    Hm. Weird.
You need to hit better.....are you drawing walks? Usually when someone is struggling to hit (myself included)....it's because you are not being patient and waiting for the right pitch to hit

You can increase USER CONTACT one click and try it for a few games.....you don't have to leave every slider exactly as is....feel free to modify them slightly to get the game where you need it to be.

But honestly - it's probably just a matter of you needing to improve your hitting a little bit....just don't go crazy making too many changes to sliders (keep it to 1 slider 1 click at a time) and give them 5 games or so to analyze the results

TNK - BOSTON RED SOX FRANCHISE

Game #4 of the Season - Boston Red Sox @ Toronto Blue Jays

Pitching Matchup - Felix Doubront vs. Josh Johnson

      * Toronto wasted no time in the bottom of the 1st as Jose Reyes singled to lead off, stole 2nd base and came in to score on an RBI single by Melky Cabrera to give the Jays a 1-0 lead before Doubront could record an out. Doubront responded with back to back K's of Jose Bautista and Edwin Encarnacion before getting Brett Lawrie to ground out to end the inning and the Blue Jays had a 1-0 lead after 1 inning.

      * The Red Sox stranded two base runners when Josh Johnson struck out Jackie Bradley to end the top of the 2nd. Felix Doubront pitched a 1-2-3 bottom of the inning to send the game to the 3rd inning with Toronto up 1-0.

      * The Red Sox got 3 straight singles from Iglesias, Ellsbury and Nava to begin the top of the 3rd and load the bases with nobody out. Dustin Pedroia fell behind 0 & 2 in the count but was able to bloop make contact and blooped a single into CF that fell right in between Reyes, Izturis and Rasmus who all converged on the ball and Iglesias scored to tie the game at 1-1 and the bases remained loaded. Mike Napoli bounced into a 6-4-3 double play for 2 huge outs but Ellsbury would score to give Boston a 2-1 lead. Johnson would get Saltalamacchia to fly out to deep CF to end the inning and minimize the damage.

      * Doubront issued a 2 out walk to Cabrera in the bottom of the 3rd but would get Bautista to ground out to Middlebrooks to end the inning and we would go to the 4th inning with Boston leading 2-1.

      * The Blue Jays offense jumped all over Doubront in the bottom of the 5th. Doubront hung a curveball to Colby Rasmus leading off the inning and Rasmus crushed the ball 414 feet for a solo HR to CF to tie the game at 2-2. Mark DeRosa made a bid for back to back HRs but the ball just stayed in the park as it hit the LF wall for a double. Doubront would get Izturis and Reyes to ground out as DeRosa advanced to 3rd base. Melky Cabrera delivered an RBI single with two outs as he lofted a flare into RF to giev the Jays a 3-2 lead. Jose Bautista was up next and he crushed a fastball for a 2-run HR to LF to increase the Jays lead to 5-2. Edwin Encarnacion singled and Doubront hung a curveball to JP Arencibia who launched the Blue Jays 3rd HR of the inning to make it 7-2 and knock Doubront out of the game as Toronto has exploded for 6 runs in the inning. Alfredo Aceves replaced Doubront on the mound and struck out Lawrie to finally end the inning after the Jays sent 10 men to the plate in the inning and had a 7-2 lead at the end of 5 innings of play.

      * Josh Johnson was still in the game in the top of the 8th and issued his 4th walk of the game. Mike Napoli delivered an RBI single with 2 outs to cut the deficit to 7-3 but Johnson would get out of the inning as he got Saltalamacchia to fly out on his 105th pitch of the game.

      * Colby Rasmus hit his 2nd HR of the game in the bottom of the 8th off Clayton Mortensen to make it an 8-3 game.

      * The Blue Jays handed the ball to Steve Delabar out of the pen for the top of the 9th with an 8-3 lead and he pitched a 1-2-3 inning as the Sox go quietly in their final at bat as Toronto wins 8-3 to hand the Red Sox their 1st defeat of the season.

The Red Sox will look to get back on track tomorrow as John Lackey makes his return to the mound after missing all of the 2012 season following Tommy John surgery. The Blue Jays will counter with JA Happ making his 1st start of the season

Yeah I draw around 3 walks a game. But for some reason, I just can't get it. haha Guess I need to knock off some of the rust in my game! :P Regardless, your sliders are awesome. Best gameplay I've had so far.

I hear ya.....it happens to the best of us.....you have to be patient and not get too swing happy trying too hard to knock in the runs.

Just sit back and let the pitcher come to you instead of trying to jump all over every pitch in clutch situations.

I usually don't even swing until I get a strike, especially with men in scoring position.....sometimes by refusing to swing I end up finding myself in some 2 & 0 counts and in the drivers seat for a fastball over the plate......that's when you end up putting up runs

For what it's worth for those struggling with identifying pitch locations and getting solid contact...

I have traditionally lowered the pitch speed down in the past because my reaction time is just not as good as it used to be. I wont say HOW low, but significantly lower than probably most of you

Now here is the thing though, I decided to actually increase it a couple notches over the last few games and was actually surprised at how much faster and easier it is to pick up the pitches! Breaking balls break almost immediately out of the pitchers hand and you can quickly determine low pitches and outside pitches.

Seemed opposite of what you would think, but increasing pitch speed has improved my vision and I have drawn way more more walks. give it a shot and see it is helps!

Try playing with the Cubs, im 30th in every hitting category.

Try facing some # 4 or 5 starters since Hernandez and Worley are those team's aces.

So I am 4 games in to my Cubs Franchise and I am doing much better than the actual team is. I have done well with hitting and have 8 homeruns through 4 games along with 20 runs. I scored a big 14-2 win over the Pirates in game two. I do not seem to walk that many guys though and am looking for some ideas on how to do that without letting the integrity of my pitching game go. I knows its only 4 games, but I am spot on the meter pitching and think it may be too accurate?

                    TNK,

I am finding that if I have a runner on 2nd and get a base hit, that I often need to put on the breaks at third because the fielder is getting on the ball and getting it in too quick to make it home. Unless I have a speed demon on second then I generally either need to put up the stop sign or most likely get tagged out at the plate.

could this be an effect of increasing solid hits? ball is getting out there with more smoke coming off of it and fielders are getting to it quicker. should i lower the arm strength or fielder speed to compensate for solid hits?

It's a game issue with runners slowing down coming around 3rd base.....not a slider issue

Try advancing using the L1 button but you have to be aware and manually send the other guys back individually to bases if you don't want them advancing as well. It's easy when you are scoring from 2nd and only have to worry about the hitter rounding first.....then it's PRESS L1 to advance all, tap right on the right analog and hit the button for 1st base to send that runner back to 1st

Pitch off the plate more......don't try to throw a strike every pitch

thanks. I use pure analog pitch, zone hitting and pitch speed10.
                              I'll try on hof.

TNK - BOSTON RED SOX FRANCHISE

Game #5 of the Season - Boston Red Sox @ Toronto Blue Jays

Pitching Matchup - John Lackey vs. J.A. Happ

John Lackey is making his 1st start in over a year after missing the entire 2012 season recovering from Tommy John surgery and will be opposed on the mound by J.A. Happ for Toronto in a match up of #5 starters.

                                * The Red Sox opened the scoring in the top of the 2nd inning as Mike Napoli was hit on the foot by a pitch to lead off the inning and Will Middlebrooks sat on a hanging curve from Happ and drove it over the fence in CF for a 2-run HR. Jonny Gomes made a bid for back to back homers but Colby Rasmus caught the ball against the wall in CF for the out. Jackie Bradley tripled with two outs but Happ would strike out Pedro Ciriaco get out of the inning with Boston leading 2-0.

                                * John Lackey was sharp early as he got a beautiful double play turned by Pedroia and Ciriaco and then struck out Brett Lawrie looking on a nasty curve ball to end the 2nd inning with the Sox on top 2-0.

                                * J.A. Happ was struggling in the top of the 4th as he gave up 3 straight doubles as Jonny Gomes crushed a ball off the wall in LF. David Ross followed with an RBI double to drive in Gomes and Jackie Bradley dropped a ball into shallow LF that hit right on the foul line that scored Ross to make it 4-0 and knock Happ out of the game as Blue Jays skipper John Gibbons brought in Dave Bush from the pen to try and stop the bleeding and he would get the final two outs before the score got out of reach.

                                * Emilio Bonfacio doubled to lead off the bottom of the 4th and Jose Bautista crushed a 2-run HR to cut the score to 4-2 with nobody out. Lackey came back to strike out the next 3 batters and get out of the inning with the Red Sox leading 4-2 after 4 innings.

                                * Bush struck out the side in the top of the 5th and Lackey pitched around a single by Henry Blanco in the bottom of the inning to send the game to the 6th with Boston leading 4-2.

                                * Dave Bush was pitching lights out out of the Toronto pen as he set down 8 straight Red Sox batters and had 6 K's in 2 and 1/3 innings without allowing a base runner to keep the Jays in the game and silence the Boston bats.

                                * Lackey got the 1st out in the bottom of the 6th before the Blue Jays got a single from Bautista and a double from Encarnacion to setup men on 2nd & 3rd with one out for Adam Lind. Red Sox manager John Farrell came to the mound and made the move to Andrew Miller with lefty Adam Lind coming up to the plate. Miller did his job and froze Lind with a 97 mph fastball on the outside corner after showing him 3 straight sliders for a huge 2nd out of the inning and then jammed Melky Cabrera in on the hands to induce a ground out to Pedroia to get out of the jam as the Jays strand a pair in scoring position and we would go to the 7th inning with the Red Sox holding a 4-2 lead.

                                * Jacoby Ellsbury singled off of Bush with two outs in the top of the 7th and stole 2nd base but Bush would get Victorino to ground out to end the inning.

                                * Miller remained on the mound for Boston and he got the 1st two outs with ease. Junichi Tazawa would come in to face Henry Blanco and Tazawa struck him out to send the game to the 8th inning with Boston leading 4-2.

                                * Sergio Santos came on to pitch the top of the 8th for Toronto and got the 1st two outs before surrendering a single to Middlebrooks after long battle. Jonny Gomes was up next and Santos got him swinging at a 96 mph fastball to end the inning as the Toronto bullpen has been lights out.

                                * Andrew Bailey took the mound for the bottom of the 8th for the Red Sox as the Jays would have the top of the order coming up. Bailey got Jose Reyes to ground out to begin the inning before Bonifacio lined a one out single into CF to bring the tying run to the plate in Jose Bautista for a huge at bat in this game. Bailey left a cutter up in the zone and Bautista lined it into the gap in LF for a double to put setup runners on 2nd & 3rd with one out for Edwin Encarnacion. Rajai Davis came in to pinch run for Bautista as the tying run at 2nd base. Encarnacion grounded out to Ciriaco at SS and Bonifacio came in to score and cut the Sox lead to 4-3. Bailey kept his composure in a tough spot and ran a fastball inside to Adam Lind and got him to fly out to Victorino is RF for the final out of the inning and we would go to the 9th inning with the Sox leading 4-3 in a nail biter.

                                * Santos got the 1st two outs in the top of the 9th and Mike Carp would be called on to pinch hit for Pedro Ciriaco and he would ground out to end the inning. The game would go to the bottom of the 9th with the Blue Jays needing a run as they trailed 4-3.

                                * Boston closer Joel Hanrahan would come in for the bottom of the 9th looking to record the save and Jose Iglesias would take over at SS as the Red Sox lead 4-3. Melky Cabrera singled to LF to begin the inning and the Jays had the tying run on base. Brett Lawrie hit a slow roller to 1st base and Napoli only had the play at 1st base to record the 1st out as Cabrera moved into scoring position. Colby Rasmus put up a good at bat but Hanrahan got him swinging at a 98 mph fastball on the 8th pitch of the at bat for the 2nd out and the Blue Jays were down to their final out. Maicer Izturis was called on to pinch hit for Henry Blanco with the game on the line and the tying run on 2nd base. Hanrahan made a good pitch as he ran a fastball in on the hands but Izturis was able to fight it off and line an RBI single into CF as Cabrera came home to score and tie the game up at 4-4 as Hanrahan will be charged with a blown save. Hanrahan struck out Jose Reyes to end the inning but we were headed to extra innings with the score tied 4-4.

                                * Dustin Pedroia doubled in the top of the 10th but Santos would get Napoli to pop up to strand Pedroia in scoring position.

                                * Clayton Mortensen took over on the mound for Boston and he gave up a lead off single to Bonifacio in the bottom of the 10th. Bonifacio stole 2nd to move into scoring position with nobody out. Rajai Davis flew out to CF and Bonifacio would move up to 3rd base. Red Sox manager John Farrell made the call to intentionally walk Encarnacion and Lind to load the bases with one out looking to get the double play or possibly a force out at home plate. The Rogers Centre crowd was going crazy as Melky Cabrera came up to the plate with a chance to win the game. Cabrera worked his way to a full count and Mortensen got Cabrera to hit a ground ball to Napoli at 1st base and he came home for the force at the plate for the 2nd out. Brett Lawrie was next up with the bases still loaded and two outs and Mortensen got Lawrie to chase a slider out of the zone for a HUGE STRIKEOUT as the Jays blow a golden opportunity to win the game and we would go to the 11th inning.

                                * Will Middlebrooks came within inches of his 2nd HR of the game as he hit a wall ball double off Darren Oliver to lead off the top of the 11th. Jonny Gomes sac bunted Middlebrooks over to 3rd base. David Ross came up and the Jays pulled the infield in and Ross grounded to Bonifacio who threw home to nail Middlebrooks at the plate. Oliver then struck out Bradley to escape the inning with the score still tied at 4-4.

                                * Jose Reyes doubled with two outs in the bottom of the 11th and Bonifacio walked to setup runners at 1st & 2nd with two outs. Koji Uehara came in to replace Mortensen on the mound and face Rajai Davis who was hitting in Jose Bautista's spot in the order and Davis would pop out to Napoli to end the inning as we would go to the 12th inning tied at 4-4.

                                * Jose Iglesias singled to lead off the 12th for Boston and he would come in to score as Dustin Pedroia delivered a huge RBI double with two outs to give the Red Sox a 5-4 lead. Esmil Rogers came in and struck out Napoli to end the inning.

                                * Koji Uehara remained in the game for the bottom of the 12th and got Encarnacion to ground out to begin the inning for the 1st out. Adam Lind was up next and he grounded out to Iglesias at SS for the 2nd out as the Jays were down to their final out once again. Uehara threw nothing but splitters to Melky Cabrera and got the final out as Cabrera hit a chopper to Iglesias at SS who fired across to Napoli for the final out as the Red Sox win a thriller 5-4 in 12 innings.

                                * THIS WAS AN AMAZING GAME!!!! HANDS DOWN THE BEST & MOST INTENSE GAME I HAVE PLAYED IN A LONG TIME

The Sox and Jays will play the rubber match of the series tomorrow as Jon Lester faces R.A. Dickey in a battle of aces
