Re: Armor & Swords MLB The Show 20 Classic/Directional Clean Screen Simulation Slider
When you have to leave a game before finishing it do you save or do the automatic shut-off feature? It seems when I save the game it is almost like a Dr Jekyll, Mr Hyde turnaround. I was winning a game 4-1 after 7 innings and had to leave for a few hours so I saved it. I had only given up 2 hits at the time. When I started playing in the 8th the first 5 batters got hits and scored and I ended up losing 7-5
But I also just let the power shut off a few games earlier. This time I was losing 5-3, when I had to quit for the night. When I turned the game on in the morning, a patch started downloading and the game was gone. Had to replay the game
What do you guys do? Just trying to determine the lesser of 2 evils. Thanks

Armor, have you considered moving power to 4 for both human and CPU? Nearing the All-Star break I'm greatly considering moving both contact and power to 4 for both human and CPU (as some have suggested on here). I know your OP mentions doing this but wanted to get your thoughts on whether or not you've made or will make that move.
While I'm having fun, every game seems to be 5-6+ runs for every team every game. I'm hitting a ton of homers but also giving up a ton. Just super high-scoring games in general, at least on average.
Just as reference here's my scores the last month or so:
10-5, 6-3, 11-4, 5-3, 10-7, 4-3, 4-3, 18-4, 6-4, 5-4, 6-4, 5-4, 8-5, 6-5, 6-3.
I've scored the most runs in the MLB (524) and I rank 21st in the league in runs allowed (397). So needless to say I'm having a lot of high scoring games. I haven't registered a shutout in 64 games.Last edited by Gagnon39; 05-09-2020, 10:13 AM.Comment

I only see 4 games I consider offensive out of 15, which seems pretty good to me. It's just me talking, but I think you should strike the notion to adjust the power setting out of your mind and let the it roll.Comment

In 2019, teams scored an average of 4.8 runs per game. So that is about 9-10 runs per game total. You only had 6 games above the average and 2 of the 6 games were just above the average. Now if you feel like most of those runs come from home runs only than that may be different.Follow me on Twitch

Re: Armor & Swords MLB The Show 20 Classic/Directional Clean Screen Simulation Slider
Thanks for the input. I still may consider moving power but one thing I think I do too much of is attacking power hitters. Especially superstars like Yelich. I don't want to walk them and so I probably float too many balls over the heart of the plate. Those are definitely the one's that get destroyed.
With that being said, I can definitely roll with it, but at the same time if I get to the point where I've given up the most runs and home runs AND I've scored the most runs and hit the most homers, it's time for at least a slight adjustment.
Last game with wind was blowing out straight away to center at Wrigley (it seems to do this a lot for me) at 12 mph. As soon as I saw that I thought, "great." Sure enough, three innings in Lester had given up four long balls. I lost 11-5 and gave up a total of six homers.Last edited by Gagnon39; 05-09-2020, 11:40 AM.Comment

Yeah I feel like over half of the people I see on here posting their stats lead the league in HRs lol

Re: Armor & Swords MLB The Show 20 Classic/Directional Clean Screen Simulation Slider
I am seriously considering giving up on pitching and just quick managing when on defense.
Pitching in this game is so unbelievably frustrating with the CPU turning on god mode with 2 strikes again this year. Not realistic in the slightest.
And the umpires don’t help either. I may institute robo umps because the strike zone has been so inconsistent it is crazy.
If a ball low and away is a strike for the CPU then I should get the same call when I am pitching but that just isn’t the case this year. There are 2 different strike zones in play.
It is really taking all of the fun out of an otherwise amazing game.Comment
