        Re: Armor & Sword & Marino's MLB The Show 17 Timed/Classic Simulation All-Star Slider

I am having quite the time hitting. I'm 4-5 games into spring training, and most of my players are around .200 or lower.

What are everyone's thoughts on playing dynamic difficulty (while still using these sliders) until I get into the swing of things...no pun intended.

I feel I likely should make the jump to HoF pitching--but my hitting is so poor, I feel like the games that now are like 0-0, 1-0, etc. will be 0-4, 1-6, etc. Almost as if mentally, I feel I need to neuter the CPU offense so it keeps in line with my anemic offense.

Anyway, thoughts? Or just keep grinding? That's kind of why I'm playing ST games, to get used to hitting, as opposed to taking a month of 'real' baseball to work on timing.

I'm starting July and struggle at hitting. Should I bump contact up to 6?

          HOF pitching is great btw

I'd leave contact where it is and bump timing up 1. I play with timing on 6 and it's perfect for me.

This thread has me thinking about bumping up my hitting to HOF. I've become a hitting machine.

I think it has something to do with the recent patches. Hitting has tightened up as far as I can tell. Solid hits should be kept to at least 5, because I have noticed anything lower the ball doesn't jump off the bat and it even sounds weak at times when solid hits was on 4 for me. I am still toying around with bumping it to (6) at this point and dropping the power to 4 or 3. I hit 5 HR out of 9 hits in my last game on these settings with Baltimore. I can see that with B-more Power. They were hit by Kim, Schoop, Davis, Jones, and Machado in an 8-2 Win. But I really haven't hit that well at all this season. I have not had double digits hits in 10 games, the most being 9.

I agree that the CPU plays better on HOF pitching, but you have to be careful because there are times when they hit everything and even when you try to paint the corners they balls end up right down the middle. Two games ago I looked at my pitcher analysis an noticed that almost all of the CPU's hits, mostly HR by the way, were directly down the middle. I counted I believe 8-10 balls right by or in the middle box and that seems to be the trend which I am not sure why.

What is everyone else's thoughts? say Solid Hits bumping to (6) and Power down to (3) and Timing to (6) for human. and for the CPU Solid hits to (6) Power down the (3) and Timing to (4) on HOF Pitching. Human pitching on 5 control and 5 consis. for HOF pitching?

I cant agree more coach something doesnt seem right with pitches always being right down broad street. My hitting is much worse too like u said lots of weak contact so i began contimplating zone and meter but i really hate both. Hav u updated ur set or should i try deafult settings?

Completely disagree with moving solid hits up.

I have hitting exactly where I like it. The variety is fantastic.

And pitching on HOF is amazing. And the CPU hit variety is on another level.

If I want to strike out more what is the best solution for that? I assume timing but I don't want to change something and have it negatively effect other areas of the game either. My batting average isn't too bad (0.274) but my BABIP is low (0.283) and if I could strike out a little more it would even that out and look a little better. I'm striking out 5.2 times per game which is extremely low, only other option I can think of is to increase pitch speed to make it tougher to catch up with fastballs as I'm late quite often on them as it is but not late enough to miss them, more like weak outs or foul balls. Any reccomendations?

Hey armor... In 30 team control with your sliders do I need to have like hitting at all star and pitching at hof for the ai profile I setup to run the franchise?

Do you use contact swing at all? If I haven't struck out much in a game I go to normal swing even on 0-2 counts.

The Slider Set works perfectly with Quick Counts.

                              No changes are needed.

                              Enjoy.

So the sliders in the OP work for both QC and full games? That's awesome for when I'm low on time and need to get a game in. Thanks for your hard work man, I use your sliders every year.
