Any suggestions on how i could simulate injuries that happen in games? As in that I would manually injure them after the game has been played.

Re: The TrueSim Roster Project: MLB 19
Was making the recent added pitches edit to my roster and noticed Jon Lester's break attribute for his change up is 0. Spreadsheet says it should be 50.
Also on the spreadsheet is the MPH column the number that I should input into the velocity attribute or is it the number that should show next to the pitch name. eg. Sweeping Curve 75mph. If it's the latter, does it matter what the velocity attribute is set too because it can stay at the same mph for a few attribute points before it decreases or increases.
Guessing it's the latter looking at how the other attributes have been inputted. Was a little confusing. :P
Also I don't see Yu Darvish's 5th pitch on the ratings spreadsheet. Along with it saying his 4th pitch is a 'Sweep' but in the game he has a cutter.
Finally, how do I set up franchise so that the CPU doesn't mess around with all the rosters, lineups and pitching rotations. Is it by starting in spring training then sending the players down on the last day? If i skip to the reg season then its all messed up.Last edited by nbacoventry; 06-22-2019, 01:39 PM.Comment

MPH is the speed you're targetting, not the velocity number (I have no idea of calculating that number)Comment

Hey @Cycloniac
I'm a bit unfamiliar with your rosters but I'm very intrigued by them. One question I have is why are there so many players with 'A Potential' like Hector Velasquez (Red Sox), Dan Straily (Orioles), Ivan Nova (White Sox) and top prospects like Eloy Jimenez have 'B Potential (85)?' You seem like a very smart guy so I'm sure there's a reason I'm not seeing.
Is there a progression reason for this that I don't know about or something?
Edit: Also, another question, if you don't mind... why are a lot of prospects stuck with such generic ratings? For example: both Blake Rutherford and Zach Collins have 60/60 contact and 50/50 power.
Edit 2: I just simmed a season and I have to say I'm super impressed by the way the stats pan out for the Major League guys (didn't dig too much into the Minors) and I love that players are asking for realistic contracts. I'm sure these were intended results and they speak for themselves.Last edited by BodamEscapePlan; 06-25-2019, 12:20 PM.MLB: CHICAGO WHITE SOX

Progression is based on an aging curve, which takes into account current age and current ability. Eloy Jimenez was an A prospect. He has now played at the major league level, and based on his production and age, he receives an 85 potential. His minor league production doesn't matter. For our purposes, he has not done enough to warrant the A potential he once had. However, if he produces, his potential rating can increase in the game, along with his OVR.
Here is the aging curve and potential scale:
Potential Scale
Age Hitters Pitchers
20 20 15
21 15 15
22 15 15
23 10 15
24 10 20
25 10 10
26 10 10
27 10 10
28 15 10
29 20 10
30 5 15
31 5 15
32 5 20
33 5 10
34 5 10
35 20 20
36 20 20
37 20 20
38 20 20
39 20 20
40 20 20
Edit: Also, another question, if you don't mind... why are a lot of prospects stuck with such generic ratings? For example: both Blake Rutherford and Zach Collins have 60/60 contact and 50/50 power.
Because they have not played at the major league level. Instead, they received batting splits that reflect their profiles as contact, power or balanced hitters, based on the scouting reports available. From there, production, both minor and major (if they make it), will determine their batting profiles. Ratings change with the franchise engine.
Edit 2: I just simmed a season and I have to say I'm super impressed by the way the stats pan out for the Major League guys (didn't dig too much into the Minors) and I love that players are asking for realistic contracts. I'm sure these were intended results and they speak for themselves.Comment

Re: The TrueSim Roster Project: MLB 19
How does your potential system work in years 2, ,3, 4 etc? If potential is based off of a players age and current overall, do you go through and re-edit every player?Comment

Re: The TrueSim Roster Project: MLB 19
I have to say outcome looks like a bit more major league players.
Just prove that full rating revision with a solid baseline is a must.
Good to see outfielders which have a chance to throw the ball outside of the position top 3-4.
Makes me hesitate to restart... a very big thank you2025 Miami Marlins
