I want to ask about Seranthony Dominguez (Phillies RP). His velocity sits at 75 which means his fastball tops out at 95 or seldom 96mph in game. However in reality he normally throws at 98-99 and hits 100-101mph on a good day. SDS have his velocity at a 99 in the latest live update.

Would you agree that his velocity stat should be bumped up? Can you recommend a value?
Not to answer for the guys, but I would go to Fangraphs or Brooks baseball and see what the average velocity for his fastball is and set it to that. The velocity changes based on other pitches so no number actually corresponds to a set pitch velocity.

#2 in your program, #1 in our hearts. You will be missed, Red.

If you don't mind I'll jump in here. I would not use fangraphs, use Brooksbaseball.net for all your pitching needs, unless data not available.

Here you can see his average fastball rating at Brooksbaseball.net

I would give him arm strength of at least 79, but that's just me.

Thanks for the advice. I admit I do not understand how the attributes synergize with each other, so I am probably wrong in my approach here. Plus I know there is a methodology the team follows when editing these attributes for the roster.

That said all I did was set 4 seamer to 99 velocity, following the pitch speed indicator on screen and during testing was hitting 97-98mph. (Threw about 100 pitches in practice mode). I know it's not that simple so if I see things getting out of whack I will lower it again.

A question for you guys....do any of you rerate the draft class in your franchise? If so, what is your methodology behind those rerates?

Hope everyone is enjoying the playoffs. I think it's been a pretty exciting one, even with my team getting spanked early on. I wish everyone the spookiest and creepiest Halloween ever. Baahahah Baaaaha.

P.S. Just stay away from the candy corn. That crap is nasty...

I was enjoying the playoffs up until the point when my Braves got knocked out, ugh. So after that, I couldn't bring myself to watch the rest of the playoffs. In the meantime, we've been plugging away on the 2019 hybrid set!

We will be discussing adjustments to the calc in the coming months to improve upon the roster, but as of right now, we are still pulling info from the same source Pat has linked in the calc.

Ok all, this is will be the first year for me exporting the franchise file over into the new game this spring, to export/import players. I have a few questions I'm hoping you all can answer for me to ensure I got all the details right:

                        1. Sony guys remain non-exportable correct?
                        2. To get correct service time for guys who played in MLB that won't be on the base SCEA roster, I'll need to sim the first season of the franchise file?
                        3. Are there any other quirks or details I need to know about?

Currently, I'm getting the roster file set up to create a franchise that can be carried over into the new game. I'm going through and moving all FA's to the FA pool and replacing guys that were in the FA pool (some retired/some that never signed or played in 2018) with draft picks/minor leaguers.

Is there a roster with all the 2018 prospects included ? Or is anyone at least creating one? I’d love to start a 2019 franchise with Casey Mize and company , but I’m not sure if there are any out there. I’d do it myself but I suck at making faces.

You could always use the latest Hybrid roster and export the draft picks from OSFM and import them into the Hybrid.

This is correct. Or just sim however many days you need to get service time correct for whatever player you are working on.
