REJOICE PEOPLE - It's Franchise time......I'm gonna spend a day or two fine tuning and updating equipment, setting lineups/rotations and getting everything as perfect as possible and then I'll be beginning my Red Sox franchise.

I will be posting boxscores thorughout my franchise and will post periodic updates with Standings / Stats / League Leaders / Etc in this thread to track my franchise and show how the sliders are producing over the long haul.
Will you be starting from Spring Training? Or skipping right to Opening Day>?

I've always used analog hitting with his sliders, this year so far I'm still tweaking his pitch speed tho. 8 is too fast when you are going against hard throwers, it's almost impossible to lay off junk when your constantly trying to catch up to high 90s heat using analog.

These are BY FAR the best sliders I've tried. I've played multiple games and I'm always getting a different result. I can steal bases, throw guys out, and hit and run just like I want. Plays great. Thanks for all the time you put into these.

            • I swing "early" pretty much 90% of the time. What can I do to help that? Just more discipline by me to swing later or what? I have setup a custom camera that I like, but if changing that could help, I'm open to that too.
            • Any tips for pitch recognition, as far as pitch type and location. I'm trying to watch ball out of pitcher's hand, and getting a little better. Still swing at some crazy bad pitches. Only get walked about once per game.
            • Then, we got swing type. When should I use Power swing? Normal swing? Contact swing? I've been using Power on 0 strike counts, then 1 strike counts with true power hitters. Then using contact for all 2 strike counts. Then normal for every other situation.
Swing early - the biggest thing to remember when swinging too early is what type of pitches you are swinging too early against. If you are swinging too early against fastballs then you should just try and be a tad more patient. If it is against off speed (change ups, curves) then it's just how it goes. When you sit fastball and look fastball you are going to look silly when they throw off speed. While it's not always the case, a good indication of what could be coming is looking at the count. If you are in a hitters count (3-0, 3-1), you can probably expect fastball. Likewise, if you are behind 0-2,1-2 the pitcher has a few balls to play with and won't be so inclined to hit the strike zone.

This goes into pitch recognition. Know your count, and know the pitch types that the pitcher throws. If a guy only has a 4 seamer, 2 seamer, and a slider, then anything that looks slower is going to be the slider. A good at bat doesn't have to result in a base hit. You could have a 9 pitch strike out, but you've also seen various pitches, speeds, and how they look in certain areas.

I never use power swing. There is no need for it. I can hit plenty of home runs on normal contact and I can hit gappers with contact swinging (depending on the player). If you want to use a power swing it would be in the hitter counts as stated above. If you are behind in the count, and you don't have a great hitter, you want to use contact so you can either get a soft hit, or you can work the pitch count and foul off a few pitches.

If you need more tips, feel free to shoot me a PM

Great great great sliders. I love the way the game has opened up with reduced throwing power and hard contact. I can actually reach 2B standing up on a drive down the line into the corner (on default sliders this was always a close play at 2B it seemed, or I got gunned down). Also the hit variety is incredible.

My only complaint, and it's been this way with every slider set I tested, the CPU pitcher throws striker after strike. I never draw more than 2 walks per game. This could be my approach at the plate, I'm chasing too many "balls", but the CPU also hits the corners far too often for my taste.

Alot of drawing walks is also laying off strikes that aren't good pitches too hit. I struggle taking pitches too, but 4 pitch walks aren't common IRL either.

Loving the hitting camera angle. I can actually hit the ball, draw walks, and not swing at wild pitches. Thanks for these sliders bro.

Are these sliders still good with regular camera angles?

Yes, I have had very good results with these. Just not as many walks as hoped. Still great though.

I use timing. Anyone adjust any of the hit sliders? Im through 3, no hits but 2 walks.

Edit: im not looking to adjust i just didnt know if the different hitting type would allow same results.

Anybody having problems with walks - the problem is that you need to be more patient and get better at pitch recognition.

When I am on my game and being very selective at the plate - I have drawn more than 5 walks in a game.

Pitching - you need to not aim every pitch for a strike......throw the ball off the plate more and you will issue walks.

IT'S NOT A SLIDER ISSUE......not with any set......it's more of a video game issue in general and a matter of the user trying to paint with every pitch.

Don't be afraid to issue a walk if you fall behind 2-0 to a stud hitter.....instead of grooving a fastball over the plate, throw another one off the plate and put the guy on

What are you doing with players like A-Rod and Jeter for your first game against the Yanks? You just leaving them in the lineup or moving them to DL?
