I think 66 would be an MLB record by quite a bit. Isn't the record still 58 by a few different teams? Or did that change last year and I somehow missed it? I know some team was close.

Also 18 is a heck of a lot for one player, though I guess not impossible. Especially if you're Sammy Sosa (20). I don't even think Ruth ever did that. Although another player hit 18 in one month in 30's or 40's I think.

Did version 1.08 patch in PED testing yet?

Kidding. If anyone can do it, its Stanton. But it is a lot.

It is an insane month. I fully expect a reversion to the mean by seasons end to a degree.

But it is a video game and I have no clue if this particular player is too good for HOF level or he just had a ridiculous month.

I hit 13 dingers with Bird in April and 10 with Stanton btw.

So the bats were on fire in Game 1 at Tropicana field. A 7 run 4th inning (Reddick Grand Slam the big hit) followed by a 4 run 5th carried the Astros to a 14-1 rout over the Rays. Keuchel threw 8 shutout innings and was just as good as the offense.

Without wanting to start a debate on the merits or otherwise of Quick Counts (for me it’s a lifestyle choice). Just wanted to let anyone that is interested know that these exact Sliders are playing great with Quick Counts. Thanks Armor (and crew) for your work year after year!

Yep whenever I've used quick counts before I've never had to change any slider set for them. They're usually fine with any set.

Agreed, these sliders are fantastic with quick counts. The only problem I have with quick counts is how the stat overlays only count the in-game pitches when showing pitch counts, but it’s not a huge deal. I’m loving this game and these sliders only make it better!

Streaming another game, this time a nationally televised game in Philly where my 10-11 Pirates will take on the 9-12 Phillies. I'm playing on no sleep, so I'm hoping my plate discipline doesn't abandon me in this one.

Yankees take game 3 of a 4 game set vs The Astros.

Judge hit’s three bombs!!! 2 of them came on 3-0 counts with normal swings LS at 11 o’clock.

                        Was a thing of beauty.

Sonny Gray went 6 innings yielding 5 runs.

                        10-5 final.

Later today I should be posting our big Yankees Year 2 April month end report.

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 18 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders

Thanks for the great sliders as always. I do have a question about something that I could change in order to tone down how well my team has been doing, however. I have had a great variety of games and feel like this has been the most enjoyable season I’ve played in past years. For example, I have had games where I won 1-0, games I won 4-3, and a game where I actually lost 20-0 against the Astros powerful lineup (oh what a game that was...).

My issue however is overall rankings. On games where I have a good time hitting, I’m hitting TOO good. Here are my hitting rankings at the end of April:

                          AVG: 3rd with .285 (leader has .292)
                          AB: 1st with 1059 (next has 993)
                          Runs: 3rd with 146 (leader has 157)
                          Hits: 1st with 302 (next has 284)
                          Doubles: 1st with 61 (next has 59)
                          Triples: 3rd with 10 (leader has 14)
                          HR: 2nd with 42 (leader has 46)
                          RBI: 3rd with 144 (leader has 157)
                          Strikeouts: 1st with 123 (next has 170)

My biggest concerns are AVG, hits, doubles, HR, and strikeouts. Being the Chicago White Sox, I shouldn’t be close to those numbers. I am 17-12 at the end of April, which is really not concerning numbers to me at all as I’m riding a 7 game winning streak straight after having a 5 game losing streak. I just need to figure out how to even out the numbers a bit.

I play on All-Star for both hitting and pitching. Would it benefit me more by toning down maybe Contact and Power, or even Solid Hits more? Or should I make the jump to HoF for the first time in my MLB The Show career?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

It’s a scary jump, but I think I’m ready. Going to make the jump in both hitting and pitching for the whole month of May and see where it takes me.
