I’ll try to explain it better. I use 30-team control. I go through all the teams to set lineups and rotations. Then I sim all the opening day games except for my Yankee game and “save”. I wonder if the season has some sort of story line built in to my season. Maybe the Red Sox will struggle this year, maybe the Jays will over-perform and challenge for the division. Maybe the Padres will be a Cinderella story, etc. So what happens to this “story” if I decide to start a game over in the middle of the season? Does it affect just the game that I started over, or does it affect the whole season “story”. In the past I always think that once I start a game over I have ruined the whole season so I must start my franchise over as I have now changed the “story”. I also feel like I have now cheated. Sorry if I’m not making any sense

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 18 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
Yalls enthusiasm has reignited my Show fire!
Jumping back into my Yankees franchise, about to go into June 2018.
I ALWAYS have trouble being able to separate reality and my “game world”. When the rosters stray, or don’t reflect real life I lose interest and I hate it! I’m trying to “disconnect” the two and just let this game be MINE and build my team how I see fit, and not attempt to mimic real life.
The carry over save feature makes this so good as it doesn’t feel like the time investment is a waste, in that I’d just be starting over again next year.
On we go!

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 18 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
Being real gameplay on 18 is delicious.
I really need to see franchise mode upgrades to be a day one buyer. Otherwise I can wait a long while, enjoy 18 and then look to Christmas and grab 19 if it is indeed gameplay wise as good as 18 so I can transfer my franchise files.

Oh please SDS make some good upgrades to franchise mode so Armor gets 19 lol. I’m in year 2023 in my carry over save and it’s mostly because of your sliders. Just can’t stop playing it.Comment

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 18 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
I want nothing more than seeing some real nice franchise mode upgrades. But the gameplay needs to stay true to where 18 is as well.
I am so addicted to 18 I am still going to be in a wait and see for a while on 19.

Man I can't stop playing this game. Ever since I started back up over my vacation on Christmas I've once again been addicted to this game. I'm in year 2 of my Braves franchise in the middle of June. This gameplay is so amazing. I'm in huge slump and my 12 game lead has dropped to 7 as I have lost 7 out of 10. But I feel things are turning back around.

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 18 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
I just finished up the last game of the regular season in my 18 Yankees franchise.
Played 99% of innings using these sliders for every one of them.
Instead of typing out a long post with all my final stats, I took a screen recording going through the main stats from the franchise. I'll put the link to the YouTube video on here when it's finished uploading!Comment

Here it is. I'm pretty challenged when it comes to youtube so I don't know how to change the thumbnail or anything lol...
Finished the season at 108-54.
Some notes:
-Stanton wins MVP and Hank Aaron Award. Gleyber Torres wins ROY. Sanchez (somehow) and Stanton (somehow) win Gold Gloves. Sanchez, Stanton, Judge win Silver Sluggers.
-Greg Bird was, obviously, injured most of the year. Tanaka missed a good amount of time with an injury. Thankfully, no other injuries to main guys besides missing a day or two.
Trades: I had a mix of real life moves and made some of my own as well.
-Betances to Baltimore for Britton around the deadline. He had an ERA above 6 but I admittedly took advantage of the flawed trade algorithm which heavily weights potential and overall rather than stats to get Britton for him.
-I was also able to get Voit for Shreve as in real life. I believe it was a straight swap but don't remember exactly so could be wrong.
-Sent Adam Warren to San Diego and that's how I got Yates. Don't remember who else was in that trade either.
-Swapped Tyler Austin (somehow has A potential) for Lance Lynn (MIN). Lynn was average down the stretch and will be on the playoff roster for depth.
-Earlier in the year, I traded Drury to Toronto for Dalton Pompey, and then in August I flipped Dalton Pompey for Mark Leiter from PHL who actually was amazing and will be on the playoff roster while I will leave Chad Green off.
-Greg Bird will be ready to come off the DL the day after the final game of the regular season, so he will be on the playoff roster rather than Luke Voit, who couldn't mimic his real life self for me in August and September.
I know the offensive stats - especially power numbers - are pretty high, but I figured if everyone is healthy enough all year and performs towards the top of their potential, these stats don't seem as unrealistic.
Let me know your thoughts and opinions about my season! Playoffs next...Last edited by MoneyMan17; 01-13-2019, 02:45 PM.Comment

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 18 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
So for those who know how season 4 of my Astros franchise has started you’ll know Altuve has been ice cold. Well he may have just broke out of it in the game I’m playing now against the White Sox. He’s 4 for 4 and has hit for the cycle (first time I’ve done that too) after hitting a HR in his 4th AB.
I’m up 11-3 in the 6th so who knows what his stats could end up like in this game.

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 18 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
Not looking good as I'm down 3 games to 1 against Cleveland in the ALCS. Beat Toronto 3-1 in the ALDS but it was certainly a struggle. Game 1 was probably the "ugliest win" of the entire season and won game 2 by one run and after losing game 3 and falling behind in game 4, I was able to mount a late comeback against Toronto's bullpen and get out of the ALDS alive. Stanton did not get a hit in the ALDS, and Judge is hitless through 4 games in the ALCS.
A lot of things not looking pretty for this team. Offense has scored two runs in each of the 4 games of this series and if it wasn't for Sonny Gray (LOL) throwing a Game 2 gem where we won 2-1, we would have just gotten swept.
Aside from the offense being essentially non existent, the pitching has been absolutely awful as well. Lost Game 4 10-2. Bullpen has been bad. Starters have been bad.
It really is crazy how in the playoffs it can feel like a totally different team and feel like you're playing a different game altogether. I just have no feel for it and I can't tell if it's user error, or most of the team choking at once, or some combo. That's just baseball I guess.
Unfortunately, already thinking about offseason moves....Comment

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 18 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
In Game 5 I was down 1-0, tied it, went up 2-1, they tied it, and they scratched across a third run in the bottom 8th.
Top 9th, down 3-2, Andrew Miller in the game for Cleveland. I really thought my season was over. Stanton leads off with a walk, Bird pops out, and the ROY Gleyber Torres rips a game tying triple into the left center field gap. Gregorius strikes out and Andujar grounds out, leaving Torres stranded.
Tommy Kahnle 1-2-3 bottom 9th... Top 10th, Gardner leads off with a walk, and Aaron Hicks follows that with a two run blast to right field. Im up 5-3, cant get any more runs but Chapman comes in and shuts them down to save our season and send us back to New York.
I was finally able to break through and score more than 2 for the first time in the series. I know its late, and still not looking good, but so happy to at least take it back to Yankee Stadium and make them beat us there.Comment
