Re: Itbeme23 Sim Sliders - Veteran Hitting/A.S. Classic Pitching & OCD Accurate Strik

Test Series - Dodgers vs. Mariners

    Game 3

    LAD: 6 12 2
    SEA: 5 14 1
    Final: 12

    Win: C. Withrow
    Loss: T. Wilhelmsen
    Save: B. League

    Starting Pitching:

    D. Haren - 7 IP, 9 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 0 BB, 6 K, 94 Pitches, 68 Strikes, 26 Balls, 53% First Pitch Strikes, 72% Overall Strikes

    R. Elias - 5.2 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 3 ER 1 BB, 5 K, 85 Pitches, 51 Strikes, 34 Balls, 43% First Pitch Strikes, 60% Overall Strikes

    Team Pitching:

    LAD: 12 K, 1 BB, 58% First Pitch Strikes, 70% Overall Strikes
    SEA: 13 K, 4 BB, 52% First Pitch Strikes, 63% Overall Strikes

    Team Batting:

    LAD:
    6 Extra Base Hits
    2B: A. Gonzalez (2), M. Kemp, D. Gordon
    HR: Y. Puig, M. Kemp
    12 Hits/46 At-Bats = .261 BA

    SEA:
    5 Extra Base Hits
    2B: B. Miller, K. Seager, J. Smoak
    HR: L. Morrison, D. Ackley
    14 Hits/48 At-Bats = .292 BA

    Recap:

This was a back and forth game. The M's jumped all over Dan Haren in the 1st inning with three early runs. The Dodgers would come back with a run on a no-doubt HR by Matt Kemp. Elias would cruise his way into the 6th inning without allowing another hit, with the score still 3-1. However, Dee Gordon would lead off the top of the 6th with a bunt single. Elias would hang a 2-1 changeup over the plate, and Yasiel Puig would make him pay by taking him deep to right for the game-tying 2-run HR. The score remained deadlocked until the bottom of the 7th inning, when Dustin Ackley would break the tie with a solo homer off of Dan Haren. The M's would bring in Charlie Farbush to set up the save for Fernando Rodney in the 8th inning. He would give up a leadoff double to Dee Gordon. With the infield in, Hanley Ramirez would shoot a single up the middle to score Gordon, and the score is tied at 4. Adrian Gonzalez would send a long fly ball to left-center that would hop over the wall for a ground rule double, putting men on 2nd and 3rd with only one out. The M's would intentionally walk Matt Kemp, to face the lefty, Andre Ethier, but he would come through with a sacrifice fly to score the go-ahead run. The Dodgers would take a 5-4 lead going into the 9th inning, despite Dee Gordon committing his SECOND error of the game. Kenley Jansen comes in for the save, and gives up a game-tying HR to Logan Morrison. The game would go into extras with both teams having scoring opportunities in the 10th and the 11th innings. The Dodgers would finally come through with a run in the top of the 12th, with a run-scoring single by Carl Crawford. Paco Rodriguez and Brandon League would come in to shut the door in the bottom of the 12th.

Another really exciting, nail-biting game. LOVING THE VARIETY!!!

      Recap:

Another blown save by Kenley Jansen. Dodgers had a 2-1 lead going into the bottom of the 9th. Following a ground out to begin the inning, Jansen hits two batters, and gives up the game-winning 3-run walk-off HR to Yan Gomes. This one pissed me off.....

I like this new QC feature. I'm going to play some games with my padres with QC on and your sliders and post my box scores as I play. Thank you for sharing these sliders.

Yeah, man! The test games have been going well. I've taken a break for the last week or so. I played over 40 games since I got the game, and I just got burned out a bit. I plan on hitting it again this week though. I'm really digging the way they're playing out, so I don't plan on changing the sliders right now. I'd still like to get another 15 games of testing though. Just another couple weeks until you can join me for testing! The countdown begins!

Hey, man! Thanks for trying out the sliders. From what I've read, QC usually requires a completely different slider set, but if you're getting the results you like, by all means, continue using the sliders. Looking forward to seeing your results!

You'll probably have the sliders set by the time I get my hands on the game lol!
I think this year Im gonna do it different, plug in the sliders and then do RTTS. Use it as practice at the plate, plus I havent really done it before so should be fun. And whatever team I get drafted by I think Ill use in my Franchise as well.

Gotta say these are the most realistic sliders I have had so far, and I think finally this is what I am keeping and not changing anything I was a bit scared at first at seeing pitcher Con and control so low and power and contact so low I didn't think it could even out but now I am seeing the right amount of strikeouts that should be happening.

I wish there was a slider for confidence, the CPU gets to hook happy if that is at halfway

I've continued to follow this thread with considerable interest...

Really enjoying the strike percentage stats in the box scores, etc...

Found this link today, and although it's a few years old, my guess is that the "basics" of strike percentage are still consistent with current day, etc:

                              So:

I'm seeing that both first pitch strikes should fall in the 60 range (from the link in my earlier post) and overalls should be in the 60 range (or thereabouts) as well...

Where do YOU guys feel they should fall?

What percentages are you shooting for itbeme23?

EDIT: found it in the first post, my bad! 58 / 60-65, correct?

                              Thanks!

My main goal is getting first pitch strike percentages in the 58-60% range. I know that you've provided detailed information on strike percentages, and I've been trying to keep that "60% First Strike" in my head. I'd venture to say that once I do a stat check at the 50 game mark, the first strike percentage is going to be hovering right around there, which is a good thing.

Overall strike percentage is very different, because everybody has a different approach at the plate. I consistently have CPU pitchers at aroung 64-67% overall strikes. Again, I may have a very different plan of attack at the plate than others, so I think that overall strike percentage is going to vary from player to player. As long as I don't see overall strike percentages CONSISTENTLY over 70% (this will happen from time to time), then I'm happy with the current results that I'm getting. I'm still about 10 games from the 50 game mark, so I'll have a very detailed stat update hopefully in the next week or so.

I played a game last night for the first time in over a week, just to see if the patch had an affect on gameplay. While I did make a couple of observations, I'm going to need to play more games before I can really say if any sliders should be changed.

                                Stay tuned...
