Well, batting average is driven by a few things, not just contact--but a rough estimate would be around 60 contact for a .250, 70+ for a .300 hitter.

Lately I've been using directional hitting & classic pitching with Armor's settings and sliders. Will your sliders play well with directional/classic?

Are you also going to be updating the spreadsheet as well. I'm inputing my the data manually.

Yes I assume vision and other attributes come in to play, but this is helpful. Thanks. Once you are done with this and if you feel like it, I would love a little glossary on what the various ratings mean to you. I have asked SDS to explain their ratings but they have not. I know you have not had time to enjoy the game so just a long shot request. Really appreciate your great work on these, as I have been plugging in numbers as I play games (for both teams) and they play great.

I've been using Armor's sliders with TrueSim's ratings for some time. And they play great! But make sure both teams have his ratings. Otherwise the results might be off.

Some of you may find this useful/interesting:

I made a simple formula to correct drafted player ages, based on their OVRs and potential ratings. The majority of drafted players should fall within ages 18 and 22, so I took that into account.

              The formula is essntially:
              Age Adjustment 1: Min(22,100-Potential)
              Age Adjustment 2: Min(22, Overall/2)
So that, the fixed age is: average(AA1, AA1, AA2)

For example, if a player has a 60 OVR with an 83 potential, his fixed age will be 19.

If a player has a 45 OVR with a 99 potential, his fixed age will be 18 (raw prospect, needs seasoning in A ball).

If a player is a 65 OVR with a 70 potential, his fixed age will be 22. He could be a useful bench/utility option, played in college and wasn't good enough to be drafted sooner.

It's a simple but useful tool. You can play around with it here:

Looking forward to this set. I’m just wondering, is ohtani going to be a SP or OF in this set?

We are using the SDS version of Ohtani, so SP/2-way player

Ok cool. I was just wondering because the latest versions of the SDS roster has Ohtani as a RF. So, he can’t become a SP in those rosters, unless I missed something

I'll double-check, but it will be whatever version is in the latest OSFM base.

I double-checked and yes, Ohtani is a pitcher with the corner outfield spots as his secondaries in our roster.

This may be a silly question and maybe even answered in the thread already but will transactions be up to date of release?

Hey man, I wonder if you'd consider making a change to the pitch edits of Aaron Sanchez? He definitely throws a 2-seamer, not a sinker (although there are arguments that the pitch is basically the same IRL, you can't go upstairs effectively in the game with the sinker pitch), as well as he is known for having some of the most movement in the league on that pitch. It seems a tad low on your ratings. Was wondering your thoughts on that or if there was a specific methodology that I'm missing Thanks!
