Second, I would like to make a suggestion/thought since you have not completed NL as yet. Would you consider putting the IL players in A ball? I usually put the players with non-season ending injuries on their ML teams in proper lineup/rotation and then manually injure each player and put them on either 10 or 60 day IL. This way when they come off injury they automatically get placed in their proper ML lineup/rotation slot. By having everyone in A ball, I can quickly add the player to the ML team without having to sort thru the minors to find them all. Also, by leaving ML players in the minors who are on the IL, the ML player will accumulate minor league stats until you move them to ML. Finally, even if you move them from AAA as I do, I now still have to re-set the minor league rosters as they will be short players. I figure it is easier to just have IL players in A ball then you only have to set minor league rosters once.

      Anyhow..just food for thought...
      Yes, I can do that

So, instead of AAA, they will be in A.

40 man for 10 day, no 40 man for 60 day and season ending injuries.

Excellent..yes that would be great. Are you just doing 40 man or also 25 man? If 25 man, then all injured can be in A ball. Very easy to move them from there. I start with 25 man so lienups/rotations stick and then add players to 40 man as injuries/call ups warrant.

One that caught my eye was Matt Shumacher (99 pot). I see myself making a lot of edits to potential, which is ok. Is there something I’m missing though? What is the reason for having so many A potential players, like Shumacher for example?
I discuss the logic behind the potential ratings starting on page 13

Re: The TrueSim Roster Project: MLB 19

Okay, I loaded the Roster up, and loaded up my sliders to play a couple of test games.

So far, I have enjoyed the re-ratings, and after I read up on how the numbers were generated it made it more interesting to me.

Sandy Leon went from a SCEA Speed Rating of 2 to 20, and at first I thought that to be odd, but then I realized the slowest guys are now rated 20.

What is interesting, is that even with my slider set the way that it is, 20 is still pretty slow, but the throws to first to get a 20-rated runner, looked more realistic than throwing out a 1 or a 2, when that batter hit a fairly hard ground ball to the left side.

I played three games with the same lineup, and threw Porcello in all three games. I did notice he was missing his signature 2-seam fastball from the repertoire, but it appears the movement of his 2 seamer is more realistically portrayed with the sinkerball, so renaming it wasn't a problem, I just need to remember that his pitch selection has changed.

Mookie was rated a 99, which at first was kind of odd, especially with a speed rating of 66. Mookie is one of the fastest guys on the Red Sox, so I am not sure how that algorithm is worked up, and I am not sure that if we are rating based on a hard cap of XX as the fastest guy, maybe a 66 is the relative speed of the faster guys, based on a top speed rating of 85?

I will continue to test my sliders, as I have fielder speed at 3 and reaction at 2, so the re-ratings may require me to adjust the sliders to make up for the ratings not going 1-99.

The game played just fine, I had realistic results, and the power guys certainly do some damage.

I am not sure I would have Devers with a higher power rating than Chavis, as Chavis has the five furthest distance homeruns of the entire team, but maybe his rookie status keeps his power number down?

I'll continue to test and tweak, but so far, these seem to play a good portrayal of baseball.

I'm pretty sure he uses sprint speed statcast data from baseball savant. Mookie is in the 72nd percentile for speed. He is the 18th fastest OF and 143rd fastest recorded player so far this season. The sprint speed stat is designed to capture how fast a player truly is when they should be running at maximum effort. It is a pretty interesting read on baseball savant where they break down how (and why) they capture data this way.

Looking forward to these, Cycloniac. Last year's set was what I used and loved them.
