Thats API, Armor has it set for default, just change that. I can't remember off the top of my head what the other options are. But thats it.

On default API you need to pull back on R2 to get the catchers location.

Yes I was just letting him know thats the option he needs to change from default to I believe On to get the pitch selection/location (catchers mitt)

I strongly believe solid hits was tuned on this last patch.

I am in the midst of testing solid hits at default for both user and cpu.

However power at 4 for the human is still my preference.

Other than that this game is playing incredible.

How is your GIDP stat looking post patch Armor? I ask because I'm hitting into them at an alarming rate much like I did on last years game. I wasn't having this extreme of an issue before but hitting feels off a bit like anything not belt high is getting beaten into the ground resulting in those GIDP issues. I ground into 2 the first game post patch and already have 2 through the first 4 innings of the second game, prior to today I had 10 GIDP in 13 games which was right in line with real life averages (0.75/game) and now clearly I'm at at least 2 per game in the small sample size of course.

Everyone......move solid hits up to 5 for both CPU and Human.

It will be an official update to the OP right now. They tuned down solid hits on this last patch...I am certain of it.

Before Armor even posted the increase to solid hits, i defaulted both human and CPU solid hits and fired up my Tampa franchise... WOW did this game play fantastic! (everything else was left the same as OP except i implement Mike Lowe's fielding errors)

Knocked out the first series with the Yankees. here were the results:

Game 1
NYY 5 - 7 - 0
TP 6 - 11 - 0

Won on a walk off homer by Longo

Game 2
NYY 6 - 8 - 0
TB 5 - 9 - 1

Odorizzi couldnt find the plate and when he did the Yanks made him pay

Game 3
NYY 2 - 5 - 0
TB 1 - 3 - 0

Polar opposite of the first 2 games as CC went 7.2 of 3 hit 1 run ball.

Armor i cannot thank you enough for these sliders. I usually play one game and walk away for the day, but these had me wanting to play more

One more update to work out some unintended kinks (ball off the bat sound cough cough) of update 1.04 and we are golden.

In the meantime....enjoy this marvelous game of baseball.

Curious. How are those errror sliders from Mike working out for you. My only issues with turning them up like that was I was seeing Rec Little League type stuff and with them at default but fielder speed at 3 and reaction at 4. I felt the errors happen more organically and are far more ratings driven than forced via sliders. And the hit variety shined like a summer sun.

Please share your thoughts. I do see errors and maybe not at the clip I want ultimately....but I rather not sacrifice MLB level glove realism for the sake of drops, bad throws and booted balls and awful awareness in the OF when you crank those up.

Bad fielders do struggle. I had Yoan Moncada flat out drop a simple infield pop fly. It was beautiful and a holy **** moment!!

Obviously its a small sample size, but i didnt see it turn into a little league game... what i did notice however were fielders rushing throws and a few that sailed high or low. i really dont think it makes a TREMENDOUS difference, but theres that little feeling of (i hope he has a good glove out there or im picking on him)

your sliders and even the mike lowe fielding sliders have made this game feel very Strat-o-Matic for me... and being a year round strat player... well thats right up my alley

Man, well I guess I'm going to have to take the plunge into HOF pitching this year. I started the season 2-2 and have since won 18 games in a row. Right now the CPU just doesn't feel as competitive as they have been in other iterations. Even my hitting numbers are better than they've ever been and I've always used your sliders as a base. Maybe it's the new physics? Maybe I'm just better? I don't know but it was getting stale. I'm sure I'll be very frustrated in a new way now lol.

I'm noticing that there should be more plays that are ruled errors and they give them a base hit. I had a pitcher hit the ball back to the pitcher...routine play and he bobbled it and the runner was safe and they gave my pitcher a hit. Sometimes a throw would pull the first basemen off the bag and they would give him a base hit.

I have seen very few errors prior to the patch and was wondering if that was an issue. I believe in the 10 games I have played I may have seen a combined total of less than 5.

I think you have gotten better, and I also think the game is different (and in a very good way) then years past.


These sliders work excellent on HOF as well. Take the plunge. And I may join you too if I keep playing the way I am with my Baby Bombers. But I actually want a full season sample size of playing every pitch, every AB.

I play this game year round....so I have all the time in the world to get that sample size between all my franchises and classic seasons.

And BTW have you gents checked out all the classic rosters dropping so far?

I would have said the same thing as the last guy. My pitching as the jays has been dominant but yesterday the angels thrashed me 7-1....
