Welcome to the community ckratz. I would recommend getting with ninertraveler and seeing what you can do to help with the CRP roster project that will be based off of last years OSFM and updated. Quite a few guys are already helping to make this a good roster set until Ridin releases theirs, and I am sure any talents you have to contribute would be much appreciated. More strength in numbers, and we are all better off coming together to produce the best roster set possible.

Thank you. Right now I am focusing on developing an application for game rating generation. I feel this could help reduce the time spent by eliminating the majority of manual data entry/calculations outside the game. I will provide more details in a future thread about this but in short, the application will scrape data offline and automatically generate the appropriate in-game ratings taking a variety of factors into account such as potential, age, year-to-year tendencies, etc... One major benefit of this is the source data is always up-to-date and available immediately. When this is complete, it will be free for anybody to download. So that is my primary focus right now and I will be testing that along the way on my own roster set for this year. I do not want to commit to the community set if I cannot devote all my time and a working application to it just yet.

Little late to the party. It was established almost 2 months ago that it didn't come from OS directly. Guess you missed it...............Maybe next time you could read through some threads rather than trying to play "Messiah" on Twitter and Twitch and assume no one mentioned it.

It clearly needed to be restated since as you can tell by the previous posts in this thread that quite a few others also missed not only your post but Steve's post which were in a different thread.

Believe it or not, we don't like seeing it thrown around post over post that we sent something we never sent to stop a project we've always promoted and supported (and used ourselves I might add).

Also, and sorry for the double post, I just want to point out for those that doubt what Showtyme, Steve, and Mill have already stated (and I'm sure there are a few who still don't believe it).

            Please think of the following.

If there was something on THIS site that OS didn't want here. We have our own tools to remove it and wouldn't need to spend ANY money whatsoever to send a C&D.

            We can lock threads.
            We can delete threads.
We can ban users if they would keep posting what we don't want them to post.

There would no reason for us to ever go that route if there was something we didn't want here.

It's clear that there's some weird bad blood going on between OS and the guys who make OSFM and I'm not sure where/why that all started, but I don't really have a side to take in that.

That being said, I really don't see what OS would stand to gain by blocking one of its most sought after "products" (the OSFM) from taking place every year. That would be like Dunkin Donuts sending a cease and desist letter to franchises for selling coffee in their stores. It defies belief as to how that would actually come about.

I honestly have no idea what happened or what is going on but it appears to me that there is no bad blood between OS and the OSFM guys.

is there any good formulas for converting OOTP ratings to The Show? There are so many prospects there for future rosters etc.

To be honest. I don't think there is beef between OS and the roster guys. I think that Roster creators are sick and tired of not being considered "content creators", and being considered second class citizens to YouTube and twitch streamers. Rightfully so. I think roster and slider guys, especially the ones who get heavy downloads, are just as important to cultivating a mass following for this and other games. I think the constant neglect has left a feeling of disenchantment for a lot of people involved with creating for sports titles quite frankly.

Do you have an example? I have been doing my own re-rates for a while and have formulas developed based (and tweaked) off one of Knights very old ratings spreadsheets.

Perfectly put I 100% agree. "OSFM" sold me on this game and ultimately led to me purchasing a PS4.

I totally understand this. It's funny though because when I think of The Show and get ready to play I think of guys like Knight, Ridin, Willard, Showtyme, etc. You know, the guys that put the time in to make the game enjoyable and competitive. I honestly couldn't tell you one name of one person who streams The Show on Twitch or Youtube. Although I guess Mill does so maybe I should watch him.

Gotta agree with this. OS always puts up a post on the front page whenever OSFM released a roster. OS has always been supporting it, so it was hard to believe that OS sent them a C&D. Now I know thats not the case.

I would like to know too. OOTP has become probably the best sim baseball game out there in the past couple years, and always starts with all prospects and even draft prospects for 4 future drafts.

Same for me, although half of what made me buy a PS4 last May was the exclusives like TLOU, Spider-Man, and Days Gone.

100%. It always boggles my mind when a guy like MrHurriicane can have 200K subscribers, and always mention the slider and roster guys here for his franchises, yet those roster and slider guys never really get much attention from that.
