Re: The TrueSim Roster Project: MLB 19
So I started updating my rosters manually with the first spread sheet, (almost done with all the pitchers. Do you you anticipate a lot of changes to the attributes? Should I start over? ThanksComment

Cyc: so happy to hear the roster is coming along with your plans..i'm personally waiting for next weekend to get the "best of both worlds".I am the way
I am the light
I am the dark inside the night.
I hear your hopes
I feel your dreams
And in the dark I hear your screams
Don't turn away, Just take my hand
I'll never leave, All I ask of you, Is Believe.

Re: The TrueSim Roster Project: MLB 19
Ty for the rosters, how do you suggest dealing with ohtani?
And when you say say the al is ready but nl is not, I know that mainly means line ups, but if you skip spring Training your line ups get boggled up anyway.
And selecting all teams still causes the CPU to put the best players at each position. Any advice?I stream a variety of video games for relaxation and fun.

When I say the AL is complete, I say that both final rerates and depth charts are franchise ready. The lineups and rotations were not entered by hand. They are auto-generated by the CPU. In order to achieve realistic lineups and rotations, the depth charts have to be fixed. You don't need to use 30-team control to have the proper lineups intact.
Injured players are also handled like this:
-10 day IL with clear timetable = AAA, 40 man
-10 day IL with no timetable = AAA, no 40 man
-60 day IL but returning this season likely = AAA, no 40 man
-10/60 day IL and out for season = A, no 40 man
For example, if you start franchise right now, the main Rays lineup will look like this:
1. Tommy Pham (LF)
2. Willy Adames (SS)
3. Austin Meadows (DH)
4. Mike Zunino (C)
5. Ji-Man Choi (1B)
6. Brandon Lowe (2B)
7. Avisail Garcia (RF)
8. Kevin Kiermaier (CF)
9. Daniel Robertson (3B)
Rotation:
1. Blake Snell
2. Charlie Morton
3. Yonny Chirinos
4. Ryan Yarbrough
5. Ryne Stanek (Opener)
From there, you can allow your franchise to live and breathe. If you want to sim to present day and start, you can. If you want to start on opening day, you can. You don't have to manually injure anyone, you can let injuries happen organically. The goal is to help the AI behave well and these rosters will be prepared for franchise.
I fired up franchise just now and noticed Gleyber Torres is in AAA instead of at MLB. This is a bug, it will be fixed. I will keep an eye out for similar bugs in logic as we get things wrapped up in the next week 4-8 days.Comment

You need 30 team control, 25 man roster, and manual lineups/rotations. You can then skip ST and lineups and rotations will stick. Even if a player gets injured and you select AUTO on injury screen, CPU will just replace player in lineup/rotation and return player to that slot once injury clears. You can manually add players to 40 man as you wish. It won’t change lineups/rotation. Only caveat is if you manually change lineups after injury, the injured player might not return to original slot and might replace someone important because you manually jumbled lineup.Comment

Not sure about Ohtani

Second, I would like to make a suggestion/thought since you have not completed NL as yet. Would you consider putting the IL players in A ball? I usually put the players with non-season ending injuries on their ML teams in proper lineup/rotation and then manually injure each player and put them on either 10 or 60 day IL. This way when they come off injury they automatically get placed in their proper ML lineup/rotation slot. By having everyone in A ball, I can quickly add the player to the ML team without having to sort thru the minors to find them all. Also, by leaving ML players in the minors who are on the IL, the ML player will accumulate minor league stats until you move them to ML. Finally, even if you move them from AAA as I do, I now still have to re-set the minor league rosters as they will be short players. I figure it is easier to just have IL players in A ball then you only have to set minor league rosters once.
Anyhow..just food for thought...Comment

Re: The TrueSim Roster Project: MLB 19
Cycloniac and co, the rosters look great. I really appreciate the work that went into this and thanks for sharing the spreadsheet as well.
Scrolling through the lineups, I only noticed 2 positions issues:
1. Lourdes Gurriel Jr. (Blue Jays) is listed as 1B but IRL he switched from 2B to LF and is now starting LF for the Jays.
2. Josh Naylor (Padres) has been playing RF for San Diego but is listed as LF (this is also present in OSFM)
Thanks again for these rosters and looking forward to the final version.Comment

Re: The TrueSim Roster Project: MLB 19
Hey man, thank you, I only had about ten minutes to browse through the rosters and I really liked what I seen a lot. I’ll be looking deeper into it later. One thing I noticed though, that I didn’t really understand, was that it seems like there are a whole lot of A potential players and 99 potential players that I didn’t expect to see. One that caught my eye was Matt Shumacher (99 pot). I see myself making a lot of edits to potential, which is ok. Is there something I’m missing though? What is the reason for having so many A potential players, like Shumacher for example?Comment
