Not the thread for this type of question. So please keep it to sliders and gameplay on the field.....but the off-season man. That is the only time you can re-sign as well as offer free agent deals after the 5 day exclusive period ends to offer your own players first.

Use the hand book in your game. It is in your message box and explains everything about contracts, Rule 5 draft, arbitration, exclusive rights players etc.

Thanks man. This is the only thread I look at lol. Your sliders are amazing the game plays perfect with them. I plugged them in from day one and have been having a blast. Im 45 games in to my franchise and have seen every type of game, hit , play, etc with these sliders. Got a lot a work to do to rebuild my sorry *** Braves.

Armour, are you starting your Yankee franchise over after your move back to AllStar pitching? I will be interested to know your results of the games against the Astros as I am kicking their butts. The first game was a 10-0 drubbing.

How often do you move the analog stick when swinging? Do you move it while the pitch is in the air?

Do you think pitching with the API on and listening to the catcher all of the time makes pitching THAT much easier? If so, do you think you would need to move to a higher pitching level? I beat the Astros 10-0 in game 1 and am winning 2-0 after 6 in game 2. No cpu offense whatsoever. The only difference between Armour's set up and mine is that Armour has API on default. Thanks for your input

I use the API and almost always throw the pitch and location that the catcher suggests.
I have always played this way and think it adds to the realism of the game.
Give it more than 1-1/2 games, you will allow runs trust me.
I played 2 games last night in my Reds season, game 1 I beat the Mets 7-6. Game 2 I beat the Pirates 5-2. They only had 2 runs but had 13 hits.

Thanks for the reply. I guess I get encouraged when I read other posters saying they are having trouble with pitching and the cpu is scoring lots of runs. But Houston has a pretty good lineup and they can't seem to hit a beach ball. Last year I knew I was at AllStar level and could just play the game - this year I have been struggling with knowing what level gives me the most realistic and enjoyable experience. As a result, I have been getting quite frustrated and have considered going back to 2015. I guess I will trust that I'm at the AllStar level as I have been in previous years and follow Armour's sliders as I always have as they have given me great results in the past. I'll play 10 games and see where I'm at

With Madden broken and OSFM 2.2 out, I'm finally opening up MLBTS and am starting with these sliders.

I had a great first game as LAD vs. SF, losing 2-1. Lots of fun. Man, this game looks amazing!

                      Then increase CPU hitting more.

                      And/or lower Human control/consistency.

Try CPU contact at 7 - heck go to 10 just to see what it does and if you like it. Don't have to save the game, in fact, I wouldn't (or use a copy of the franchise) and just see the effects.

I'm not sure what answer you're looking for but that's the way to get more challenge/production from the CPU - raise their sliders and/or lower your pitching ones.

Or try HoF again and reverse the process (raise your pitching and/or lower their hitting) until you get something you like.

                        Something I discussed with Josh,

I am looking at dropping Starter Stamina back to default only when I sim any games.

So when I play games I will use the value on the OP, but in simmed games around the league (as well as if I sim any of my own games) I will dial it back to default as the stats are coming out pretty spot on in regards to innings, complete games etc.

I thank JoshC1977 for doing the sim testing on this!!

So the OP has been updated.

So to summarize when simming any games make sure these values get set before you do it:

                        CPU/HUM Pitcher Stamina - 5
                        Injuries - 5

When playing games go back to the slider values on the OP.

I realize it can be a slight PITA....but if you want realistic simmed pitcher stats and injuries being realistic in both simmed games and played games (8 for games you play) it literally takes less than 30 seconds to do this.

The other option is to create another slider set you can save and call it Sim Slider Set and simply load it before you sim....then load your normal Armor/Marino set for actual played games.

                        Choice is yours.

Thanks for the advice. I get confused as to why cpu contact at 6 will work for others and strike fear in them, while I might need to raise it higher. I don't influence pitching whatsoever. I throw what the catcher tells me throw all the time. I don't get to play very often and all this testing and trial and error takes me a long time and I'm hoping to find my happy zone soon. Yes, I know it's stupid, but every time I make a slider adjustment or change in levels, I feel the need to start my franchise over. Therefore, I have played the Astros over and over and over again (I'm getting sick of them). But they have a pretty good lineup and pitching staff and I always beat them by scores like 7-1, 7-2.
, 9-1, 10-0 - not even close. Some of these scores have been on HOF pitching. I had one game that I lost to them 13-8, thanks to Betances, Miller and Chapman giving up 10 runs in the last 3 innings. I don't consider myself to be a great player (52 years old, maybe get to play a few games a week) but I'm disappointed a bit in how easy I am beating the Astros. Games are boring - I score runs early and no I'm going to win easily. I guess I need to just keep playing

I use API on the default setting which on All-Star and above just gives you the pitch.

I always choose location. If I want the catchers desired location I ask for the pitch again pulling back R2 and it will flash the location as well as give a new pitch signal.
