Baumy you should do a 2000's roster after this.
    NBA-Brooklyn Nets

    NFL-New York Giants

    MLB-New York Yankees

    ....long live the Attitude Era!!!

I don't know about that amigo.

After this set I am pretty much all rostered out for the year, but maybe someday.

Also, just finishing up some things with the Blue Jays, making them the first AL team done for 98.

Really, really good set of players they had that year.

Long haired Roger Clemens FTW boys!

That's cool man, keep up the good work. 98 was my favorite season ever.

Before I dive into this set, I figure I better let everyone know that this will likely be the last set I do (or at least for a while) regarding MLB rosters.

I apologize to those who are awaiting the 1995 season, since I stated earlier I would do it. Between time constraints and the repetitive, burned out feeling I am starting to feel, it would be difficult to try and tough out another set.

However, I know there are a lot of us really looking forward to this particular season, and it is my goal to make sure this set delivers.

Here are some highlights from 1998 that you can expect to see represented in this set:

          * The McGwire/Sosa Home Run chase

          * The Arizona Diamondbacks and Tampa Bay Devil Rays were introduced to the league

          * Young flamethrowers Kerry Wood and John Rocker are welcomed to Chicago and Atlanta

          * Young stars are first introduced in this set ranging from Pittsburgh's Aramis Ramirez, LAD's Adrian Beltre, St. Louis' Placido Polanco, Cincy's Aaron Boone, Florida's Derek Lee, Minnesota's David Ortiz, Oakland's Miguel Tejada, Cleveland's Richie Sexson, CWS's Magglio Ordonez, Milwaukee's Geoff Jenkins, Boston's Jason Varitek, LAA's Troy Glaus, LAA's Jarrod Washburn, SFG's Russ Ortiz, Arizona's Travis Lee, Florida's Mike Redmond, Cincy's Sean Casey, Atlanta's Kerry Ligtenberg, Tampa's Rolando Arrojo, Tampa's Randy Winn, Seattle's Raul Ibanez, Oakland's Ben Grieve, and many more.

          * Recognizable second year players like Bobby Abreu, Todd Helton, etc... all are now starting.

          * As always, players equipment, appearance, and ratings will be adjusted to reflect their performance.

As for a status update, I have 7 teams in the NL done so far, and I will post a list of them later and update it from time to time.

Looking forward to finishing this set and then sharing it!
Yes at last 1998 Sophmore year of HS when Mc Guire broke the record I was a young 16 and 1998 was sports nirvana !

I have good news for you then. I finished the NL tonight, a day earlier than I thought. I am shooting for one team a day, maybe two on the weekend in the home stretch here. It's a reasonable goal, but again it's all prone to schedule change.

Also, another little note that I figured I'd add if you care about the little things is that I played a quick game of 1996 before writing this, and I noticed how things like back in 1996 a lot of guys had semi-flat hats and only a few had a curve to them. Then slowly in 1997 and then a lot in 1998, almost everyone started to bend them.

Sounds petty, but I remember right around 1996 or so when a lot of guys started bending their caps, like it was the in thing. It's cool to me how progressing in these sets reminds me that.

(Just like when Griffey would take batting practice with his hat backwards. Who didn't do that in little league practice from then on?)
Will you be doing 1981 season ? I would love to see 1981? Johnd8401

Dude, thought of you the other night (no homo) when I used the Yankees.

They're filthy. I mean filthy. One of the best teams ever, possibly. 114-48 doesn't just happen with luck, rght?

I don't think anyone on that team, especially the starters are less than "good" at the plate. Everyone in the starting lineup had at least 10 HR's or more and at least 50 RBI's. They also stole bases like it was going out of style.

The pitching is superior as well.

I used Orlando Hernandez and his sweet delivery against the A's.

I think I stopped in about the 6th, but the score was 6-1 Yanks.

Hernandez had great control and the offense just found way after to way to get on base.

If you have ever trusted me on anything before, trust me when I say you're going to love this team.

I saw 41 games live that year and it was some of if not the best baseball i have ever experienced in my life. I await these rosters on a daily basis and can not thank you enough for the time and work put in

Having played a bunch of your rosters I am sure these will be great. Still play Beds' 1998 roster for '12 on occasion.

No problem. It feels good to help give people their historic fix and bring back memories.

Using the current rosters are great, and still fun, but there's something about using the guys we grew up watching that makes it special to me.

Thanks. I can assure you that these are receiving the same attention, if not more than the other sets.

Couple things I should throw in here.

I unfortunately won't be able to hit rosters tonight, but I really, really want to finish these by weeks end or the weekend for sure. I'm ready to be done and just enjoy what I've worked on.

That being said, I don't think I ever mentioned the uniforms on here.

I did design teams around the appropriate uniform sets from each specific year. That's why in 1996 and 97 Cleveland and other teams had colored shoes. It won't matter for some teams, but for the Rangers and some other teams, make sure you use the appropriate throwbacks that are in the game.

If you want to get technical, check out what teams wore when. (For example, and don't quote me on this, I think Seattle wore those sick Teals in 1996, and maybe 1997, but then I believe they went with the darker blues in 1998. Regardless, I only use certain combos for certain years. Like the black alt's for Baltimore I think only caught on in 98.)

Doing this makes some of the years feel more specific and authentic if that's something you care about. If not, don't let me tell you how to roll

Also, in 1996 the Angels wore their current home/road sets. But in 1997 and 1998 they wore those nice throwbacks they have in the game now for anyone wondering how to "properly" use them.

And I believe in 1998 the Rangers wore their red throwback hats, white pants, and their blue jerseys.

Like I said, it's worth checking out the combos and when they came into play or were used.

But yeah, I love this set.

Forgive me for my lack of humility here, but this set is so sick.

Not because I made it or anything, but just that entire 1998 season unfolding on a game this great is so sick.

Can't wait for you guys to have it and have your own experiences with it.

Will I be able to use this roster for MLB 15? Not really sure how this will work. I know the roster will be on my hard drive but it is currently sitting within MLB 14. How is this going to work?
