The bullpen ERA is pretty easily manipulated by lowering RP stamina and manager hook. The overall ERA/batting avg, HR's were in line with 2019 team totals (real life) for halfway point.
This is the first thing I test every year--pitcher stamina. For the past few years I had RP stamina at 0, but this year it's different. It works best at 5, but you're obviously welcome to adjust however you feel is best for your franchise.

Here's something you can try if you feel either user or CPU is getting too low of BABIP (offense overall, for the most part) without impacting much of anything else. User timing will help with swing and miss too.

      User: +1 timing to 5
CPU: Solid Hits +1 to 4

      I'm also going to try:

      Baserunner Speed: +1 to 5

Baserunning speed at 1? ....are you keeping Fielders speed and reaction the same?

Hey mike I’ve been thinking about starting a new franchise with Tigers, I think the Cubs my favorite team are kinda boring really to use! Like a challenge and Detroit seems to have prospects and future potential

The best choice I made was to use these sliders.. when I first started playing the game I was playing home run Darby games everywhere, since installing these sliders I feel like I am playing real baseball with a variety of games not know what is coming next it's awesome!

                    highly recommend them

I went through a rut where I couldn’t hit a lick. And then today I hit 4 HR’s and 2 2B’s on 11 total hits with the Yankees. Love the variety!

With this slider set, is everyone seeing enough errors from the CPU? I skipped 18 and 19, so I cant speak for those yrs, but one of the things that always bothered me is there was never enough errors by the CPU, nor did teams commit enough total errors in Franchise mode. Thanks

I have had the same thing with my sliders, gone through those 3 game stretches where my hitting disappeared to the point I considered increasing HUM hitting sliders.....then I go through stretches where my offense explodes to the point I start questioning if I should lower the sliders. Same thing with the CPU hitting, some nights its like they can't hit and others it's like they have corked bats. Like you said - the variety is outstanding

Mike and I have both been making sliders for this game for a long time and I know he does great work. Most years, our sliders end up very similar to each other in many ways and I always keep an eye on his thread....it's helpful to use as a reference and see what he is thinking and if he has a certain idea on something that I might be missing or not seeing the same way

That being said....good job Mike, lot of respect for your work

I'm currently in game #24 of my franchise and I post recaps and box scores for every game and I'll be posting a comprehensive update with stats, standings, league leaders, etc. when I hit the 40 game mark.....if anyone wants to take a look for comparison sake.

Has anyone noticed that sometimes the CPU will throw the same starter on back to back games? I love the game, but SDS has to clean up the roster logic, trade logic, and bullpen usage.

Agreed. The two biggest franchise needs for this series are:

                              1) Roster management, especially bullpen. This includes the adundance of hit-and-runs the AI uses. It seems SDS programmed their strategy to resemble a high-level high school game, and haven't gone back to it for quite some time. Hit and runs? We should see the AI sign FAs during the season and call up players based on performance, not just injury. Etc. etc.

                              2) Player profile depth. Players should, in some rarer occasions, be able to learn new positions and be moved to less impactful positions when they are aging. The AI teams should do this as well. We should see lefty/righty splits for pitchers. We should see defensive metrics. Etc. etc.

100%. They don't really have to add much to the franchise mode as far as features go. They just have to update and clean up a lot of the logic underpinning the game. Hit and runs... Lol. My favorite is how often the AI lays down a bunt in RTTS. I play third, and guys like Manny Machado are dropping bunts.
