Did you boil your disc to stop the game from freezing? I tried this solution and it did not work for me. I took the game back and got a new one, no freezes so far. Knock on wood!

No... I just set presentations to Normal... freeze free ever since!

Here ya go boys, updated after lots of testing! Things are looking GREAT!

Difficulty: All-Star (*Important!*)
Strike Zone: off
Hot Zones: off
Catch Region: on
Catch Position: off
Tag up marker: on

SLIDERS (Same for CPU and Human)

Batter contact: 5
Batter power: 13
Arm strength: 5
Arm accuracy: 6
Errors: 12
CPU Running aggression: 20

All sliders are from the bar at 0.

Things have really changed here... you will see a larger variety of hits, and homeruns will NOT be affected...

Players don't have superarms as much as they did, although they can still throw a bit too strong... but the arm strength slider can't be any lower, as drag bunts will be TOO effective with fast runners and infielders won't have the ability to dive, get up, and barely get the runner at first out....

The only really disappointing thing about the sliders is you can't save them!

Anyway, makes the game even better! Try them out, and feedback is always appreciated.

The sliders automatically save themselves after you adjust them in the game, at least in season mode I can confirm this.

Thanks Pared, I have been using sliders very similiar to this. One question, how many homeruns and hits are you seeing per game for 1P and CPU?

I'm still struggling to hit on Veteran.

Any tips for a MLB series newbie on hitting? I've got the pitch speed at 0 and still can barely make out balls and strikes. My timing might come along, but judging balls and strikes is a nightmare. I wish the pitches were just a tad more exaggerated like in High Heat.

Also, do you swing based on where the pitch is going or anticipate location and adjust as the pitch comes in? When I do the former I can't seem to stay patient at all.

On the pitching side, it seems like my starters are significantly gassed by the 70-75 pitch mark. A pitcher fatigue slider would seem easy to implement. I wonder why they don't have one?

Yeah they don't save in Exhibition though, and when I do a test there, it's annoying that I have to put them in manually all the time. I practically have them memorized!

HR's are VERY varied... that's what's great with the game system itself. At 13, you can have multiple HR games (team, of course) or a game with none. The lower contact with increased power balances out so well that you will see bloopers, hits down the line, gappers, and even the long ball, but never to the point of overkill. Plus, the CPU is actually worth fearing, as they will take a pitch over the wall when you least expect it. Once contact was lower, the CPU wasn't hitting anything hard until I started testing the power.

All Star is important b/c once you get hitting down, on Vet these sliders make the game WAY too easy.

Try a different batting view to see if your hitting improves. I know my hitting fluctuates based on the camera view. It could be the placebo effects, but whatever works.

Also, don't feel bad that hitting is a bit tough... Pitchers seem to be able to pinpoint the corners so well, it's hard to judge what's a ball and a strike more often than not.

Well, I pulled out MLB again and am having a great time playing it again. Anyhow, on topic, Pared, just had a great game going on with your sliders, Yanks 5(me) and Orioles 5, but then it froze So noe I have to go back a game and play the Red Sox, so I'll post the results!
