Nice. Thanks. Any stats that occur much less than once per game per team takes a lot more games to nail down, so more the better...

      Nomo,

I'm giving these a try for the next couple of weeks. I will at a minimum post box scores for everyones observations. thanks for your input and hard work to help us tweak an already really good game.

Thank you. If you actually watch those games, I'm keen to hear what you think about how the game actually plays out. I can keep racking up stats by playing them on Vita while I do other stuff, but I haven't been able to spend as much time actually watching/playing this years game yet.

So anything you notice, like how outfielders may still be too fast, arms too weak, certain plays not coming as often as you'd see in real life, I'd appreciate that sort of feedback.

Re: Stats-Based CPU Sliders [MLB 12 Version]

Just finished what i think was a really good game. Royals 2, Tigers 1. here are some stats, then i have to give my recap.

          hits Royals 6 Tigers 5
          hrs Royals 1 Tigers 1
          k's Royals 5 Tigers 3
          BB royals 4 Tigers 3
          no errors for either team

the Royals led 1-0 until the 9th inning, when Fielder hits an absolute bomb to Right center off of Soria to tie the game. funny thing, I saw several warning track fly balls from both teams, and the Tigers grounded into 3 dps. The Royals win on a Walk off hr to left by Salvador Sanchez. all in all, I'm happy with my first game with the new slider set....

It does seem that the double play issue is not going away.....may take a patch.

One thing about pitching change that I noticed in previous years and still happening.

When the CPU team is winning in a save situation in the 9th, he somehow brings in a couple RPs before going with the CP for the last out.

I don't know why CPU does this, when he should just go with his CP at the start of the 9th.

                nomo,
just to clarify, I'm using default only (pitch speed 10). after that game last night, I'm interested to see what comes over the next two weeks or so. I will post stats for each game. I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to see a bigger sample from those sliders (unless you already got one!!). I want as close to real life baseball as possible, and that one game was very, very realistic to me. but now I want variety, as well. shouldn't be too much to ask for....or is it?

Yeah the bottom line is you should do whatever you think gives you the most enjoyment. You might think I'm actually nitpicky and suffering from slideritis, but I'm actually totally fine with the default the way they are. As you see in the stats, the devs really do a great job of replicating real-life stats.

Having said that, my new set is also working well so far, seeing the improvements in most areas that I wanted to see. Will post stats with an intermediate impression once I get around 30 games in, perhaps later this evening...

But the differences are subtle, so you probably don't notice those under-the-hood improvements in a short run.

hey nomo i was wandering if pitch speed at 10 makes the ball come off the bat hotter. everybody is hitting the ball hard just played a couple of more spring training games and coco crisp and loney are launching 400+ bombs. but not so much that as the pace the ball is coming off the bat bothers me a little bit. do you think its the ball physics? it feels right now like the ncaa world series. thanks im using youre slider set. and the wind has not been a factor 2mph out 7 mph cross.

                      Wind: 5
                      Injury Frequency: 5

                      My reasoning for the changes:

By lowering Contact, I hope to reduce batting average while increasing swing & miss which should lead to more Ks.

By lowering Pitcher Consistency, I hope to induce more walks, and slightly lower strike percentage as well. Likely not enough, but this should also increase HBPs and WPs a bit.

I see more throwing errors happening than fielding errors. The overall number of errors seems to be fine, but for now I'll just increase Fielding Errors to see how things go.

Decreasing Fielder Run Speed is largely aesthetic, but this might produce a little more XBHs. I don't wish to increase triples, but I can have more doubles.

Decreasing Fielder Arm Strength is also aesthetic but it's obvious arms are too strong so this is justified. Hopefully this contributes to slightly more XBHs, and reduce GIDPs on bang-bang plays at 1B.

Increasing BR Steal Frequency to increase steal attempts.
I'm curious to see your results regarding the lower arm strength. otherwise, these should make for some interesting results.

Pitch Speed slider only adjust how fast the pitch travels as seen by HUM gamer and does not affect anything else. That's just straight from the in-game slider description.

After 10 games and if you see Coco hitting 5 HRs, I'd be worried but not by a couple games..

I'm currently 23 games in. So far great except I want to reduce GIDPs and Ks, and see a bit more doubles..... Everything else has been playing as I hoped.
