Re: TNK - 2013 REALISM SLIDERS
I just don't get it, I'm also using the hybrid roster so that can't be it.
How long are you holding the buttons when you throw? I just tap it every time, unless it's a outfield throw.

Re: TNK - 2013 REALISM SLIDERS
I mean, I'm perfect double play depth away from 2nd, tap to Weeks/Segura, off the bag. I had a play where Weeks came in to field the ball, 4-5 feet way from 1st, tap to Hart, ball flies over his head. I can see maybe Ramirez's errors being a case of holding the button too long, or maybe 1 of Segura's where he pulled Hart off the bag from deep in the hole.Comment

Re: TNK - 2013 REALISM SLIDERS
I was just trying to figure out something we could be doing different. I mean I've actually gone through stretches where I've found myself going man I'm committing nowhere near enough errors.

Re: TNK - 2013 REALISM SLIDERS
I also had the high frequency of errors (thought for a while I chalked it up to I'm using the Braves).
Only problem is it wasn't happening to my ****ty fielders. It was Simmons and Freeman booting all the balls and making bad throws.
Also have had BJ Upton drop 4 fly balls that he camped under in the 1st month lol.
I dropped the fielding/throwing errors by 1 but still get a pretty good bit of errors.
Edit: just went back and checked the numbers. 50 total errors through 31 games. That's about right if you put two of the worst defensive teams up against each other (current highest error per game rate is Nats at .87 errors per game). The highest average errors per game all last year was 0.75 per game. I think a notch or two off the error slider(s) are about right (mostly the fielding errors slider though).
2nd Edit: Also for those who find it hard to throw balls for the sake of throwing balls might I suggest switching to Classic pitching. It really does increase the pitch count without you having to always deliberately pitch out of the strike zone (if you're extremely good at the pitch meter like i am)Last edited by Helios12787; 04-27-2013, 05:07 AM.Comment

Re: TNK - 2013 REALISM SLIDERS
Gonna double post here so this doesn't get lost in the shuffle.
How is everyone else doing in terms of outfield assists. I don't think I've thrown a single player out at 3rd or home so far in my franchise (using the Braves and all the outfielders got above average arms).
It really hit home on me when Joey Votto just scored from first on a line drive that got hammered off the wall (and was less than 2 outs so he wasn't running on contact) that I fielded off the wall within seconds of it hitting the ground. And I wasn't anywhere near throwing him out at the plate lol. He slid into home when the ball was like around the pitcher's mound from the cutoff mans throw.
Using sliders listed in the original post.Comment

Re: TNK - 2013 REALISM SLIDERS
Nailed one at the plate with B.J. On a one hop liner to center that I managed to play fantastic.
And have got 2-3 so far with Heyward, Justin has yet to get anyone but as long as he sticks close to his real life hr pace I'll be happy.
After 9 games real life Upton 6 HRs, mine 5 HRs.

Re: TNK - 2013 REALISM SLIDERS
wish I was having that kinda success throwing ppl out lol. Ur using button throwing correct ? Bout to restart my franchise (as awesome as it was I somehow effed up the sliders somewhere in between the end of the month tigers series and had pitch speed at 10 so I lost like every game but one from the end of april till the 2nd week in may.)
Gonna use the hybrid rosters since I love pitch edits lol. Gonna miss having that franchise file that had all the people on the DL alreadyguess I'll have to do it manually this time
Edit: hey HighCmpPct I saw on the OSFM Hybrid thread u said u used analog hitting. Were you able to find a happy medium for the user hitting sliders using that? I started off the year using analog hitting but no matter how bad i made the sliders for the user hitting I still was putting up absurd stats.Last edited by Helios12787; 04-27-2013, 10:01 PM.Comment

Re: TNK - 2013 REALISM SLIDERS
TNK - BOSTON RED SOX FRANCHISE
Game #18 of the Season – Kansas City Royals @ Boston Red Sox
Pitching Matchup – James Shields vs. Ryan Dempster
The Red Sox and Royals 2nd game of a 3 game series at Fenway Park with Royals ace James Shields taking the mound against Ryan Dempster for Boston. The Red Sox made a roster move before the game as they demoted enigmatic reliever Alfredo Aceves to AAA Pawtucket and recalled Alex Wilson to take his place in the bullpen.
* Ryan Dempster looked sharp early as he set the Royals down in the 1st & 2nd innings allowing just a double to Billy Butler in the top of the 1st inning.
* Mike Napoli singled to begin the bottom of the 2nd inning and then Shields hit Mike Carp on the arm with a fastball to give the Red Sox 2 men on base with nobody out. Carp was forced to leave the game with an injury after being hit and he was replaced by Jonny Gomes. Shields came back to strike out Middlebrooks with a full count to get a big 1st out. Saltalamacchia flew out to deep CF and Napoli advanced to 3rd able to setup runners on the corners with two outs. Shields got Stephen Drew to fly out to LF to work out of trouble and the game would remain scoreless after 2 innings.
* Dustin Pedroia gave the Red Sox a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 3rd when he hit a laser into the monster seats for his 1st HR of the season and we would go to the 4th inning with Boston on top 1-0.
* Mike Napoli crushed a solo HR over the green monster to lead off the bottom of the 4th inning to make it a 2-0 game. Alcides Escobar made a fantastic diving play on a groundball up the middle and fired a rocket across the diamond to rob Gomes of a base hit in the inning and we would go to the 5th inning with Boston up 2-0.
* Ryan Dempster pitched around a 1 out walk to Jeff Francoeur in the top of the 5th and has held the Royals to just 1 hit so far through 5 innings on the mound. Jacoby Ellsbury was stranded at 3rd base in the bottom of the 5th and the game would go to the 6th inning with the Red Sox holding a 2-0 lead.
* Things fell apart for Dempster in the top of the 6th inning. Alex Gordon got the Royals 2nd hit of the game as he singled to lead off the inning and moved into scoring position with nobody out when he stole 2nd base. Dempster lost control of a slider and hit Escobar to give Kansas City two men on with no outs and the heart of the order coming up. Billy Butler flew out to the warning track in RF allowing Gordon to tag up and setup runners at the corners with one out for Mike Moustakas in a key spot. Escobar stole 2nd base on the 9th pitch of the at bat as Moustakas and Dempster battled their way to a full count before Moustakas walked on the 10th pitch of the AB to load the bases with one out. Salvador Perez came up with the big hit as he lined a single down the LF line to score 2 runs and tie the game up at 2-2. Eric Hosmer was up next and he got a slider up in the zone that he drove over the green monster in LF for a 3-run HR to give Kansas City a 5-2 lead and knock Dempster out of the game as Junichi Tazawa came on in relief to get the last two outs of the inning as the Royals now have a 5-2 lead.
* Stephen Drew made it a 5-3 game with 1 out in the bottom of the 7th as he stroked a solo HR into the Red Sox bullpen in RF. Jacoby Ellsbury reached base on an error but was thrown out on a well executed pitch out as he tried to steal 2nd base. Shields got Nava to pop out to end the inning and we would move on to the 8th inning with Kansas City leading 5-3.
* Alex Wilson made his major league debut as took over on the mound for Boston to pitch the top of the 8th. Wilson got the 1st out of the inning before issuing a walk to Perez and giving up a single to Hosmer to give the Royals 2 men on with 1 out. Wilson got out of the jam as he got Jeff Francoeur to hit into a 3-6-1 double play to end the inning and keep the score at 5-3.
* Kelvin Herrera replaced Shields on the mound for the Royals in the bottom of the 8th and pitched a 1-2-3 inning to send the game to the 9th inning
* Wilson pitched a 1-2-3 top of the 9th as he pitched 2 scoreless innings in his big league debut and we would go to the bottom of the 9th with the Red Sox trailing 5-3.
* Kansas City closer Greg Holland came in to pitch the bottom of the 9th looking to record the save as the Royals had themselves a 5-3 lead. Jonny Gomes hit the ball hard towards the gap to lead off the inning but Lorenzo Cain made a running catch for the 1st out. Holland struck out Middlebrooks and the Sox were down to their final out. Jarrod Saltalamacchia grounded out to 1st base to end the game as Holland closes it out and the Royals win 5-3.
The Red Sox lose 5-3 as the Royals snap a 4 game losing streak. The Sox hit 3 HR off of James Shields but they were all solo shots and they just could not string hits together. The Royals used a 5 run 6th inning and a big 3-run HR from Eric Hosmer to pace their offense. The teams will play the 3rd game of this series tomorrow as the Royals will send Jeremy Guthrie to the mound against Felix Doubront for Boston in the rubber match

Re: TNK - 2013 REALISM SLIDERS
You can do either, but there will be some pitches your gonna miss/hit weakly if you don't move it.
