Classic pitching is the best way to use a players actual ratings. Learn to use classic with the correct pressing of the x button and things will change for you for sure.

what is the correct pressing of the x button? i know hold to it vibrate is max effort tap for regualr but is there anything else I need to know? my team era through six games is around 7 i can score but my pitching is not doing that well lol i love it though these sliders is the most authentic i seen on any sports games

I started a new RTTS and tried classic again. I think I've found a medium between max effort and regular and it seems to be working. I'm using max effort on 0-2, and 1-2 counts and seeing realistic results.

It's definitely different actually walking people, but at least it's realistic. Nice work on these sliders.

Just so everyone knows, authentic and I are also working on an All-Star set. It will be just as realistic and simulation-like. We just believe you can get more upsets and less predictable games while having the fun and realism of baseball. It is just in testing now and I will update when we get more information and results with it.

I appreciate that. I like what you guys are trying to do, I just don't think I have the skill to play this game above the All-Star level. Pitching for me at HoF, especially with Classic pitching, is just terrible, walking everything, so I very much look forward to seeing what you guys come up with for All-star sliders.

Guys, I can't say enough about the stuff we have figured out in the last couple days. We are learning things about this game, and testing to the farthest extent. Hours upon hours of testing. We have some great surprises for you guys. I think this upcoming set is going to catch a lot of peoples attention. I will explain into more detail, but I will have an explained analysis of my findings. Live and I have both split up testing into two parts, so I'm sure he'll have to explain some things as well. Stay tuned to the thread, you don't want to miss this!

A couple things to look for in the next update, more like hints:

-live and authentic's realism pitching 2.0

-realistic player movement

-realistic base hits

-fluid, MLB style baseball

-less canned animations

The All Star set has been posted.

Here's the deal, as we want to keep visuals down, do a custom camera for pitching and make the analog pitching meter as small as possible. Then put it on the bottom on either side, your preference. Our rule is this, use warm ups to gauge your pitcher and timing. When the game starts, don't look at it. Good luck!

Personally, as much as I LOVED our HoF set, this AS set is top notch. I'm in love with pitching and the hitting is just as good. I may have to run two franchises to use these both..

I recommend everyone to give the AS set a try, and don't cheat yourselves. Pitch without looking at the meter. Maybe look at it during your warmup pitches for muscle/visual memory but after that, give it a go! I walked 7 with Matt Cain in 7 innings, yet picked up the W in a 1-0 win. Next game? Slaughtered by the Rockies, 9-4 as Lincecum couldn't get out of the 4th, only walking 2.

Yeah, use the meter during your warm ups. Get the timing down. After that, go by instinct. Take a look at your meter when your throwing your first pitching in the stretch to see how far down the bar is, but take your eyes off it once you start to throw your pitch.

Pitch Speed is all I can think of. I used to use Zone-Analog and I could use most sliders well. I urge you to try timing hitting with 10 pitch speed.
