Re: Itbeme23 Sim Sliders - Veteran Hitting/A.S. Classic Pitching & OCD Accurate Strik
I've told you guys about the peaks and valleys of an MLB season....
I just flipped the calendar over to May in my franchise. As I had mentioned last week, my pitching seemed to have caught fire, as I was leading the league in ERA, but my offense was struggling. I went into a three-game set against the Twins, and won a close 4-3 contest in the first game of the series. After that, my bats went silent for the rest of the series, and I ended up dropping the final two games, 4-3 & 3-1, respectively. After losing the final game of the Twins series, the Dodgers headed down to Miami for a three-game set. Even though my offense has been struggling as of late, I was surprised to see that almost EVERYBODY in my lineup had a 'cold' symbol next to their names: Puig, Hanley, A-Gon, Uribe, Gordon. The only players that didn't were Carl Crawford (who's hot right now), Andre Ethier (who's barely hitting over .200), and Drew Butera (who's hitting .225). Needless to say, my offense is pretty much non-existent right now. I was definitely going to have to rely on the strength of my pitching if I was going win the series in Miami. After jumping on Kevin Slowey with runs in the 1st and 2nd innings, the Dodgers would take a 2-0 lead heading into the 4th inning. Josh Beckett had cruised through the first 3 innings with ease, but ran into trouble in the 4th, as the Dodgers ugly defense would come back to bite them again. After retiring the first batter, Beckett would issue a walk. He then promptly gave up a LUCKY opposite field double, which would score the runner from 1st. Dodgers lead 2-1. Hanley would botch an easy grounder to put men on 1st and 2nd, with Giancarlo Stanton coming up to bat. Stanton would send an inside fastball deep into left field, which would put the Marlins up 4-2. The Dodgers would scrape across one more run in the 6th to bring the score to 4-3, but the wheels fell off in the 7th inning as Brandon League would come in to give up 3 runs. The Marlins would take a 7-3 lead into the top of the 9th, with Dan Jennings pitching. Jennings would get Andre Ethier to ground out for the first out. He would then plunk Juan Uribe, and give up a sharp single to Drew Butera to put men on 1st and 2nd with only one out. The Marlins would then bring in their closer, Steve Cishek. Chasing 4 runs, the Dodgers let Dee Gordon swing, rather than bunting the men over, and he'd hit a double play ball up the middle, but the Marlins were unable to turn it because of Gordon's speed. That would put men on 1st and 3rd, with two out, with Matt Kemp coming up to pinch-hit. Kemp would hit a NO-DOUBTER deep into the left field corner to keep the Dodgers alive, 7-6. However, Cishek would retire Carl Crawford on a ground ball to first base to seal the victory.
The Dodgers have now lost three straight, and drop to 2nd place in the NL West.Comment

How many home runs per game do you hit/give? I used your sliders for more than 10 games and it seems that I can only score runs by hitting homeruns. Same thing when I'm pitchingComment

Well I was able to get some runs this game and keep the Rangers off balance, but King Felx was not himself today. He only last 5 innings then had to turn to the bullpen and once again they let me down. I gave up 4 runs in the 8th to lose again. I have loss 5 of the last 7. I am not doing to hot at the end of the Month. Hopeing to get out of the month quickly and Turn around the losing ways. It's all about the man Hammer'n Hank...Comment

Re: Itbeme23 Sim Sliders - Veteran Hitting/A.S. Classic Pitching & OCD Accurate Strik
I been over looking your thread here for a few weeks. Was really skeptical at first. But yesterday I pligged in the various values for your sliders... I started my franchise (minors rosters included of course) an it has been a great experience through ten games. I have seen things happen just like in the real major league experience. No more super man outfielders getting to balls in the gap before they drop. No more catching every ball that is about to hot the wall. Everytime I make contact im prepared for the unexpected. Which is what you want from your sim experience. So with that being said I would like to thank you. You have made mlb the show 14 the greatest... tip my cap.. great job....Comment

First Game:
TOR 4-11-0
TB 5-9-3
WP: D. Price
LP: R.A. Dickey
The Rays hit 4 HR's total which killed us, I dont know why I cant pitch with Dickey lol it was a fun close game, I worked Price pretty early, the main thing Im gonna be looking for I can only see maybe being a thing for PS4 Version is the CPU maybe having too much pop in their bats. I'll keep posting and you can help me out Itbeme23... I didnt play the PS3 Version, but so far to me it only seems maybe CPU batting might be to OP'd or something.Comment

Re: Itbeme23 Sim Sliders - Veteran Hitting/A.S. Classic Pitching & OCD Accurate Strik
After dropping the first game of the Marlins series, I had Zach Lee on the mound for Game 2. He pitched a great 6 innings, and the Dodgers went into the 7th leading 2-1....and then came in Brandon League. He promptly loaded the bases with nobody out. Leauge would induce a ground ball to start the the 1-2-3 double play, but Miguel Olivo would drop the throw at home plate, and the game would be tied at 2. The Dodgers would bring in Brian Wilson to try to work out of the jam. A failed suicide squeeze led to the first out, but men on 2nd and 3rd. Wilson would then get a comebacker back to the mound, but he would mishandle the ball, and because the man on third was running on contact, the Marlins would take a 3-2 lead. Wilson would go on to get out of the inning without any further damage. Matt Kemp would lead off the 8th with a double, and he would be singled by Andre Ethier to tie the score at 3. The score would remain that way until the top of the 10th, when the Dodgers would push across the tie-breaking run to bring the score to 4-3. The Dodgers would bring in Jansen for the save, and after recording the first out, Jansen would give up a single, walk, and the game-winning home run to Rob Brantley. Marlins win 6-4 in walk-off fashion, with the Dodgers losing streak now standing at 4 games.
Kenley Jansen had been pretty much lights out the entire season, converting 13 of 14 save opportunities, with an ERA under one. After this blown save, his ERA ballooned to 3.09, and he's tagged with the loss.
I've definitely hit a rough patch in my franchise....Comment

Re: Itbeme23 Sim Sliders - Veteran Hitting/A.S. Classic Pitching & OCD Accurate Strik
Tony,
I thought it would be a fun little exercise to see how your stats compare to the real-life Mariners. Granted, the real-life Mariners have about double your sample size, but it's still pretty cool. Real-life Mariners are in parentheses. I'm so beyond happy with the stats, it's not even funny.
This is based on a 56-game sample size.
AVG: .267 (.234)
HITS: 248 9.2/game (437 = 7.8 per game)
RUNS: 121 4.5/game (228 = 4.1 per game)
2B: 57 2.1/game (87 = 1.6 per game)
3B: 8 .3/game (13 = 0.23 per game)
HR: 29 1.07/game (44 = 0.8 per game)
RBI: 116 (213)
SB: 7 (29)
CS: 4 (16)
BB: 37 1.4/game (145 = 2.6 per game)
K: 127 4.7/game (450 = 8.03 per game)
E: 12 .44/game (33 = 0.59 per game)
ERA: 3.68 (3.54)
H: 227 8.4/game (441 = 7.9 per game)
R: 99 3.7/game (215 = 3.8 per game)
ER: 97 (196)
HR: 35 1.3/game (54 = 0.96 per game)
BB: 56 2.1/game (170 = 3.04 per game)
K: 182 6.7/game (416 = 7.4 per game)

Re: Itbeme23 Sim Sliders - Veteran Hitting/A.S. Classic Pitching & OCD Accurate Strik
Itbeme,
Those look down right scary right now. The only big difference are the batting average, stole bases. As for batting average in real life I'm only 19 points above mlb average, but I'm at least 30 games from real life. As for stolen bases that is all me I'm not an aggressive base steal unlike the actual M's who love to run.
I don't know about you but I'm set for sliders and anyone the complains about anything just show them the stats. I'll keep posting to make sure you get your sample sizes but I thing you are set my man. It's all about the man Hammer'n Hank...Comment
