    Franchise Game #23 - Phillies (11-11) vs. Dodgers (13-9)

    PHI: 1 4 1
    LAD: 2 8 0

    Win: C. Perez (2-1)
    Loss: M. Adams (0-1)

    Starting Pitching:

    A. Burnett - 7 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 4 K, 90 Pitches, 65 Strikes, 25 Balls, 60% First Pitch Strikes, 72% Overall Strikes

    Z. Greinke - 8.1 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 11 K, 101 Pitches, 69 Strikes, 32 Balls, 71% First Pitch Strikes, 69% Overall Strikes

    Team Pitching:

    PHI: 6 K, 1 BB, 60% First Pitch Strikes, 69% Overall Strikes
    LAD: 13 K, 1 BB, 70% First Pitch Strikes, 67% Overall Strikes

    Team Batting:

    PHI:
    4 Extra Base Hits
    2B: A. Burnett (1), R. Howard (2), D. Brown (10)
    HR: J. Rollins (2)
    RBI: J. Rollins (8)
    4 Hits/36 At-Bats = .111 BA

    LAD:
    1 Extra Base Hit
    2B: A. Gonzalez (7)
    RBI: A. Gonzalez (15)
    8 Hits/37 At-Bats = .216 BA

    Recap:

Zack Greinke absolutely dominated this game. He was two outs away from a complete-game shutout, and then came Jimmy Rollins. He hit a no-doubter into the left field corner, which tied the game at 1, ruining an absolute gem by Greinke. The score would remain that way until the bottom of the 11th, when Mike Adams would allow a leadoff single to the pinch-hitter, Andre Ethier. Dee Gordon would bunt the runner over, to put Ethier in scoring position. Mattingly would then insert Figgins to pinch run. Carl Crawford, the walk-off hero from last night's game, would line a hard single to left, but hit it a bit too hard as Figgins had to hold at 3rd. Matt Kemp would come up to the plate with runners at the corners, but Adams would get a HUGE strikeout. That would set the stage for Adrian Gonzalez, as he would come up to bat with runners at the corners with two out. After getting ahead with a first pitch cutter, Adams would throw a slider that crossed up Carlos Ruiz....

DODGERS WIN ON A WALK-OFF PASSED BALL!!! THE SECOND WALK-OFF WIN IN AS MANY NIGHTS!!!

I'm more than happy to get out of this series with a split, because my offense was just downright horrible....or the Phillies pitching was that good.

Colorado is coming to town, and the winner of this series will take the division lead!!!

Re: Itbeme23 Sim Sliders - Veteran Hitting/A.S. Classic Pitching & OCD Accurate Strik

Well I want to first point out that I think they whole pitching aspects are on point from total Pitch percentage to First Strike percentage. So for awhile I am just going to post the batting aspects of the game along with any errors and baserunning (slow guys beating out hits to first.)

      Game 15: SEA: 10-4 TEX: 4-11

      SEA: 4 7 1
      TEX: 3 7 2

      WP: F. Hernandez
      LP: Y. Darvish
      SV: F. Rodney

      SEA:
      2B: Cano
      RBI: Cano 3, Zunino

      TEX:
      2B: M. Choice
      3B: Martin
      RBI: Andrus, Martin, Kouzmanoff

A great played game you can tell that both Aces where on the mound this night. Very little extra base hits and I felt pressure every time that I had to come up to hit against Darvish.

      Game 16: SEA: 11-4 TEX: 4-11

      SEA: 7 11 1
      TEX: 3 10 1

      WP: H. Ramirez
      LP: T. Scheppers

      SEA:
      2B: Cano
      3B: Miller, Seager
      HR: Seager
RBI: Miller, Cano 2, Seager 2, Ackley, Buck

      TEX:
      2B: Choo, Wilson
      HR: Andrus
      RBI: Andrus, Fielder, Murphy

The offense was back on track. Seager had a big game for me and is riding a huge hot streak. Choo was pesky all series long and continued through this game. (Secretly hope he bust a knee cap)

      Game 17: SEA 12-4 MIA: 9-7

      SEA: 5 12 1
      MIA: 0 2 0

      WP: C. Young
      LP: N. Eovaldi

      SEA:
      2B: Miller, Cano, Hart
      3B: Almonte
      HR: Hart
      RBI: Miller, Cano, Hart 3

      MIA:
      Nothing.........

Just thrown my first shut out of the year. C. Young was on the hill and he was fantastic. Did allow his first hit until the 6th and allowed another not until the bottom 9. Offense continue to rolls.

Re: Itbeme23 Sim Sliders - Veteran Hitting/A.S. Classic Pitching & OCD Accurate Strik

All right I got 17 game into the books I know its not 30 or more but I wanted to give you a heads up on what I am looking at right now..

        AVG: .298
        HITS: 180 10.5/game
        RUNS: 96 5.6/game
        2B: 40 2.3/game
        3B: 7 .4/game
        HR: 20 1.17/game
        RBI: 93
        SB: 7
        CS: 3
        BB: 28 1.64/game
        K: 79 4.6/game
        E: 10 .58/game

        ERA: 2.70
        H: 130 7.6/game
        R: 46 2.7/game
        ER: 45
        HR: 15 .88/game
        BB: 36 2.1/game
        K: 101 5.9/game

Now in some of the defense of the numbers I went against the Angles (30th in AVG, 28th in ERA), Rangers (26th in AVG, 30th in ERA), Oakland (8th in AVG, 11th in ERA), 3 of my 4 losses came from Oakland, and MIA (29th in AVG, 4th ERA). So I can see why I have been crushing the ball lately and beating up on better teams they just have not gotten hot yet. After game one of the MIA series I am surprised by that, but it is only game one I will see what happens after the series. (The good thing is I don't have Fernandez in this series).

          Franchise Game #24 - Rockies (15-8) vs. Dodgers (14-9)

          COL: 1 7 0
          LAD: 4 10 0

          Win: D. Haren (4-1)
          Loss: J. Nicasio (0-2)

          Starting Pitching:

          J. Nicasio - 5 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 3 K, 85 Pitches, 57 Strikes, 28 Balls, 71% First Pitch Strikes, 67% Overall Strikes

          D. Haren - 9 IP, 7 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 6 K, 91 Pitches, 69 Strikes, 22 Balls, 79% First Pitch Strikes, 76% Overall Strikes

          Team Pitching:

          COL: 4 K, 1 BB, 64% First Pitch Strikes, 70% Overall Strikes
          LAD: 6 K, 0 BB, 79% First Pitch Strikes, 76% Overall Strikes

          Team Batting:

          COL:
          1 Extra Base Hit
          2B: Wilin Rosario (1)
          RBI: C. Gonzalez (17)
          7 Hits/33 At-Bats = .212 BA

          LAD:
          4 Extra Base Hits
          2B: H. Ramirez (6), A. Gonzalez (8), C. Figgins 2 (2)
          RBI: H. Ramirez (12), A. Gonzalez 2 (17), M. Kemp (8)
          10 Hits/31 At-Bats = .323 BA

          Recap:

Dan Haren did in this game what Zack Greinke couldn't do last game....he threw a comple-game gem against the Rockies. After giving up a run in the first inning, Haren would cruise for the rest of the game after the Dodgers gave him back the lead in the bottom half of the first frame. The Dodgers and Rockies are now tied atop the NL West.

          Slider Notes:

My pitching seems to have caught fire ever since the beginning of the Philadelphia series. My team ERA is now at 3.07, which is tops in baseball. However, just the previous week it was at 3.64, which was barely middle of the pack. Like I said, it's something that I will continue to monitor, but these hot/cold streaks are all part of the long baseball season. I'm still very happy with the results that I've been getting.

Well at least one offense was on this night and it was a team that started with an M. This time it was not the Mariners. The Marlins came out and roughed up starter R. Elias for 4 runs in the first 2 innings but then he shut shut them down after that. D. Farquhar have up the last run with a huge blast from G. Stanton (hung a cutter). The only up side for the Mariners tonight was R. Cano getting a Double and HR.

Good clean game, first I had in a while. Zero errors on both sides. I put baserunner speed to 4 and Arm Strength at 5. (Autobase run) and I am seeing alot tighter game on the base paths for Me. So I don't know if these will work with the Assist Running that you use. But I recommend that if you are an Auto guy like me to use the 4 Baserunner Speed and 5 Arm Strength. Only if Itbeme concurs on with me. As far as the rest of the sliders looking at my AVG through the 17 game and the MLB Avg on where they are at right now. DUDE!!!!! They are on par. I would not change anything.

Well, this was a fun one. Another Pitcher goes down so I call up B. Maurer to pitch and it looked good for me in the top of the first with a 2 run shot from C. Hart to start the top of the inning, but the Marlins come back with a 2-run Home Run of their own. They where able to get another one in the bottom of the 2nd and Maurer is shaky on the mound. I even go out there and tell him to pitch better. Don't ask how, it's a really complicated algorithm that I just can't go into now. Anyway, He settles down to pitch scoreless 3rd and 4th innings. Top of 5, the Mariners where able to roar back and knock out Slowly with 3 runs. Maurer decided we were pulling away to much so he gave the Marlins 1 run. That was enough for me. Added an insurance run in the 8th. Then it got exciting in the bottom of the 9th. Rodney comes in to get the save and thought..."hhhhmmm this game is not close enough I am going to hang a change up to REED JOHNSON!!!!." Reed "Freaking" Johnson take me deep to bring it to one run. Finally Rodney decided to pitch and close the door. If I didn't have to travel to Houston for the next series I would have all the pitchers throwing extra time. Once again a complex Algorithm, can't go into this time also.

GAME 1: was great King Flex took a no-no into the 7th and that is where M. Dominguez ended his no hit bid and shut out in one swing of the bat. Well played game.

Game 2: The Powerhouse Astro's...that's right the Astro's they ended up beating me again. I come home to Safeco and can't get a win or the offense going. It looks like I am finally cooling down. After this game the Astro's have pulled into a tie (with me) for first in the ALW. This is going to be a fun season if this trend holds.

                        C. Young got the start for the M's and he was masterful allowing the only run against the Astros but got pulled due to being tired...Well he struck out 7 and walked 0. The M's offense continue to struggle, they didn't get a get a hit until the 5th (A double by Hart, but got greedy and was thrown out at Third). They where finally able to break through in the 6 with a lead off Triple by M. Zunino (Fowler dove for it and missed the ball...HAHAHA take that Dexter) RBI Single by Miller and Cano took a 3-0 fastball over the fence for a Home Run and that was all she wrote.

Hey man I'm loving the sliders. Just wondering if you could possibly offer a little insight as to pitching. I can't seem to hit a spot that I aim for if my life depends on it. I have a pretty good idea of how to pitch, but continuously get lit up. Help!

Thoughts on if I move Human contact & power to 4?

Any changes to be made to the sliders?

Hey, man. Thanks for giving the sliders a shot. Classic Pitching is my favorite part of the game. If you're going for stats based on each players ratings in the game, then it's the only way to go. As far as pitching strategy, your results are greatly going to depend on team/pitching staff that you use. If you're staff is full of scrubs, more than likely you shouldn't be looking to be leading the Majors in ERA. However, if you have a staff like, say the Dodgers (at least on paper) or Giants, then you should expect to be close to the leaders in ERA.

Execution with Classic Pitching is different with everybody, IMO. I have Pitcher Control and Consistency set pretty low to provide the best challenge possible, while still achieving sim stats. Because Control and Consistency are on the low side, you cannot throw every pitch with max effort to try and blow guys away. You have to build up your pitcher's confidence (blue bar under pitch types) throughout the game, then you can start maxing out your effort to get guys to swing and miss. At least that's my approach to Classic Pitching, and so far, I'm pleased with my results. I would suggest using minimum effort (maybe a tap, or a little bit more than a tap) on pitches early in the game. Once you rack up a few outs, or retire several guys in a row, then you will see your pitcher's confidence start to rise. The fastest way to do this is by striking guys out. It's not all about trying to overpower hitters. It's about PITCHING. Setting guys up by using different pitches, changing speeds, changing eye levels, etc.

                              Hope that helps you out!!!

Any slider set is to be used as a base, dude. Personally, I don't plan on changing any of the sliders. Although my offense isn't performing EXACTLY the way I want them to (statistically speaking), I feel that if I get a few of my guys on hot streaks, then my offense will start to turn around. I'm currently middle of the pack in most offensive categories, although I'm afraid to check what my batting average is with RISP.

If you're looking for more hits and HRs, then yes, raising Contact and Power will help. Personally, I'm getting around 9 hits/game in my franchise, which is in the top 10 in the Majors. There was a time when I was in the top ten in homeruns as well, but I've gone through a dry spell lately.

Again, to each his own. If you want to raise the sliders, feel free to do so. Monitor the stats for about ten games, and check if they're where you want them to be at. If they are, you're golden!!!

I'll leave the sliders as is for now... If I need an upgrade or something I make the change.
