Recap:
This was a back and forth game. The M's jumped all over Dan Haren in the 1st inning with three early runs. The Dodgers would come back with a run on a no-doubt HR by Matt Kemp. Elias would cruise his way into the 6th inning without allowing another hit, with the score still 3-1. However, Dee Gordon would lead off the top of the 6th with a bunt single. Elias would hang a 2-1 changeup over the plate, and Yasiel Puig would make him pay by taking him deep to right for the game-tying 2-run HR. The score remained deadlocked until the bottom of the 7th inning, when Dustin Ackley would break the tie with a solo homer off of Dan Haren. The M's would bring in Charlie Farbush to set up the save for Fernando Rodney in the 8th inning. He would give up a leadoff double to Dee Gordon. With the infield in, Hanley Ramirez would shoot a single up the middle to score Gordon, and the score is tied at 4. Adrian Gonzalez would send a long fly ball to left-center that would hop over the wall for a ground rule double, putting men on 2nd and 3rd with only one out. The M's would intentionally walk Matt Kemp, to face the lefty, Andre Ethier, but he would come through with a sacrifice fly to score the go-ahead run. The Dodgers would take a 5-4 lead going into the 9th inning, despite Dee Gordon committing his SECOND error of the game. Kenley Jansen comes in for the save, and gives up a game-tying HR to Logan Morrison. The game would go into extras with both teams having scoring opportunities in the 10th and the 11th innings. The Dodgers would finally come through with a run in the top of the 12th, with a run-scoring single by Carl Crawford. Paco Rodriguez and Brandon League would come in to shut the door in the bottom of the 12th.
Another really exciting, nail-biting game. LOVING THE VARIETY!!!
