    Re: OSFM for MLB 19

I’m probably gonna get hate for asking this. But OSFM rosters are the reason I play franchise. I can’t wait for these community rosters that you guys will be making to come out. Same as Ridin’s OSFM. But with that here comes my question don’t hate me guys. Cuz I pour my life into this game everywhere I redo every single players equipment to match what they wear and use. I don’t like generic equipment on anyone. So my question is......

Can you give us fans a timeline for this community roster to drop in the vault? Yes I know game hasn’t dropped but just a quick guesstimate on when?

The general rule, don't ask for release dates. It'll be there when it's there. It's the most annoying thing to Roster Makers.

We are happy you guys wanna do your own “OSFM” or whatever you will call it but please since none of the guys working on the orignal set are working on this dont advertise that its that as we have already had people asking questions about it... I understand the impatience and you guys can not wait to get started on your Franchises or whatever but we take the quality of what we release seriously and wont take short cuts so some people can play a few weeks early. We wish you guys well with whatver roster you do but again the original OSFM guys are still working on our roster and dont want any confusion as we take enough heat when we make mistakes after working on this set for 6-9 months every year.

First, let me send my admiration to you and your team for years of hard work you put into these rosters. As a person who has done rosters/CAPS for many years, I know and appreciate all the hard work you and your team put into accuracy and getting to do these rosters. I know you guys put an extreme amount of effort into it. I tell everyone you guys have the best base roster to be editable to make perfect and the Hybrid team is just complete awesomeness. When I heard this could be your last year, it kinda stunk but I also was happy cause if you had more time to spend in your life as if that what you want, is awesome. So, if this is the last year, than I know it's going to be the best. A little advice, be careful how to quote things. To some, who may not know you're a real nice peson, your comment comes off kinda like non-supportive, even if you did mention you were wishing them luck. I hope you guys decide to forever do these rosters, but if not, MLB the show is going be in good hands. We have some amazing people here who know will finally get their opportunity to be on a team and make what you guys started even better. It may be rough for first year but their is always someone who is striving to do something better than the people before. Please get 100 percent behind this team because this could be the best thing that ever happened to the show. Again, I hope you forever do rosters but if you all decide to step away, the future is going be ok. We all are better for the years you put in.

Also. you're right about the name not be confused with your guys. Great thing to point out

In the CRP roster thread, ninertravel mentioned possibly sometime in April.

Ridindwnkingsley wasn't being discouraging at all. Him and his team are well known for these rosters and I 100% understand why he would want to protect their end result, as they have a lot invested in these and have had other opportunities because of the work they do. Yes these will be based off the roster the team created last year with a few awesome community members coming together to make some updates. I am sure none of them would even be willing to do this if Ridin roster was coming out on the same timeline as every year prior. These rosters are so people don't have to wait until summer to start a franchise. Think of Ridin roster as the band Kiss, and the CRP rosters are a kiss cover band with some new original material sprinkled in (I hope this is an accurate comparison).

Ridin has been apart of this community for longer than most of us have been playing this game and he knows this community is full of amazing people. I for one will still be downloading and using his roster set this year as I have every year. Unfortunately because of the lack of franchise updates I will probably be burned out on the show by the time they come out. And for that I am happy some people stepped up to update the 2018 rosters so that we can have a somewhat realistically functioning franchise.

I am probably going to sound like an idiot for asking... but I keep seeing a lot of people saying they are importing their roster from 18 into 19. Is there an export > import roster feature? Could I download the most updated roster from 18 and import it into 19 or I am completely misunderstanding something?

Unfortunately we cannot. On 18, you have to set roster control to on when starting a franchise with the roster you want players to come from. In 19 when it releases, carry over the save, then export each player into a roster file for 19. This becomes longer when you have to simulate service time, etc.

I don't know who caufield is? so, no I didn't get anyone confused. My comment was a response to Ridin. Yes, Ridin has played this game a long time, as have I and so many people on this board. Your response pretty much said everything I did. It is great that someone is going to implement a roster when this roster may not be around for much longer. That is awesome. Their are so many good roster creators who can have that chance to show. That is awesome and Ridin and his team have done an amazing job. It's just nice to know if this is the last year of Ridin's roster, we are going be in great hands in the future. The fact is if Ridin is in the last year, the game will still be made and a new roster will be there to lead us into the future. That is a very encouraging thought. That is why this community is great because not one person is bigger than the other and what made OSFM a go to site. I think it's great to see that return to OSFM and I don't think anyone can argue about that. I agree as I said in my original post he should protect his work but as he said, we are to do that we want with it in the future and that will be a great base going forward if this is the last ride. As far as being discouraging, that is how you interpret. I think some would take it not and others the opposite. No way to determine that. It's always important to remember in life we are only great as the people around us and this is why OSFM is great, because we all are the community. You have a wonderful day.

Ridin said he doesn't expect to get anything out until late summer like August, which honestly means we won't get anything from him at all unfortunately. He started working for OOTP and has moved on from The Show. Don't blame him honestly, franchise is being left behind again no point wasting time on a dying mode when you have bigger fish to catch.

Guys once again, read what i say clearly, I said maybe May maybe August, depends on how much work needs to be done. As those who worked in rosters with me last year know that Sonys base was a mess last year and took us literally weeks to fix it before we even added players. So as much as anyone here wants to say any roster worth anything can have any kind of release day yet is just not accurate. We all have to wait until we see what the roster looks like before we can approximate anything. Just being honest guys.

That’s Right what, really slows us down is the missing vets. And the missing vets that should never be missing at all is frustrating as hell.

Sony never releases a update till mid April so if having to wait on them puts things behind too.

It’s a complete mess day 1 I have a system though to get around things quick as possible there was a time I use to do 53 man rosters for madden, ps2 days when rosters meant something back and then, so I’m ocd

Everyone does like to have a release date for something. My job is full of deadlines in itself so I’m used to meeting them.

If i can get all the teams rosters at least looking accurate with the right players and service tone for vets. I’ll be happy that will be a beta release all the other work re relates ect we can work on after that. So if anyone is happy with a quick April fix and can’t wait can have a beta version just won’t have re ratings etc

I’m really excited people are making a new roster. After ridin announced it was his last year I was worried about this game going forward since it’s my favorite game to play. That being said thank you ridin for all the years and thank you to the people picking it up and running with it.
