Hey all, the long wait is over! Our team is proud to announce the release of the 2018 OSFM Hybrid Roster! First off, please take time to show some love to the members of our team for their contributions in this enormous project:

These guys were a tremendous help and my, oh my, that calc is something special (TheGame8544/pasten29).


So, here's the deal with Version 1:
-Entire rerate of every organization, from top to bottom
-Pitch edits and hitting tendencies
-Full 40 man rosters (***60 day DL guys are on...more on this below***)
-All injured players are in A ball
-Default contract values with correct years
-MLB jersey #'s updated via mlbnumbersig as they update

-Transactions are current as of 5/25/18 at noon (includes Hanley DFA)
-MLB 25 man roster is current as of 5/25/18



Some miscellaneous notes:
-Free agents were not touched (with the exception of Zych, Rosenthal, Hanley, Ichiro). Reason being, the CPU never signs these guys and they fade away into retirement in franchise mode. However, I wanted to edit these handful of guys because most users will probably sign these guys.
-Since this roster is 40 man, lineups/rotations are not true to life. They will be jumbled up upon starting franchise.
-We decided to spend our time elsewhere and not waste resources going through FA's and lineups that really have minimal impact on most franchises.



***As I stated above, all 60 day DL guys are on the 40 man roster in this file. I have attached a file for all you franchise guys who want to manually DL these guys. I have noted players who need added to the 40 man roster upon manually DL'ing these players.***


Future versions will be more transaction oriented, with some equipment edits/faces/quality control/ratings updates as we see fit. Not much will change otherwise. I, for one, don't want to be restarting my franchise with each new update. It'll probably be some time before we release a version 2, most likely after the trade deadline, but no ETA.

I looked around but didn't see it, where is the file you attached for DL'ing guys and who to add to the 40 afterwords?

Traditionally with the Hybrid and pitch edits in particular the control ratings for each pitch are set lower than SDS control ratings. This year seems to be the same. Personally I love the way the game plays with lower pitch control ratings but you might have to keep an eye on pitches in the dirt, walks, overall offense etc if you want to play with Default sliders. The pitcher control/consistency sliders may need some tweaking depending on your level. As Bravesfan said Armors sliders would be a good starting point and adjust from there.

Great roster set - hope they pair nicely with Armor's slider set.

Quick heads up for those that care......

There are roughly 10 to 15 "scrubs" who have multi yr contracts and shouldn't.

I just went into each team and sorted by contract length - you'll easily recognize the minor leaguers who should only have 1 year deals.

Additionally - there are probably 7 to 10 RP's who have really high staminas. I recommend moving them to SP or decreasing their stamina to 40 to 45.

Just a couple of things I have noticed that I wanted to change. Took me 15 minutes to make these edits.

Angels

Luis Pena has service time for some reason. Houston spotted that in the OSFM roster a few days ago.

Jake Yaacinich has been released by LAA

Jahmai Jones has moved from CF to 2B now.


Twins

Brian Navarreto has service time as well for some reason. Houston pointed that out as well. (The service time thing i think might be an issue from transferring a player from 17 to 18).

Rays

Xorge Carillo was released last month

Mariners

Zach Shank retired last week

Zach Vincej needs service time. He was one of the missing players in 18. Service time should be 0.031 from last season with the Reds.

Lindsey Caughel also has service time as well and shouldn't.

Rangers

Tony Sanchez has incorrect service time. I have the correct version I'll upload it later for you.

Luis Marte was released last week and is now with the Braves AA Mississippi.

Astros

Arturo Michelena was released a few weeks ago.

Braves

Released Cleuluis Rondon a few days ago

Marlins

Released Chris Mazza a week ago or so.

Nationals

I believe Nick Lee is no longer with the Org.

Raudy Reed needs service time. Should be 0.031. If you need him i have him.

No problem - there were bound to be a handful of things that were overlooked - a roster set like this is a huge undertaking.

We decided to run pitch edits in house this year. The average pitch rating is about a 60, because that seemed consistent with how the game rated things.

We'll likely refine our approach going forward (especially around the lower pitches), but I'm glad to hear you noticed the change. We hope it gives better results across the board.

Good question. I am also curious because if quick release say tomorrow am no problem. If not, I am curious if the released guys are put in free agency or if they are imported over? If free agency, I can't find the damn thing...lol.
