Okay here’s what he pitches to the first 5 batters as it closely resembles the brooks Baseball break down vsL and vsR batters.. notice how canning doesn’t use his slider on left hand batters and rather the curve instead.. one thing I noticed is how mlb the show engine favors certain pitches more than others giving different results game to game and I think this roster plays on that effect big time.. notice I assigning him a cutter instead of a slider and why he has 2 curves balls in his repertoire.. well if we’re being realistic he’s throwing a 89mph slider so it’s technically a cutter by nature and if you a read the break of the pitch when landing provided by brooks Baseball canning pitch it literally classified a cutter by break of the pitch.. now this what I noticed and hate about the show.. if I was to assign the slider as the pitch classification mlb tends to favor and use it more than I would like it to be used via cpu vs cpu and more so importantly than what he would like and actually do in real life and I feel this has everything to do with your fielding issue as the pitch results after being hit are supposed to be doin 2 different things while the cutter is more of a flyball pitch while the the slider is more of a ground ball pitch or whatever the case my be but this has every bit to do with what we have to experience because a limited gameplay setting.. but back to pitch classification when I assign the cutter instead of the slider the gameplay engine tends to react differently.. using the slider in a way he would to lefty’s in real life which if less than often favoring the 1st 3rd 4th and 5th pitches most and that’s what I’m tryna figure out now but I think I’m heading in the right direction as I had this same problem with my nba2k sims and it was simply solved by how I assign players play order.. my logic behind it was driven from synergy sports technology and they always preached how in basketball the first 3 things happenes before anything else can be determined which is

    Pick and Roll
    Iso
    Offball actions (3,handoffs,pick,post)

and until then plays were assigned in any order imaginable but it was until then my games started to resemble what I would see on tv but this is about baseball we can talk sports and sports gaming all day but things went up from there and 2k has a greater sim setup than any other sports game so it’s not fair but their logic in sports gaming is unworldly compared to others let’s say that.. oh and I’m from San Francisco and I called the raptors win in 5 when they were announced as other sadly but hopefully KD changes things but back to baseball I try assigning hard pitches first especially if he has multiples in the first 2 or 3 slots if brooks requires it then if the pitcher has a breaking ball it’s after the hard stuff followed by the off speed... now this varies pitcher to pitcher depending how they like to serve things up there on the mound but by doing it this way I noticed the pitcher not only threw his pitches in a more realistic sequence he also favored pitches by break more so than by pitch order assignment and its reflected the results I’m getting now coming close if not perfect to what I’m seeing in real life to a point I’m seeing thing on the show that happens on tv and winning money with it and I don’t want this work going unnoticed as everybody can capitalize on it really but yeah lineups are out now bud

Re: The TrueSim Roster Project: MLB 19

Final release will be today, at some point. Wrapping everything up in a bow and finalizing the NL.

Worked on re-calibrating arm strength ratings for the majority of the league's outfielders yesterday. A new formula was implemented that uses relative hold rate and kill rate; each outfielder is rated based on how their hold rate and kill rate compare to the league average at their outfield spot. The old calculation was based on the overall fielding skill of the fielder with a position adjustment that slightly boosted arm strength for CF and RF under the old baseball logic that more often than not, the LF has the weakest arm. Under the new calculations, that isn't always the case, but it is interesting that it still occurs quite a bit.

And Billy Hamilton still checks all of the boxes in CF; even the old system was smart enough to know this. He may not wow you with Laureano-like throws, but he is still near the top of the league with above average hold and kill rates in CF. Another notable change is Mike Trout, who's arm strength is now a tick under league average. The old system wasn't smart enough to calculate this.

Thanks to everyone who has provided feedback. These rosters are the best available and your feedback is a big reason for that. In starting this project, my goal was to improve the longevity of franchise mode by improving sim results and AI logic, as well as making sure the gameplay truly reflects the nuances of baseball.

I'm excited to finally dive into franchise and see the results in their full glory.

Thank you for this project. The amount of your time and detail spent on this is really appreciated. I also plugged the sliders in you mentioned before and I’m hooked, I can’t use another roster. Great job and thanks again.
