Re: 2018 OSFM Hybrid Roster Project
We're hard at work, both on the rosters and ratings side. We just finished pitch edits, and once we finish defensive ratings, we'll be good to start re-rating.
It's getting there. And the new additions should make this our best set yet.Comment

Re: 2018 OSFM Hybrid Roster Project
We're looking at doing pitch edits in house. The stats are out there, and so are the rationales, so it's mostly tying things together at scale.
For speed, the goal is to use statcast spring speed. It should be simple enough to map to speed scores, given SDS is already using it.
That said, this only works for major leaguers, so we're looking at ways to fill the gaps for minor leaguers. So everything needs a fallback, because we don't have the luxury of having all we need for 3000 players.
But it should be a good improvement over last year, and we're always listening for comments, suggestions, and feedback.Comment

Re: 2018 OSFM Hybrid Roster Project
We're pulling statcast pitch data, which is the same data Brooks draws from. It's ball and swinging strike based, but with a few adjustments to smooth out the edges.
Results look really promising. I can't wait until we can start releasing.Comment

Re: 2018 OSFM Hybrid Roster Project
Guys,
I am really looking forward to this roster. While I love OSFM this takes it to a different level of realism. Especially the pitch edits. Those really add so much to an already great roster set in OSFM.
Appreciate the dedication a project like this and of course the initial OSFM takes. Now Playing on PS5:

Re: 2018 OSFM Hybrid Roster Project
The rosters are great, but somewhat inacurate. The running speeds are way off on some players. Just because a player doesn't steal bases doesn't mean they're not fast. On another note; Isaac paredes is not a switch hitter, he bats and throws right handComment

Are you referring to OSFM rosters? Our Hybrid roster isn't out yet. All of that will be cleaned up with our editing process.Comment
