sox worst member of the Red Sox rotation so far this season and has an ERA of 7.36 in his last 4 starts.
* Adrian Gonzalez has been on a hot streak and is hitting .395 over his last 10 games.

DETROI TIGERS @ BOSTON RED SOX
GAME #52 of the season (Pitching Matchup - Doug Fister vs. Josh Becket)
The Red Sox look to gain a split of this four game series as they face the Tigers in the series finale with Doug Fister and Josh Beckett set to face each other on the mound. Miguel Cabrera got the Tigers started with a solo HR into the monster seats with two outs in the top of the 1st. The Red Sox answered back as Jacoby Ellsbury led off the bottom of the 1st with a double off the green monster and he came around to score on an RBI single by Adrian Gonzalez to make it 1-1 after 1 inning. Brennan Boesch lined a solo HR opposite field into the monster seats with two outs in the top of the 3rd inning to put Detroit back on top 2-1. Beckett would get Alex Avila to ground out with two men on to end the top of the 3rd and avoid any further damage. The Red Sox got back to back singled by Punto and Ellsbury to begin the bottom of the 3rd but Fister would battle back with back to back to back strikeouts of Pedroia, Gonzalez and Ortiz to get out of the inning and we would head to the 4th inning with Detroit leading 2-1. The Red Sox had two men on with one out in the bottom of the 4th but Fister got Marlon Byrd to hit into an inning ending 5-4-3 double play and we would head to the 5th inning with the Tigers on top 2-1. Beckett got Miguel Cabrera to fly out to end the top of the 5th but was starting to tire as his pitch count was getting up there. Dustin Pedroia was on 1st base in the bottom of the 5th when Fister made a wild throw on a pickoff attempt that allowed Pedroia to get into scoring position and he came home on an RBI single by Adrian Gonzalez to tie the game at 2-2 after 5 innings of play. The Tigers had two men in scoring position with two outs in the top of the 6th and Ryan Raburn delivered a single to RF to score two runs and give the Tigers a 4-2 lead. Boston got back to back singles from Youkilis and Saltalamacchia to lead off the bottom of the 6th. Ryan Sweeney beat out a chopper over the mound and the Red Sox had the bases loaded with nobody out as Jim Leyland came out to get Fister and brought in Phil Coke from the pen. Byrd punched a single into RF to score Youkilis to make it 4-3 and the base were still loaded with nobody out. Nick Punto grounded into a 6-4-3 double play as the Tigers got two huge outs but Saltalamacchia scored to tie the game at 4-4. Jacoby Ellsbury was up next and Coke uncorked a wild pitch allowing Sweeney to score from 3rd and give the Red Sox a 5-4 lead as we would head to the 7th inning. Franklin Morales relieved Beckett to begin the top of the 7th and Austin Jackson led off with an infield single and moved to 2nd on a gorund out by Boesch. Miguel Cabrera drew a walk to give the Tigers two men on with one out. Prince Fielder thought he had a 3-run HR but the wind was blowing in and Jacoby Ellsbury caught the ball on the warning track in CF for the 2nd out as Jackson moved up to 3rd base. Alex Avila came up with runners on the corners and two outs in a big spot and hit a line drive that was snared by Nick Punto at SS as Morales gets out of a tough jam with the Red Sox leading 5-4. Brayan Villareal came on from the Detroit bullpen to pitch the bottom of the 7th and served up a HR to the 1st batter he faced as Dustin Pedroia hit a ball that was hooking down the LF line and bounced off the foul pole for a solo HR to make it 6-4. Vicente Padilla pitched a 1-2-3 top of the 8th for the Red Sox. Octavio Dotel came on for the bottom of the 8th for Detroit and got the 1st two outs before allowing a single to Byrd and walking Punto to bring up Jacoby Ellsbury with two men on and two out. Dotel struck out Ellsbury after a 9 pitch at bat and this game would head to the 9th inning with the Tigers needing two runs as they trail 6-4. Boston closer Alfredo Aceves entered the game looking to close this one out. Don Kelly led off the top of the 9th with a single and the Tigers would bring the tying run to the plate with the top of the order coming up. Aceves struck out Austin Jackson looking on a nasty cutter on the corner for the 1st out. Brennan Boesch drew a walk and the Tigers suddenly had two men on with one out and their big boppers due up in Miguel Cabrera and Prince Fielder. Boston pitching caoch Bob McClure made a visit to the mound to try and settle Aceves down and it paid off as Aceves got Cabrera to ground to Punto at SS who flipped to Pedroia at 2nd and Pedroia fired over to 1st base for the game ending 6-4-3 double play as Boston wins 6-4.
* The Red Sox win 6-4 to earn a split of this 4 game series. The Sox will head to Toronto for a 3 game series with the Blue Jays and will send Clay Buchholz to the mound in the opener
* The Tigers offense hit 10 HR off of Red Sox pitchers in this 4 game series. Miguel Cabrera and Prince Fielder combined to hit 7 of those HR
* Adrian Gonzalez went 2 for 4 with 2 RBI and is hitting .381 over his last 10 games.

Re: TNK - 2012 Realism Sliders Thread
TNK - RED SOX FRANCHISE
BOSTON RED SOX @ TORONTO BLUE JAYS
GAME #53 of the season (Pitching Matchup - Clay Buchholz vs. Brandon Morrow)
The Red Sox travel to Toronto to begin a 3 game series with the Blue Jays as Clay Buchholz and Brandon Morrow faceoff on the hill. Both pitchers were perfect through 2 innings as neither team had a baserunner heading into the 3rd inning. The Red Sox got a leadoff walk from Ryan Sweeney to begin the 3rd and Marlon Byrd followed with a single to RF to setup runners at the corners with nobody out. Mike Aviles beat out a double play to pickup the RBI as Boston took a 1-0 lead. Jacoby Ellsbury followed with a double to bring up Dustin Pedroia with two men in scoring position and one out. Pedroia hit a nubber in front of the plate and beat it out to 1st base but the runners had to stay and that loaded the bases for Adrian Gonzalez giving the Sox a golden opportunity. Gonzalez hit a rocket right to Escobar at SS who started the 6-4-3 double play and Morrow escapes the inning with just one run allowed as we go to the bottom of the 3rd with Boston up 1-0. Rajai Davis picked up the Jays 1st hit of the game in the bottom of the 3rd inning with a two out triple but Clay Buchholz would freeze Yunel Escobar with a curveball to end the inning and we would go to the 4th with Boston leading 1-0. The Red Sox had runners at the corners with two outs in the top of the 4th for Marlon Byrd who would ground out as Morrow escaped another jam to keep the score 1-0. Jose Bautista tied the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the 4th as Buchholz left a slider up in the zone and Bautista crushed it into the 2nd deck in LF for a solo HR. Buchholz would get through the inning and had himself 6 strikeouts through 4 innings of work as we would go to the 5th inning tied at 1-1. The score was still 1-1 after 6 innings of play as Morrow and Buchholz were both pitching extremely well. Brandon Morrow put together another 1-2-3 inning as he punched out Marlon Byrd for his 8th K of the game. Vicente Padilla relieved Buchholz who was out of gas to begin the bottom of the 7th and JP Arencibia gave the Jays the lead with one out in the inning as he hit a solo HR to LF to make it 2-1. Padilla would get through the rest of the inning and we would move on to the 8th inning with Toronto leading 2-1. Morrow had retired 11 straight Red Sox hitters until Dustin Pedroia singled with two outs in the 8th inning and Blue Jays manager John Farrell made the move to the pen as he called on Casey Janssen and Morrow left to a standing ovation. Adrian Gonzalez came up and Janssen got him to ground out to 1st base to end the top of the 8th with Toronto clinging to a 2-1 lead. Jose Bautista drew a walk with two outs in the bottom of the 8th and Sox manager Bobby Valentine brought in lefty Rich Hill to face Adam Lind looking for the final out of the inning. Lind gave the ball a ride but Ryan Sweeney made a nice running catch on the warning track to send the game to the 9th with Toronto leading 2-1. The Blue Jays closer Sergio Santos made his way in looking to close it out and record the save. David Ortiz led off the 9th for Boston with a single and the Sox had the tying run on base with nobody out. Darnell McDonald came in to run for Ortiz and Will Middlebrooks bunted him up into scoring position with one out. Jarrod Saltalamacchia was up next and he grounded out for the 2nd out of the inning and McDonald would move up to 3rd base. The Red Sox were down to their final out and Kevin Youkilis came up to pinch hit for Ryan Sweeney with the game on the line. Youkilis hit a weak fly ball to RF and Bautista came on to make the catch as the Blue Jays take game on of this series by a score of 2-1.
* Tough loss for the Red Sox as they held the Blue Jays to just 4 hits in the game and lost. Unfortunately, two of those hits were solo HRs

I highly suggest messing around with the CUSTOM CAMERA and batting from the view I am using......I started with the CATCHER CLASSIC camera and moved it around to get this view which helps you see the pitch coming in and identify balls and strikes better than the default viewComment
