    Re: SBFM(OS) roster discussion

Things are shaping up nicely. I purchased baseball Americas top 10 from each minor league team.. It also gives a top 100 mid season in the magazine.. Very good stuff.. About to knock out the rest of the minors. There is a lot of detail that goes into the positional players so it takes a while as I have to calculate a lot of manual things. But it's gonna be worth it in the end.

Im definitely anxious to finish this thing. And get some games going.

However I'm picky as hell and want to make sure it's as good as I can possibly get it before release.. I'm kinda thinking we might just make it by the trade deadline or a day or two after it. Which is great so no transactions/trades will be missed.

i respect and commend you for all your diligence and attention to detail with these rosters, but is it really worth holding up the release for another week just because some catchers have the wrong color shinguards? why not release multiple versions so we can get things rolling out, kind of like the OSFM guys do? I know a lot of people would be happy to do equipment and motions edits for their own teams, while you can spend that extra week wrapping things up. i know i quit my last franchise mode when I saw this was at 82% and that was three weeks ago, and somehow it's still only listed at 88%...

If we're actually close, then that's great. But every few days seeing a post that says "we're close!" with a following sentence essentially saying the ETA is being pushed back a week, I don't see how we're really getting that much closer.

None of that is to say I'm not grateful or I'll stop waiting or anything. I respect immensely that these are supposed to be the most realistic rosters ever, but I don't see why this has to wait until after the trade deadline. there are almost always just as many roster moves throughout August as there are in the last week of July, so it's not like there's that much extra benefit of waiting until after the trade deadline.

I'm thankful for everyone who has put all their effort into these rosters, but there has to be a way to get these out sooner.

Cool down there tiger, last time I checked this is their roster that they are making, they will release it whenever they want to. If they want the Mariners backup AA catcher to have properly colored shin guards, then he will have properly colored shin guards. Its his roster, let him do it how he wants.

okay, that's fine. then enough with the false hope that things are closer to being done than they actually are. the completion percentage thing has been a joke for a while, and it's just frustrating to constantly be seeing posts saying "great news! we're close! only another two weeks!" after seeing signs of it being close to release. If they're going to take all the time in the world, that's fine. then don't send out false hope that things are closer to the end than they are.

It also doesn't change the fact that releasing these rosters after July 31 won't save any realism due to all the moves that will be made. Come August 10, even the July 31 rosters will be out-of-date. that's all, "tiger".

                  SBFM(OS) roster discussion

28 teams of positional minor leagues left..

Ranking the farm systems based off minor league ball.

Using the top 50 updated prospects from baseball America as well as a top 10 by team from baseball America..

                  Touching some faces up.

And SCOTT is working on equip edits while I am at work.

So yeah we are getting closer.. Sorry I don't have a full team of people like oSFM.. Please do remember that 90 percent of everything in this roster has been done by me.. Thankfully scott has helped me out.. And a few other guys have done a few things such as game for helping me with my formulas. And authentic for checking the roster over and looking over batting stances and pitch motions which I'm not sure we will get them all in.. But I will continue to do my best to make sure I can get it in since now I'm being harassed to release this thing.. Guess I got a deadline to meet.. On my free labor.. Smfh

I'm doing the best I can to finish this.. Working on it literally from te time I wake up staying up late sleeping 4-5 hours and repeating the process... So I apologize that I am doing this for free and u have to wait..

                    Re: SBFM(OS) roster discussion

This is just the nature of roster-making. Good work takes time. There's no need to get upset over it. Anyone who's worth their salt at making rosters will ALWAYS come in late because there is always that one last thing to take care of, lol. Anyone who's made rosters will tell you about this fact.

It's for the best and as to the idea about releasing versions....well, versions only come out when there are MAJOR adjustments. Ain't nobody got time to figure out whether to use v1.15 or v1.17 vs v2.134 lol. This isn't software updates. As is, people have a hard enough time figuring out what the differences are when there are just 2 OSFMs, a pitch edit, and a Hybrid. Can you imagine with 10-15 versions, how bad that would get?

All that said, I empathize with you bro. We are in the same boat with the next Hybrid release and we are probably going to release at about the same time as this set comes out coincidentally. I want to start my chise up too. Everyone else does, too. Just look at it this way, you have to wait now, but then it looks like you'll have two really detailed roster sets to pick from. It will feel like Christmas.

The value of a really meticulously-made roster is really high, actually higher than ever, because of the year-to-year saves we have now. This roster could possibly be in use for 3-5 years down the road. Everyone should keep that in mind and be patient.

We all know that it's a massive project that goes far beyond the scope of Steve Baron's shin guard, or lack thereof. Warehouse's hyperbolism and your semantics aside, this went from...

...to early August (and who knows how many more "we're getting close, just a few more days, weeks, months"), with a lot of push-backs in between. With that said, I don't understand how you can be upset with people frustrated with the lack of progress on this. A lot of people, myself included, have put off franchises and rtts for just a few more days, ad nauseum. If I knew in June that this roster wasn't going to be out on July 26th, I would've started back then with what was available at the time. At this point, I'm fully invested in your project, and I'm not the only one.

The amount of work you put into this doesn't exempt you from taking crap for stringing along a bunch of nerds like the prom queen.

Well I apologize.. I had no idea how much I really had got myself into.. U do realize I have edited thousands of faces.. Added in free agents international market on the request of u guys wanting them.. I have went thru every single player so far besides the 28 teams of minors positional players speeds calculated them out.. Have to manually look up from about 4 different sites of info to calculate one minor league player.. Not to mention I have to also be weary of their eta and make sure they aren't arriving to quickly to the pros. I've based every minor league guys ratings on performance not on a scale of good great bad etc.. I've based their speeds of actual speed ratings.. Looking up splits, risp information not all of this stuff is easy as pie.. I can't just click one time and have the whole rating format for some things that goes into this roster.. Sorry.. I will try to move faster..

Unfortunately, Mizzou, you are put in a no win situation as a roster-maker. People start feeling entitled to your free labor without having to help at all simply because they've been tracking this thread. People will be mad if you provide an ETA and push it back (which we are seeing). But, then again, not as mad as if you didn't give an ETA in the first place. And the rock meets the hard place.

I can speak from first hand knowledge that this has been delayed out of Mizzou24's, and everyone that has assisted him in some way, desire to make the best roster possible, one that will make you feel like your playing with the actual players from how well they hit against left handers to, yes, the notorious shin guard. There has never been any intention on Mizzou24s part to string anyone along. His heart's sole desire is to give everyone what additions they've asked for and to be as realistic as possible in rating the attributes of over 2,700 players. Very few people would attempt this and even fewer would finish. So let's encourage Mizzou24 and what help he has to drive on to completion and that we appreciate the sacrifices that have been made to work on this massive project.
