Hey Cy, I want to clarify something about the draft prospect ratings calculator. After we enter the OVR and POT (also Position, Type of Hitter for position players/Best per 9 attribute for pitchers), I understand that we update Age and then the new ratings. At the end of the new ratings is a new POT. Are we supposed to then change the POT "in game?" That's a bummer if so, because my 90 potential prospect drops to an 80!!! Please clarify, I want to get this right.

Re: The TrueSim Roster Project: MLB 22
My 1st round pick, 96 POT, dropped to a 90. My inclination is to leave them all alone then. I’m guessing that the problem with that is we would end up with too many high 90s players, but on the other hand we won’t have any, right? I guess I’m seeing if you can convince me it is worth doing.Comment

If you're fine with that, you can leave them. Potential system just won't match with the original roster.Comment

I mean that pitchers tend to progress to whatever the potential rating is, regardless of performance, more often than notComment

Re: The TrueSim Roster Project: MLB 22
Now time to crunch numbers and see how well the old method holds up compared to the Statcast data (probably some good, some less so since the old method was largely position dependent).Comment

Re: The TrueSim Roster Project: MLB 22
Well, with all the great work that you do with these rosters they are probably pretty close. The Statcast report does show the average for each position, so the big question is how you distribute the ratings around the average and what the average rating is for each position. i.e. the avg arm rating for a ss should be higher than a second baseman all things being equal.Comment

Cy Do you have ratings updated for position players? I was looking for Michael Harris II.
