First 4 games of my Redsox Franchise. Avg. 4 hits per game. Solid hits are fly outs or hard ground balls.

I'm telling you - the K's are there......it's all about pitching smarter and throwing balls on purpose.

Don't fall into the habit of trying to paint every pitch on the corner for a strike
Yes, the strikeouts are def there. Increasing confidence in your pitching helps a great deal.

It's not the sliders - you need to get better at hitting man.....every time I have tough games hitting - it's because I'm not being patient

You can bump up contact and power 1 click and then move it back down when you get better

This is my firts time playing The Show on the PS Vita. I dont why or how, but I hit the ball way better on the Vita with this sliders. Last year on the PS3 i was horrible on the plate. The only change i made was Human Pitch Control to 4 and the Human Pitch Consistency to 5 because i have so many problems when a throw the ball. Now my game experiencie is competitive.

Game 10 of my franchise with this slider set. Currently 8-2 with a 5 game winning streak. Pitching has been key for these games so far.

How you getting 10 Hit a game with Zone hitting? Are you seeing many hit types? I just switched to timed hitting to see of I generate more hits.

just lost Dempster for 4 weeks, and then Lackey follows up a terrible start against Toronto by giving up 10 in 2 2/3 to Cleveland. yeesh. time to hit up Pawtucket for help!

Take a strike, get to a favorable 2-0 or 2-1 count and look for a pitch in the zone that you can drive.
Great advice! I turned off guess pitch for the first about 2 years ago after using it for years, and it improved my hitting way more than I thought possible! I started drawing 2+ walks a game, and my patience at the plate, especially waiting for a good pitch to hit resulted in way more hits, runs, etc... Definitely give it a shot and let us know what you find!

Just being patient. Taking pitches. Trying to notice patterns. I really don't have a definite answer. As far as hit types? I'm seeing all kinds. Hard grounders, hard line drives, bloops etc. Even the occasional home run. ( I think I'm leading the AL with Napoli.) The variety of hits is really, really good.
My only "complaint" would be that pitching seems a little easy. I shrunk the pitching meter a couple of games ago and that seems to be helping.

I'm getting some great variety on the pitching side of things.

Of course I turn the API on and only throw what my catcher calls. I've had a game with C.C. Where he gave up 7ER in just 1.2 IP, only to come back his next start and throw a one run CG with 8 or 9K's.

TNK - BOSTON RED SOX FRANCHISE

Game #8 of the Season - Baltimore Orioles @ Boston Red Sox

Pitching Matchup - Jake Arrieta vs. Ryan Dempster

The Red Sox look to get back in the win column as they play the Orioles in game 2 of this 3 game series. Ryan Dempster faces Jake Arrieta on the mound and Stephen Drew makes his Boston debut at SS after missing the first 7 games of the season recovering from a concussion suffered in Spring Training.

                            * Boston took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st inning as Victorino doubled down the LF line with 1 out and came in to score on an RBI single to CF by Napoli.

                            * Adam Jones started the top of the 2nd inning with a grueling 13 pitch at bat as he fouled off a bunch of tough pitches before finally flying out to Ellsbury in CF. JJ Hardy had a 10 pitch at bat later in the inning before Dempster got him to ground out and the Orioles were doing a great job of making Dempster work as they had him up to 44 pitches thrown through just 2 innings of work on the mound.

                            * Ryan Flaherty double to lead off the top of the 3rd and moved up to 3rd on a sac fly to RF by Steve Pearce. Dempster got a huge strikeout of Nate McLouth as he froze him with a two seam fastball on the inside corner. Dempster then got Manny Machado to chase a slider for a K to end the inning and tight rope out of danger to keep the score 1-0.

                            * The Red Sox got a lead off double from Mike Napoli in the bottom of the 4th. Arietta would would strikeout Middlebrooks and then Daniel Nava was robed of a base hit and RBI on a great diving catch by McLouth in LF for the 2nd out. Jarrod Saltalamacchia was up next and he drove a fastball opposite way in to the green monster seats for a 2-run HR to extend the Sox lead to 3-0.

                            * The Orioles got a double from JJ Hardy with one out in the top of the 5th but Dempster would come back with back to back strikeouts of Flaherty and Pearce to end the inning and keep the score 3-0. Dempster is up to 95 pitches through 5 innings as the Orioles have made him work very hard to record his outs.

                            * Jacoby Ellsbury tripled with one out in the bottom of the 5th as he hit a ball high off the monster in left center. Shane Victorino was up next and he did his job as he put the ball in play to pickup an RBI on a groundball out to the right side to make it 4-0. Dustin Pedroia and Mike Napoli followed with back to back singles to bring up Daniel Nava with two outs and Buck Showalter would bring in T.J. McFarland from the bullpen. McFarland got Will Middlebrooks to chase a slider in the dirt to end the inning and we would go to the 6th with Boston leading 4-0.

                            * Baltimore got back to back singles to begin the top of the 6th to setup runners on the corners with nobody out. Nick Markakis followed with an RBI single to make it a 4-1 game. Dempster got a huge double play when he got Adam Jones to pound a splitter into the dirt as Drew & Pedroia turned a nice 6-4-3 double play to get two outs. Dempster finished his night by striking out Chris Davis for his 8th K of the game after a rough start to the inning and he would leave the game after 6 gutsy innings with a 4-1 lead.

                            * The Red Sox stranded runners on 2nd & 3rd in the bottom of the 6th as McFarland got Ellsbury to ground out to Flaherty to end the inning.

                            * Koji Uehara took over on the mound for Boston in the top of the 7th was outstanding as he struck out the side for a 1-2-3 inning.

                            * The Red Sox added to their lead in the bottom of the 7th as Shane Victorino singled to lead off the inning, stole 2nd and came in to score on an RBI double by Pedroia to make it 5-1. Troy Patton relieved Tommy Hunter on the mound and got Nava to hit into a double play to end the inning with two men on base and we would go to the 8th inning with Boston leading 5-1.

                            * Uehara remained in the game for the top of the 8th and got the 1st out before Nate McLouth doubled down the LF line with one out. Manny Machado grounded out to Pedroia for the 2nd out as McLouth moved up to 3rd base. Nick Markakis grounded out to end the inning as Uehara gives the Red Sox 2 strong innings out of the pen.

                            * Troy Patton gave up a lead off single to Saltalamacchia in the bottom of the 8th but got Stephen Drew to hit into a 4-6-3 double play. Jackie Bradley then singled and stole 2nd base but Patton would get Ellsbury to ground out to Flaherty to end the inning and we would go to the 9th with the Red Sox leading 5-1.

                            * The Orioles would come up in the top of the 9th trailing by 4 runs and the Red Sox would give the ball to Alfredo Aceves in the non save situation with closer Joel Hanrahan loosening up in the pen in the event that the Orioles make some noise. Adam Jones grounded out to Middlebrooks for the 1st out. Aceves got Chris Davis to ground out to Drew at SS and the Orioles were down to their final out. Aceves left a fastball up in the zone to Matt Wieters and he unloaded on it for a solo HR into the Red Sox bullpen to cut the lead to 5-2 with two outs. JJ hardy was up next and Aceves got him to chop one back to the mound for the final out as the Red Sox win 5-2.

The Red Sox and Orioles will play the rubber match of this 3 game series tomorrow as the Sox will send Felix Doubront to the mound against Jason Hammel for the Orioles

Of course I turn the API on and only throw what my catcher calls. I've had a game with C.C. Where he gave up 7ER in just 1.2 IP, only to come back his next start and throw a one run CG with 8 or 9K's.
                              THAT'S AWESOME!!!

I love that I can't just mow guys down with my ace every time he goes out.....I also love when my closer is lights out one game against the heart of the order and then the bottom of a teams order tees off on him in another game......REALISM!!!

Totally agree, what made it even better was the very first batter he faced in that CG was Danny Valencia who hit a hr to start the game. I was life #@&!, here we go again but he only allowed two more hits all game for his first win of the year.

And to add a little more variety he had a mix of those two outings on opening day against your Sox. He went 7.1 innings but allowed 5 ER, yet he struck out 7.
