Re: 2024 Franchise Fidelity to Reality Roster Project (Official Thread)
Man am I excited to use these. So many Phillies prospects were missing and the rosters that had them were so incomplete.
Do you guys play every game of franchise or what? I usually do every 5th game so I get to use all my starters and progress through multiple seasons. I would play all if they rough back Y2Y saves.Love is the most important thing in the world, but baseball is pretty good, too.Comment

Re: 2024 Franchise Fidelity to Reality Roster Project (Official Thread)
This is my first time using a roster like this and am very excited to start my franchise this weekend.
Just to clarify, will this roster have injuries? If not, it shouldnt be an issue to add those in myself?
Also I had seen that there was recomendations to adjust drafted players, is that still accurate? And does that require that I go through each teams draft selections each season and adjust that?
Last thing, is adjusting the drafted players the only thing that we have to manually change?Comment

So as far as I know you cannot start a franchise with injuries with a custom roster. You have to use the live roster to do so. So yes, you’ll need to manually injure guys in your franchise save.
We still recommend docking all incoming draftees to keep the sim stats and league economy right.
Here the process:
First day of the offseason you can see guys on 1 year deals and are younger than 24. Edit those guys.
Breakdown:
Avg. potential: 73 (equivalent of a replacement player)
90+: 2%
80-89: 22%
70-79: 45%
<70: 32%
Cap player OVR’s by age:
18: 60
19: 62
20: 64
21: 66
22: 68
23+: 70
I would also suggest knocking down every hitter’s vision by 20 points to match up with the rest of the roster
Stamina for pitchers could use adjusting as well. Drop SPs by 5 and RPs by 10
Adjusting drafted guys is the only thing you’ll need to change.

What does this mean? So for example if I draft a guy that is 65 overall 19 years old and 95 potential at lets say 1st base. By your calculations, how should I lower his potental?Comment

No facescans but SGR (jcblayze on OS) did our CAPS.
I think his look better than the repurposed WBC scans personally.

Is there somewhere where you go into details on the potential re-ratings? I don't know what you mean regarding the percentages?

Lol sorry I cut off an important part of
The percentages are what % each draft class roughly comes out to when you use our system. You can ignore those.
The important part is you should Cap OVR’s based on age and knock potential -4 for every player.
So if you drafted a 19 year old that’s 67 OVR and 99 POT
He would now be a 62 OVR 96 POT.
This year I’m going to use a random number generator to determine if a young star gets to keep their higher OVR which will allow for those Acuna and Soto types to blossom.

So I let the AI trade freely, but if I see anything wild I’ll reverse it. (I swear the royals trade Bobby Witt Jr. in year one all the time)
But once I get to the All Star Break I note down which teams are on the line for contention and which ones would likely start selling IRL. Then I go through and see what contending teams need and start playing matchmaker from there using my Trade Calculator.
