It is opening day, but the 40 man rosters may look different (in terms of who is on and who is not).

Players out for the year are in A and not on the 40 man. Players who were on the IL are in AAA and not on the 40 man.

Certain prospects are also not on the 40 man because if they were, the CPU would put them in the majors when they shouldn't be.

Some spot starters aren't on the 40 man as well to prevent the CPU from putting extra starter in the bullpen as long relievers, which helps bullpen IP distribution.

I also added a few players in A to the 40 man to ensure the correct players stayed at the MLB level in the right places, whether that be in the rotation/bullpen or lineup.

Thanks for that. That makes a lot of sense so I appreciate the clarification.

Since you can manually add injuries in franchise mode. I think I’m going to just add these guys back onto the 40 man and hope it shakes out correctly when I IL them.

Love the roster’s attention to detail. My only question is how should I go about attribute increases to adjust to change in performance/low overall guys who have been called up to the show (Andrew Suarez on BAL for example he’s a 55 and would never be called up)? Are there attributes I should avoid like PVis/Clutch? Yelich is on a homer tear but has no power in this set so I’ll be updating that and other brewers to insure they play well in franchise

Can I just asked how pitchers repertoire is done? I'm seeing discrepancies with some blue jays pitchers? Bassitt throws sinker as main pitch but you have 2 seam fb. Manoah throws a slider most but you have slurve. Do these just represent real life better

Same. I was so excited to start my franchise last night, first time user of these rosters. Great work!

But yeah, I’m somehow not grasping how to use the spreadsheet for generating the ratings. Am I gathering correctly?:

            - you get through the draft

            - add every prospect into the spreadsheet

            - generate ratings for every prospect on the sheet (which, I’m still not entirely clear on how the ratings get generated - admittedly I haven’t messed with it very much yet, I’m sure I’m missing something.)

            - when the next season starts, edit the prospects on each team’s roster

Again, great work! I’m so excited to get this franchise rolling!

-Bassit was given a 2-Seamer instead of a sinker becaue his groundball rate is below league average
-If pitchers throw sweepers OR sliders that have a ton of horizontal break, slurves are used to better represent the pitch

What you can do is either take note of key drafted players after the draft in the screeen where the game reveal their true potentials, or you can wait until day 1 of the offseason and look for the guys with 1/1 contracts

I'm going to go through the draft and decide if we need to use the ratings generator again. I'm hoping we don't because it's more work, but I'll report back when I get that far.

                    Excellent work!!!!
I would switch between them because the stamina sliders and manager hook affect the stat output and results you'll get in simulated games

So honestly just now diving into this forum and seeing these rosters. I am interested to see the difference with this roster and franchise fidelity. I am sure everyone has their truthers but can someone tell me how they compare to each other?

Just to be clear, I play every game, every pitch. You're suggesting that, after I play my game, change to the SIM slider set, then sim the cpu games? Just making sure I'm crystal clear in understanding. Thanks again.

                          Yes - either:
                          a. Load sim set, sim all games before yours, then load gameplay set and play your game

                          or

                          b. Load gameplay set, play your game, then load simulation set when you advance day.

I'm sure Cy doesn't want to turn this thread into a comparison with FTF. So I will simply say that both rosters are excellent. I have been using Cy's rosters for years now and IMO have been the best.

It really comes down to user preference. Cy's rosters I think are closer to what you see today in MLB and MILB and I think FTF roster is a little more focused on young prospects. There are some major differences in ratings as well.

You can't go wrong with either but I prefer Cy.

For Yelich, you can just bump his power attributes by 10 or so. Just depends on how bullish you want to go. It's so early in the season.
