Re: Mike Lowe MLB The Show 20 Sliders
Ok, I don't know what my deal is. Maybe I just suck at hitting, well at least hitting for any power. I'm playing as the Brewers, I've been playing franchise and I'm 28 games in. My team batting avg is .294, which isn't terrible and is somewhat realistic. My issue is I've hit a grand total of 9 homers in 28 games.
I see people saying this game has too many homers, but I'm struggling to get 1 every 3 or 4 games. After 28 games I'm 12-16 and the 12 games I've won have been nail biters in which I won by 1 or 2 runs I had to really fight to get. So the games have been fun, but it's frustrating that I never see a ball fly out of the stadium.
Pitching took some getting used to because I enjoy the control a meter gives me, but I've come to really like the classic style now and it adds a little bit of unknown to the pitch.
Can I get any suggestions how to adjust the sliders so batting will remain similar, but get a power increase?
**EDIT*** I forgot to add, I use X pretty much exclusively for hitting. If this isn't correct, let me know.Last edited by Frost33; 03-30-2020, 10:30 AM.Comment

Re: Mike Lowe MLB The Show 20 Sliders
1) Too easy to make contact. This is by far the biggest issue out of the box, but I get it too--14 year olds don't want 7 pitch ABs where they are swinging and missing. You see this in the way SDS built DD.
2) Everyone is just too damn fast, whether it's fielders, baserunners, etc. Speed impacts a lot of things in video games.
3) Then we get into the finer issues, such as "WHY are we making too much contact, and how do we fix that?" "Why aren't there any injuries?" "Which hitting view helps produce the output we're looking for?" etc.
That all adds up over time; I definitely didn't wake up one day and do it all in one day. The community feedback has helped tremendously as well, and none of this would be possible (or worth the hassle) if the game wasn't already pretty darn solid out of the box.@MikeLowe47 | YouTube | Discord

1) You have user power at 3 (v1.0, pre-patch)
2) You played most of your games before last week's patch.
Put user power to 4. You might even consider putting it at 5 and take a few games to just mash some HRs to get caught up a bit. You should be pretty close to 30 HRs by now, probably anywhere between 20-30.@MikeLowe47 | YouTube | Discord

Re: Mike Lowe MLB The Show 20 Sliders
Working on 15 game stat report for op with March 29 adjustments ._.Will post as soon as I can...Using classic pitching and directional hitting (always have). Game play is greatComment

Re: Mike Lowe MLB The Show 20 Sliders
Using adjustments, still playing well. I think the CPU may need a boost on Power, definitely left a few out over the plate that should have went out. Great sliders as always, I'll post some stats once I get a few more games in.
Using QC, everything else set as you have it.Comment

Re: Mike Lowe MLB The Show 20 Sliders
First post updated for v1.1. I'll wait on a potential v1.5 before uploading anything to the Vault.
The only issue I'm trying to work on at the moment is more user Ks when batting. I'm swinging and missing at a good rate as well as foul balls, but still too low on Ks. A bit early still, but I'm even considering tweaking Legend hitting because of the shrunken PCI which will definitely give us more Ks.@MikeLowe47 | YouTube | Discord

Play on max pitch speeds, which is as close to realistic as you can get and I promise you will strike out more often.YouTube: MLB The Show 21 Atlanta Braves FranchiseComment

Re: Mike Lowe MLB The Show 20 Sliders
I'm using your modifications to sliders that was posted yesterday. I started using meter pitching instead of classic. I got to say using meter you hit your spots better.
It seems to me the opposing team needs a little more offense. I played 3 games last night with the Brewers. Their average was .212. My average was .250. I think Yelich had 2 homers in the series. I had like 5 homers. I will have to confirm those homerun stats tonight. I use directional hitting by the way.
I will play some more tonight. I think your getting close. The only other thing is there was a lot of doubles hit by me. I don't have the totals. I will try to post tonight.

Re: Mike Lowe MLB The Show 20 Sliders
Mike I have been reading this thread.
From a Cpu Cpu standpoint, first issue SPEED: I like visually what I’m seeing at fielding I’m currently using
Speed 4 reaction 3...I may jump it to 4 -4 as suggested. I’m not seeing as many close plays at bases with runners..aggression is good however...I’m also not seeing any of the elite outfielders getting back to the wall and making plays. This may get these flyhawks moving in the outfield.
SOLID HITS: I see you moved it up one (2) ...Feel I’ll follow that may help with said probable issues above.
Been seeing a lot of weak choppers fielded by catchers and pitcher , which I like but may be too many.
I’m four games in with my Franhcise...I’ve had top level pitchers with some 10 k games and I’ve had a couple of em hammered and drummed out early before the 4th inning so I’m not touching your sliders in any of those
Pitching slots...
POWER: MLB stats last year top power teams Minnesota and Yankees averaged 1.88 a game ...
Power slider at 4 has worked for me ..I haven’t seen a anything far Fetched in that area but again only a four game sample..
Love the game this year..yes there are issues , but also many subtleties in animation and sound that are a joy.
Now if they could only get rid of the ridiculous “slide step” animation and put in a few more animations when a batter gets a 97 mph fastball inches from him hitting him....more subtleties please.Comment

Re: Mike Lowe MLB The Show 20 Sliders
Mike,
I have a stat question. They say you want about 40-45% of runs scored via home run. I keep track of all my stats on an excel sheet and I keep track of all the scoring. But do they count each run scored or each scoring play? For example, if I hit a grand slam, do I count that has 4 for the runs scored or just 1?Follow me on Twitch
