Update: its the second inning and I’m winning 7-0 with 7 hits and 2HR. One a grand slam by freeman. That’s so weird. I know it’s only an inning and a half but this is after I put BR back to default.

I can't wait to get home and Try this or see if I have had the BR steal ability at 5 or not.
Because I cannot hit crap and I have Fastball at 6 speed and Off speed at 7 and I still can't hit a freaking ball hopefully this helps .... 🤔😦☹️😲
I mean I'm getting only max 4-5 hits per game haven't hit only but 1 Homer and if I do hit the ball good and hard it's a line drive or a grounder

Seems like everyone has jumped to HOF this year. I tried it for 6 or 7 games and I just don't like the feel of it. I'm looking forward to giving these a try.

Without going through the whole thread, how are walks looking with CPU control at 6? As well as strikeouts? I feel like in years past on AS i wasn't striking out enough.

      Thanks. Go Reds!

All Star is a bit different animal than past years, it's definitely more challenging (similar IMO to HOF from past years with this setup). With pitch control at 6, the CPU paints the corners much better, so you have to really wait for your pitch to drive (and many times, you just don't get one in an AB).

How does that translate to walks and Ks, it depends on the player. Are you willing to take a strike, or you able to hold-off swinging at that borderline pitch? The cat-and-mouse game is alive and well. You'll dictate how it plays out.

That said, I have games where I can milk 5 or 6 walks, I have others where I don't. I have games where I make a lot of contact, I have games where I don't. There's a nice balance and after nearly 50 games in my current franchise, I can definitively say that I have seen a little bit of everything with this game.

As far as stats...no idea....I don't get caught up in them much at all - I just know I am having fun games and have been challenged (I'm 20-26 so far - and that's a vast improvement over the last dozen games or so).

This is more for a friendly debate or discussion.

But we think there is a good chance that Stealing ability and Frequency has something to do with solid hits and hit variety. But do you think other sliders could do that too?

Like you would think Fielder Speed lowered would increase hits and doubles. But do you think that slider could affect power of the ball off the bat? It would compensate the slower fielder speed.

I know Josh has it had 4 so it doesn’t matter with these sliders but there are other sliders that have Fielder Speed down to 2.

That very well could be. But there’s really no way we’d ever know for sure. Kinda like the madden debate of pass coverage and pass reaction slider being reversed.

Unless you tracked the hit speed between the two. But that might not be accurate either. Cause a 100 mph fastball “looks” faster on pitch speed 10 than it does on 5.

It's not an unreasonable hypothesis and this is the sort of reason why I rarely stray away from default and when I do, I rigorously test it out. I'm not saying that going to extremes 'breaks' the game or anything, plenty of people make it work for them. But to me, it's just not worth the hassle and frustration or constantly trying to balance and re-balance.

I agree. And I’m not suggesting to try it. I was just wondering if it could be possible.

I finally had to bump up to HOF with the Yankees. I wasn’t scared of any hitters. But I’m in the stretch where I’m playing the Orioles and Rays in 12 games so that could be a reason. The Rays are 25-18 tied for 2nd with the Yankees but they are one of the worse hitting teams in the league. According to Heidi lol.

Gonna give your set a go. I've been user Armor's and I think I'm driving the folks in his forum nuts with my posts about how I struggle hitting. I don't go clean screen and I still can't hit. I went down to All-star on his set and I'd swear it got worse.

Question: I pitch very well on HOF with Armor's set with the exception of pitch counts. My starters are ALWAYS gassed by the 5th inning due to the amount of pitches I'm throwing per inning. I pretty much always follow the catcher suggestion. Any tips to get a quick inning here and there.

I still stick with my suggestion of you going default, dynamic difficulty for a BARE MINIMUM of 60 games. You'll never get out of your rut otherwise. I suggested this to another newcomer in the main forum today; I just honestly believe when learning the game, you're best off starting with the basics (most of us use sliders to make the game harder, not easier, which is not what you need). Otherwise, you will just keep scuffling with sliders. I went through this myself last year...I was going back and forth with sliders for a month and was utterly frustrated. I played default for 6 months (and probably close to 450-500 hours of gameplay) before I started messing with sliders again. Changing things every game or two is just going to make it worse. Good luck!

One thing I noticed with pitching on Allstar is the cpu batters don’t foul off every good pitch out of the zone. They still hit foul balls. With these sliders I can blow a fastball by a hitter for a swing and miss. On HOF once they get to 2 strikes I couldn’t get them to miss.

Yeah I'm gonna play a few with your set then do the dynamic difficulty thing if nothing changes. I had no trouble last time I played on 13 and the years before that. I'm gonna older now and my eyesight is probably worse so I'm sure that's a factor. I really appreciate your suggestions. I've played well over 100 games total and hitting only felt right for a stretch of maybe 10 games prior to a patch. That was probably just coincidence.

Yeah that's basically what I was seeing. I was just scared to tinker because I was pitching great other wise on HOF. 3rd best ERA, but zero complete games due to the high pitch counts.

You also might have just been in a slump on Allstar last time and then when you moved up to HOF you got s couple of good games and then went in a worse slump since you were playing on HOF.

I’m on the opposite end of where you are at. It might just be the Yankees and being on a hot streak but my batting average is really high so I moved up to HOF.

I have only had 1 complete game with the Yankees in my 40 games. I only press X and follow the catcher’s suggestion all the time. With stamina at 6 my pitchers that have a 75 rating on stamina will get yellow when they get to about 75 pitches. My pitchers that are 85 can get to about 85-90 before they hit yellow.
