I am not saying that at all. But your telling me you not hitting well, 6 hits a game, not scoring runs. Maybe All-Star is not your bag right now on 16.

Try dropping to veteran and see if that makes the game play the way "you" want it to play.

Also Dynamic Difficulty is an option to maybe find your sweet spot.

I just think....it's baseball. This is what can happen. Play more games a lot more games Burgess.

Thanks again. I'm just a little frustrated as I never had issues with level or (your) sliders before. I've never had to "test" or invest so many hours of game play to determine what works for me. I wanted to just load up the game, play with your sliders on AllStar with timed hitting without any issues. Maybe I'll start my franchise over keeping your sliders on AllStar and take my lumps in the hopes that things get better. I usually only play a few ST games but maybe I will play more Hopefully I can report better results soon. I might start by increasing solid hits to default to see if that helps.

I will be streaming a Sounds Of The Show demo game using my test franchise with the New York Yankees.

It should be a fun stream showcasing SOTS and the latest slider settings.

Armor how do you go about training your players? Do you set it to auto and let it take care or itself or do you train them?

I use different settings than Armor, but I just wanted to chime in on something that he and others harp on all the time - sample size.

I'm playing a sort of test season right now and, through the first three games, I walked just once in each of them. This rings alarm bells for me because I'm used to being able to draw walks just fine in this game. But...then I walked 5 times in extra innings in game 4 (3 in the first 9 innings). And, in the game I'm playing right now, I've drawn a whopping 6 in just 5 innings (and Greinke dealt 5 of them)! All on the same exact slider and gameplay settings. Looking at the team BB rankings, that's going to catapult me from dead last all the way into the top ten. It can change that quickly.

We harp on it because it's true - there is a TON of variation from game to game in both this and real baseball. Short-term trends just don't mean much in baseball.

Hey Burgess - try out the Dynamic Difficulty. After the conversation in your "white flag" thread, I gave it a try. I've played several games today (I'm sick), and it's been fun. Apparently, I'm not as good as I thought I was. The games haven't been slugfests, but I've scored more runs. For some unknown and unrelated reason, my pitching hasn't been as good, so the games have been very competitive.

I use everything that armor has set up in his sliders/settings except I use pulse pitching snd dynamic difficulty. The gameplay with these sliders/screen clearing visual settings is just phenomenal this year. Feels so authentic

I can't believe what happened tonight. I deleted my Mets franchise and started over with the default rosters. Played my first spring training game against Strasburg

Wright - flyball caught at the warning track
Walker - walk
Cespedes - strikeout
Duda - 1st pitch fastball and a 470 foot bomb!!
Conforto - hard hit line out

Next inning Granderson pulls a double down the line. I sim the rest of the game and move to Openning Day against Ventura and KC. Scoreless after 2 innings but Granderson hit a single, and Duda had a walk. Top of the 3rd inning Asdrubal Cabrera, my 9th hitter belts a solo shot to right. This is on AllStar with Armours exact sliders. The only thing I changed was the camera I am using. I went to Custom 1 and simply zoomed in until I can just see the tip at the back of the plate. I think I can give a big exhale and finally start my franchise. I think I'm in love once again. I'm only in the top of the 3rd in my first game, and I have yet to have the cpu score a bunch of runs off me, but I'm sure that will come as well. However, the Mets have a great pitching staff so teams will likely have a tough time against me. I'll post my final score when I'm fine my game. Whew!!

WOW!! I'm up 1-0 heading in to the bottom of the 4th. Harvey gives up s lead off single and is injured. I bring in Wheeler and the 1st pitch he throws to Morales leaves the yard and I'm down 2-1. Royals score 4 more in the 5th largely thanks to Morales 2nd homer, a 3-run shot. I score 2 in the 6th and trail 6-3. Duda hits a 437-foot bomb in to the waterfall off Herrera in the 8th. On the replay you can actually hear the "sploosh" - pretty cool. I have the tying runs on base but hit in to a double play. Davis shuts me down in the 9th and I lose 6-4. Amazing!! KC ends up with 10 hits including 2 doubles and 2 homers. I end up with 9 hits including a double and 2 homers. I walk 3 times and strike out 7 times, KC walks once and K's 6 times. I am very happy with this result considering my early struggles. My faith has been restored. (armour, feel free to say "I told you so!!"). This was on AllStar with Armour's exact sliders. I can't wait for game 2. Thanks for all the advice and tips everyone. Play Ball!'

Some updates as version 2.0 is now on the OP!

I have moved human pitcher control down to 3 (from 4)

I have moved the injury slider down to 7 (from 8)

I have moved Steal Frequency back to default 5 (from 6)


I have also officially moved my pitching skill level up to HOF. The settings work great for both All-Star and HOF pitching. I am finding HOF a much better challenge this year for classic pitching. I think it is just all these years pitching on All-Star classic I finally became so proficient at it I needed to bump up my skill level to get the results and pitch counts (and walks) I want. If your feeling you are dominating far too much on All-Star pitching....I would suggest moving up to HOF this year.

Injuries in test sims were just overwhelming at 8 and look more reasonable and realistic at 7. I want injuries but not entire infirmaries for every team across the league. 7 is the sweet spot.

Steal frequency at default is actually perfect this year. Just one click up to 6, I was starting to see too much wonky decisions and far too much aggression that was not realistic. too many cheap outs for me gunning down guys who have no business stealing third!

I have decided to use the Top 150 prospect roster in the vault and began my proper Yankees franchise last night. We swept the Astros in two nail biters and one blowout where Gardner went yard 2 times (including a grand slam) and Jacoby also went yard 2 times. Sexy Texy also crushed a mammoth HR as we went on to a huge 11-2 win.

It's on!!!!
