    Armor,

Thoughts on errors? I am not seeing much as of yet but this may just be due to a small sample size.

I can't say enough of how massive of an achievement this game is in the genre.

I don't know what's going on over in the general forum......but I am pretty stunned at how placebo'd it is getting. Perception will become reality if you keep reading and start just looking for every little minute thing wrong with a......wait.....here it comes:

      A video game.

It will become a self fulfilling prophecy if you want to convince yourself the game is broken, ruined, not right blah blah blah.

Folks, this is supposed to be joy, stress relief, whatever the reason you play video games for.

I can tell you for me, I have been a sports gamer for 37 of my 47 years of life on this planet. Never in the history of my gaming life have I ever let a sports video game cause me anger, grief, despair, stress....anything like that.

So let's talk about MLBTS 17 here. I don't even want to wade in the pool of the general forum anymore. It's just chaos, panic and utter agenda positing. Every other thread is complaints, problems and nonsense. Buried in there are your RTTS and Franchise progress threads which are filled with stories and joy of peoples franchises. Buried in there are some great threads helping and guiding people on how to experience this game to the fullest.

But it is buried in the sea of negativity and downright venom.

Yes....maybe the game is not for some people, maybe they don't like the direction the franchise is taking.

I am not one of those gamers. For me this game is one solid patch from being the pinnacle of sports gaming.

Yes there are some bugs, and issues. Just like every single solitary year. And just like every single solitary year the SDS team releases a thorough game patch 4-6 weeks after release and historically it cures 99% of the issues reported.

The game is not perfect. But boy did they go for it on the field.

This is baseball!!!!! This is the game I see being played today IRL every night when I sit back and watch a ball game with my son.

The game has changed. Pitching habits and strategy has drastically changed over the last 4-5 years. Most starters are lucky to go 7 innings in the Majors these days. Regardless of pitch count and score. There are specialists now for inning 6, 7, 8 and 9. Bombs are hit nightly. And more frequent then ever. Again The Show is replicateing how this game is played....NOW!!!

Yet....yet for those who follow me on Twtich and watch my franchises and various test games.....have you seen anything odd or wrong with full count games?

      A resounding NO!!!!!!

Is there a problem with QC and simulated games? Certainly with QC's.

I have reported a few bugs myself that I have seen in the games. But nothing has been so horrific for me that I can deem the game broken. Online....a whole other story.

But how do we know anything about a simulated games? We are not seeing the game. How do we know the pitchers pitch count, maybe he is getting banged around, maybe he got in trouble early? Maybe, maybe, maybe.

Yet when I simulated stats in a test they looked great. Every single sim I did. I had no real issues with it.

Quick Manage games do have some minor quirks and hiccups. it is a new feature and I expected some growing pains with it. But nothing that would make me outraged LOL!!!!

      Guys.

Play the game. Enjoy your franchises. Create your baseball universe, create your storylines.

HAVE FUN and relax and enjoy. Because that is all I am doing and have been since 3/28. And I am far out of the so called "honeymoon" phase and I can't get enough of this game. It is all I will be playing till The Show 18 comes out. I am skipping Madden this year (yep you heard me right taking a pass on it for sure as 17 is all I need for another year of football). NBA 2K? LOL no more for me this gen. This last one is more than enough to satisfy my B-Ball fix for several years to come.

It is The Show for me. Every year without fail. This is the sports game I can't get enough of. And why?

This community. The roster community here is second to none. Cujomatty and Lowlight are pure gentleman in providing the SOTS packs for everyone to enjoy and love. This community needs to stick together and help each other enjoy these toy's we purchase as much as we can.

My only goal here each and every year to help all of you folks enjoy this game in ways you never thought of. Simulation style sports gaming is a passion of mine and I love sharing it.

But I refuse to become part of the mob mentality that has infested the general forum and I refuse to allow it to come into this thread.

I am not here to diagnose bugs in the game. I am not here to "fix" the game with sliders.

I am here to develop sliders and use those with settings that enhance the game for myself and to share that with all of you. That is it. Simple as that. I am not here to discuss theory's on what each and every slider does (boring Zzzzzzz). I am here to simply give you the settings I use that help me enjoy this game to the max. And those of you who have used my sliders for years know what it's all about. Fun first and foremost, followed by realism and and clean screen approach to sports gaming.

Those of you who have interacted with me on Twitch know exactly what I am all about and my true personality. I tell it to you straight. It's not rocket science. It's sports video gaming.

Nothing but baseball bliss thus far and after patch 1.04 comes out we will be even happier (SOTS fix, OSD fixes and some minor gameplay tuning that will be done and fixed).

The game needs a good patch.....again like it always does each and every year. This is nothing new!!!

There are some that simply don't like how the game feels.....that's cool. Go back to 16 and be done with it. But don't continue to have an agenda because I can assure you there are hundreds of thousands of players who are enjoying the game they made this year. OS is merely 1% of the Shownation.

      1%

      O.K. My rant is over.......

      And remember.......

      BASEBALL IS BETTER
Well said I am a 39 year old man that has been playing sports game since I was little and everyday I feel like a kid again just to get home from work and play this game. It is hands down the best sports game I have ever played. I was telling my wife last night that this might be the first year I skip Madden as well lol. I played the show 17 till release day of this game and was loving it and didn't think it could get much better. But man was I wrong. Enjoy the game guys it's the best we have ever seen. 4 more hrs of work left for me than back to the show. Lol. Thanks for the sliders sir

Armor, your most recent post is spot on! Thank you for posting that! Exactly how I feel! If it wasn't for your slider thread and the OSFM thread, I'd completely stay off the forums because of all the negativity.

HA HA HA funny you mention that.

Last night. Playing the White Sox in my Yankees franchise.

Pop fly to the White Sox second baseman. Flat out dropped it. Pure routine play.

My son and I loved it. It happens!!!!

            Keep playing my man.

Errors are something I can't test until I get a rich sample size. But when I turned up OF errors to 6.....it was stupid. At default it is perfect IMO coupled with fielder speed at 3 and fielder reaction at 4.

You will no doubt get realistic errors with those two sliders at default.

Going to test more on throwing errors though. So stay tuned for some updates is needed as we progress this season.

Only thing bothering me is ball in the dirt and runners who shouldn't because of their speed ratings are advancing.

Yeah same here. Hopefully they do just a minor tweak. Because to be honest. I rather have this than the way it used to be where catchers are super human fast and get every pop, drop, passed ball, pop foul etc.

Please don't go back to that.

It is not as frequent as you would believe though. And the balls in the dirt actually roll away this year and it is highly reasonable they are passed balls and guys can take the base.

But I agree it is a wart.

But I can live with it because passed balls behind the catcher and pop fouls are far more realistic this year where last year it was automatic outs every single time and that drove me insane at times.

The only batter that I'm having any success with is Yandy (.445). I just feel I shouldn't be batting sub .100 with Lindor, Jose, and EE. Just feels like nothing is getting hit hard and everything is a weak fly ball.

However, pitching aspect of the sliders is great!
I've been playing a couple games now with this slider set with Veteran Hitting (because I admittedly suck at hitting) and All Star pitching. I'm happy with the results. I get 2-6 runs a game and around 6-10 hits.

This is a post about classic pitching, and how I have always used it until this year after reading how everyone else used it. Up until this year I had always pressed the X button to try and time it to let off of it just as the vibration started. When timed perfectly I could feel the pulse just a little bit. After reading every ones different opinions on how it worked I stared using the method of changing the release up, and only pressing long enough to get the vibration when I was wanting more movement on breaking pitches in certain situations. My team ERA dropped dramatically from previous versions of the show. I play with the Braves, and our pitching staff shouldn't be as good as the team ERA was showing. For the past week I have went back to the way I have always done it just trying to be getting off of the button just as the rumble starts, and man what a refreshing change this has made for me. My team ERA is around a 3.45 now. To me, and my twisted *** mind using this method really separates the great pitchers, from the not so great pitchers. Teheran has his good innings, and his bad innings, and bad good games and his bad as well as the rest of my pitching staff. Pithing this way with this great slider set Armor & Marino have worked so hard on "I appreciate all the work you guys do by the way" really gives me the most realistic feel than any other method I have tried. I'm pitching on all star setting by the way, and my sliders are exactly as the set posted on page 1 with the exception of fastball pitch speed backed down a click. I'm just getting to damn old for my eyes to keep up with the pitch speed. So this is just my long 2 cents on classic pitching. LOVING THIS GAME!!!! BEST SPORT TITLE TO EVER BE RELEASED!!!!! Thanks again Armor & Marino for the hard work that has made a great game greater!!!

Yeah man I play with the Braves as well. And my era is way too low for the pitchers we have on that staff. I have bumped the computer contact up to 6 but my sample size is too small to tell if it's working. I am giving up a few more runs but still dominating with my 4 and 5 starters. My strike percentage is right on point where it should be but just not giving up enough runs.

Man at the moment I'm getting shelled lol. Going back to the way I have always used the classic pitching has really helped me. I'm not getting shelled in a cheap way either. A slider meant for low and inside to a righty just spinning out over the plate is getting the punishment it deserves. That kind of thing is going on, and the lower the pitcher rating the higher the chances, and the more walks are taking place. I love it!!!

With u man. I was one of the first years ago to write extensively about classic pitching. I also use the Braves and I've got a few guys who often can't throw a strike when u simply tap x, without ever moving the ball. Lol
