    TNK - RED SOX FRANCHISE

GAME #2 (Pitching Matchup - Josh Beckett vs. Doug Fister)

The Red Sox strung together a double by Ortiz, a single by Sweeney and an RBI single by Saltalamacchia in the top of the 2nd inning to grab an early 1-0 lead. The Tigers answered in the bottom of the 2nd as they tied the game on an RBI single by Alex Avila but Beckett settled down and struck out Santiago and Jackson back to back to end the inning. Both Beckett and Fister got into grooves on the mound and the game was tied 1-1 after 6 innings. The game would go to the 8th inning tied at 1-1 and the Red Sox would get a couple men on as Saltalamacchia and Aviles singled with 1 out to bring up Jacoby Ellsbury, Darnell McDonald came on to run for Saltalamacchia and the Tigers would bring in Collin Balester from the pen to spell the end of the day for Fister who would leave after throwing 101 pitches. The Sox would grab the lead as Ellsbury drilled a single to RF and McDonald would just beat the throw to the plate to make it 2-1. Balester would get Pedroia to ground into an innning ending double play to escape further damage and we would move on to the bottom of the 8th with Boston leading 2-1. Beckett would remain in the game and the Tigers got a leadoff single from Jackson and Brennan Boesch followed him with a double to tie the game at 2-2. Beckett's day would come to an end after issuing a walk to Miguel Cabrera to bring up Prince Fielder with 2 on and nobody out as the Sox would bring in lefty Franklin Morales to face Fielder. Morales struggled to throw a strike and Fielder drew a walk to load the bases with nobody out and the Sox would turn to Mark Melancon to try and escape the jam. Melancon got Delmon Young to ground into a 6-4-3 double play but the run would score from 3rd base to give the Tigers a 3-2 lead. Ryan Raburn would fly out to end the inning as Melancon does a good job to get out of the bases loaded jam w/ no outs while allowing just 1 run to score. The Tigers would turn to Joaquin Benoit, Octavio Dotel and Phil Coke for the top of the 9th in a save situation instead of regular closer Jose Valverde and the Red Sox would go down 1-2-3 as the Tigers hold on for a 3-2 win to take the 1st two games of the season.

    * The Red Sox will send Clay Buchholz to the mound against Max Scherzer in tomorrows game as they look to avoid the sweep.

Great sliders TNK! I'm loving them once again this year. Right now I'm having only pitching duels. 9 k's or more for the cpu & user. Part of it is that I do chase, also contact doesn't work as well this year it seems.

I've played 8 games, 4 total home-runs were hit (2 by me, 2 by the cpu). It just seems pitching is too dominant and hitting isn't good enough.

Anybody have ideas on how to fix this? I'm thinking maybe the timing slider for both the cpu & user, this would create less k's and possibly produce more hits?

the only problem i'm having so far is too many singles. i've hit some good hard shots to the outfield but it seems like i can only get singles a lot of the time. same with the cpu, the ball seems to go too fast and bounces hard right to the fielder.. anyone else having this issue?

Hey Tnk, I have a question in regards to the rosters OSFM....it seems some people are changing the ratings, raising certain things like RTC, LTC Left Power, Right Power, ect......will this effect the sliders you have put together or not? thank you

I'm using timing but with hof pitching and getting great results. Check my franchise in my sig. I think the big thing is I have pitch speed at 3. In 4 chise games, I've scored 8, 13, 6, and 5 runs, while allowing 2, 3, 4, and 6 runs.

I'm going to play a few more games with Timing (which I used last year too) and make a final decision on what I want to stick with.

Sliders are great though. Been getting a lot of different variety game to game.
Please post your results for the games you play with Timing hitting... I'm intrigued to see what the results are.

I don't know specifically, just asking if you adjust the ratings, if it will effect the sliders.

I read several roster posts where individuals said they were raising the stamina, or lower power.....not trying to be difficult, just was curious how this could effect the sliders.

I've been playing with timing hitting for the last couple days (prob 10+ games) results are good. Plenty of close low scoring pitcher duels. Still getting HR's and doubles as well.

Hey Tone Loc have you noticed somewhat deep fly balls that look like they should be caught that cause your OF to go into an animation with his glove up, but the ball lands over thier head? Its getting annoying! Blew a perfect game for me the other day into the 8th!

Me to i'm playing with timing and ofsm roster and i Find really low score between teams and nice battle between pitchers and hitters.
Me to i saw glove up and ball missed on the head nearly five or six Times. Really annoying thing.

Any changes to ratings can effect the sliders to a certain degree I guess......I can't see it throwing the sliders too far out of whack though

I haven't seen that animation a lot.....just a couple times.....I think it has more to do with the way you track the fly ball and your positioning

You playing "Assisted" or "manual" fielding?
