The last two games were probably two of the most exciting back to back games I have ever had playing the show. I did not lead in either game at any point and trailed going into the bottom of the 9th in both cases and had back to back walkoff wins. Definitely a first and the Yankees are sitting at 9-4, but could be 7-6 if not for these two games.
Cardinals 9-11-0 (4-8)
Yankees 13-15-0 (8-4)
CC Sabathia was absolutely hammered in this game, 3-1 IP, 8 hits, 8 earned runs, 1 BB, 0 K. The bullpen held the Cards to one run the rest of the way and after we tied it at 9 in the bottom of the 9th, 1 out, I was swinging only for a fly ball to get the winning run home, but Aaron Judge took it over the left field wall for a walkoff slam!
HR: Yankees 2, Cardinals 2
2B: Yankees 1, Cardinals 3
BB/K: Yankees 4/3, Cardinals 5/6
White Sox 2-7-2 (1-12)
Yankees 3-11-0 (9-4)
The complete opposite of yesterdays slugfest, I only had 7 hits and 1 run through 8 and Pineda was money, leaving after 8 tied 1-1, gave up 4 hits,
the single run, walked 2 and struck out 8. They grabbed the lead in the top of the 9th, but I strung together 4 singles in the bottom of the 9th, winning it on Ellsbury's 2 RBI base hit between 3B and SS with 2 outs.
HR: none
2B: NY 2, Chicago 0
Just a couple of notes on players, Greg Bird is absolutely raking opponents pitching, leading the majors with .460 average, 5 HR (Tied for first with 8 others) and 13 RBI. The ball looks like a basketball when he bats, just weird. On the opposite side Headley is only at .152 and poor Didi Gregorious is only 1 for 28 since rejoining the team (.036).
