Clearly what's wrong here is the Rangers.....

The game released not too long after the new format was created in the CBA but youd think it wouldnt be that hard to add in a patch!

Lmao I didn't even notice the rangers...I just quick simmed. I'm not done my actual franchise but was curious bc on Twitter they simmed out the playoffs with current format but someone replied how can they when they don't even have the correct playoff format in the game...had to see for myself. Very disappointed [emoji20] but if I'm not mistaken it had the top three teams in franchise play for wildcard spots? I'll have to check my real franchise later when I get a chance. Could've sworn I saw it like that on the game.

Are all contracts up to date for this roster set?

New to these sliders, i see there’s gameplay and simulation sliders. Am I supposed to switch between the two each time I am simming the AI’s games? So, use the simulation sliders, sim all the days games, switch back to gameplay sliders and play my teams game?

Just want to be sure this is best way to utilize this full set of this masterpiece.

After going and taking a look at the standings I did see they in fact do not have even the wildcard standings reflect the bracket round. Can't believe this is something that couldn't be patched into the game after release when they knew it was on the table.

Do you know when it was last updated? I checked this morning and the last roster I could see was from mid July?

Initially it was done at beginning of the season to reflect all the signings from this past off-season. I don't think Cy went and did anything with them once guys started resigning in the later part of the season.

Believe it or not, only playing the last game of each series, I am leading the A.L. West by 8 games on June 13th. <shrug>

Re: The TrueSim Roster Project: MLB 22

Finished the 2022 season at 81-81 with the Orioles, thanks in large part to Adley Rutschman (AL ROTY, .857 OPS) and Cedric Mullins (35 SB, led team with 4.1 WAR) and several pitchers stepping forward including Felix Bautista (34 SV, 2.32 ERA) and international free agent signing Rōki Sasaki (18 QS, 3.14 ERA). We traded for Tyler O'Neill midseason due to an injury to Austin Hays, and dealt away some veteran players including Lyles, Santander, Lopez and Chirinos at the deadline to bolster the farm system, notably acquiring infield prospect Gabriel Arias from the Guardians who would join the major league team for the second half of the year. The Orioles struggled for a lot of the season but pulled it together in September to finish on a hot streak and get themselves to a .500 record, which made me very proud.

The offseason for the Orioles was relatively quiet with only a few notable moves. We signed Zach Eflin in free agency to bolster the rotation, Martin Maldonado to provide a veteran backup & mentor for Adley, and added Luis Guillorme and Ha-Seong Kim (who the Padres had on the trading block due to Tatis returning) to upgrade the middle infield. Top prospects Grayson Rodriguez, Gunnar Henderson, Jordan Westburg, and DL Hall will start the year in AAA but I wouldn't be surprised if they play their way into the major league team by the end of 2023.

Opening Day 2023 was a spectacular home victory against the Yankees. Sasaki pitched 7 innings to Gerrit Cole's 6.1. The Orioles scored first in the 6th with a Mancini home run off Cole over the deep LF wall, answered in the top of the 7th by two Yankees runs driven in by Adam Engel and Jose Trevino. The Orioles would take the lead for good in the bottom of the 7th with a three-run blast to dead center by Rutschman, off Loaisiga who had just come in to relieve Cole. The score would stand at 4-2 with Dillon Tate pitching a clean inning in the 8th and Bautista picking up his first save of the year by striking out the side in the ninth.

It looks to be a great year, Orioles fans are concerned that the FO didn't do enough to upgrade the team considering their rotation is still ranked 21st in the league and they're projected 17th in contact and 20th in power, but the team has said it's all part of their larger plan to build a perpetually contending franchise in the tough AL East.

Since it's the World Series, thought I'd check in with you all. How are your franchises going? I'm still in year 1, just made it to the ALCS.

I've started to crunch the numbers for MLB 23 and seeing what could be improved. I'm working on incorporating Statcast's arm strength data into the calculations and liking the results. It's going to take position into account like the current system, but will be much more accurate.

I'm also tweaking power and contact ratings. I've liked them, but sometimes, I don't get the results I want. Jose Ramirez was a player who inspired me to tweak the speed calculations a couple of years ago because he kind of broke it, and now he's making me adjust the power scale too. He gets a ton of XBH, which skews his ratings, causing him to sim and play like a 40+ home run guy, when he's really more of a 25-30 home run guy.

I started to tweak contact at the beginning of the year and used strikeout percentage as a band-aid. This was fine, but not quite what I wanted. Yes, you get Arraez hitting as he should, but you also get Anthony Rizzo hittiing .300+.

I'm liking what I'm seeing and already hard at work.

Had a test sim last night with Judge hitting 63 home runs with around a .300-.310 batting average, using the new ratings I have for him.

Are you simming over a test franchise to see what he's doing over a 2 month period or entire season?
