About to stream our July 31st trade deadline game. The Tigers have made one final deal:

MR Joakim Soria has been traded to the St. Louis Cardinals for minor league MRs Sam Tuivailala and Dixon Llorens.

The Cardinals are 2.5 games back from the division leading Chicago Cubs and currently hold down the second wildcard position in the NL. Soria will be the teams 2nd best MR behind Jordan Walden.

The Tigers are expected to find a MLB roster spots for at least one of the recently acquired Cardinals, if not both.

Re: Graduated Sliders: MLB The Show '15

Happy trade deadline day! As we enter into August, I've made two slight adjustments to user hitting:

      Human Foul Frequency - 2 (+1)
      Human Solid Hits - 3 (-1)

I'm hoping this limits AI offense a bit as we've been on a tear, and could potentially decease GIDP.

I will be using these changes in my next game.

Streaming first game with the most recent slider adjustments now. This is my Saturday game, and I'll probably play the Sunday game tomorrow on the Tiger's off day.

Tigers have crawled back to .500 with a nice little 4 game winning streak. Funny, how the game I made the adjustments for user hitting to be more difficult, we get into a slugfest with the Orioles.

          Streaming Sunday's game shortly.

It's a testament to this game's engine that with the exact same slider settings, I can have a complete slugfest of a game, followed by a 4-run, 2 hit shutout victory.

Streaming Tuesday's game against the rival Royals momentarily!

                Mike,

I believe you're using directional/timing hitting like I do. Do you mainly do "Normal" swings with the (X) button or do you mix in the "Power" ([]) and/or "Contact" (O) buttons as well?

I just seem to have an awful time of hitting homeruns (haven't hit one in the last 6 games, even with power upped to 7 as you did previously), as most of the deep flyballs drop on the warning track if they even get that far. As I've said, I'm playing with the Braves, so power ratings for the team aren't very good and I'm ok with not hitting many homeruns, but you would think I would at least be able to leave the yard occasionally.

Basically, I'm just trying to figure out if my lack of homeruns is ratings-based or if my playing style is different from yours.

You switched from zone hitting to directional. Any reason ?

I'd say I'm about 90% of the time normal, swing at 10% contact. I use contact if the odds are against me with a contact type hitter, not much power, versus a strikeout style pitcher.

Power swing, I just find I hit into outs.

What's helped most with homeruns for me, is really focus on pulling the ball. Look for fastballs in, and if you get it, hammer it. It takes a lot of practice to recognize offspeed and to adjust.

I didn't feel zone represented the individual players as well as directional. Some guys just get better contact on the ball, and I wanted that to be represented. With directional, you still have to aim left, right, middle. The AI handles up and down.

Ive seen some of your other posts about GIDP being high.....

Might I suggest, lowereing Fielder reaction? @ 7 it seems you are asking for anything hit in the infield to be an out. Ive found that 4 is a sweet spot if you havent tried it. Ive used Armors (who had Field speed 0 and React 2) and I was seeing to many base hits and doubles. I raised it to 2 and 4, and I notice in my games, Im seeing an avg of 1 or 2 GIDP's a game (total per game) and occasionally 3, but never seen more then 1 or 2 mostly. Just offering you my opinion. I hope you arent offended. Ive watched some of your twitch games and really enjoy them. Thanks btw for streaming them.

What's up fellas.. My damn franchise got deleted by accident so I wanted to start a new one.. I was playing HOF with default sliders but getting creamed most if the time so I wanted a slider set. I just punched these in and tried a test game and ill give you my results..
Miami at Atlanta Day Game, Shelby Miller gets the start at home for the Braves vs Miami's Brad Hand. The game goes shut out ball for both teams until the 8th inning where Miller gives up 2 runs and leaves the game then. Bullpen gives up 2 more in the 9th and lose(me) 4-0.

Final Box Score is Miami 4 runs on 6 hits and 0 errors and Atlanta(Me) gets 0 runs on 2 hits with 1 error.

NOTES: Pitching felt good, I only struck out 4 batters but accuracy was good, I only walked 1 Batter. Batting was not good.. Every hit for both teams was weak. No hard liners, No HomeRuns or any that were close. In the 8th they scored on a walk, steal and base hit. Then a Sac Fly. I like the bloopers but the ball off the bat felt weak. Overall it was a fun game and I'd like to try them again and get a good sample size to really review. Thanks for your hard work.

Thanks for the suggestion. They are always welcomed!

I'm not sure the issue is with the fielding reaction. I'm seeing plenty of hits, and probably a tad too many balls getting down the baselines. I honestly feel the issue is beyond fixable with just sliders. Perhaps raising the baserunning speed would help, but I don't want to see any extra bases being taken as as it is now, I'm seeing 2B, 3B, and even the rare ITP HR. Of course, still seeing a few outfield assists, which is awesome.

Your GIDP numbers are about what mine are, so again, I honestly think it's just an issue of the game producing too many perfect GIDP hits, but then also mere flawless execution by the defense. Not enough of these are hit weakly enough and/or baserunners beating these out.
